Welcome to Africa! Visit countless cities, find unique moments, and continue your great train journey as the Tiny Rails story continues!



Highlights:

  • New Questline! Take your train on the race of a lifetime and explore the vast continent of Africa! From the Serengeti Plain to the Kalahari Desert, there's something to see in every corner!
  • New Depot, Port and Factories!
  • Checklists have made their way to Steam! Travel around North America completing tasks for awesome rewards!
  • Major and minor bug fixes, including lumber fix (read below)

Note: We are doing a test run with checklists in North America only. We believe this system will make progression in-game more enjoyable for players. As this is a test, we want all of your feedback on this new system so please let us know what you think!

Bug Fixes:


  • South America track and station building has been fixed. Stations should no longer be listed as San Diego.
  • Golden Gate Bridge moment is now awarded to your moment collection
  • Lumber issue has been resolved. Please see our Reddit thread for more information on why you may still be having temporary issues with it, as it's all explained there.
  • Various performance, display and quality improvements, including a fix for Mac monitor resolutions.

Tiny Rails - Africa Update and More!



Hello, Steam Community!

We know you've been anticipating an update for a little while now and we've got you covered! We'd like to announce that the Africa update is just around the corner!

Along with a brand new continent, the update will also include some major bug fixes and the implementation of the Checklist system in North America. We'll be testing this new feature on the Steam platform so definitely let us know what you think! We will post the official announcement here, along with more details in the release notes, once the update is ready (soon!)

Update 1.1.0 - Release Notes



Update 1.1.0 has arrived for Steam users! Here's a brief list of the major changes:

Content:

• South America has been added as a playable area
• New quest line, story elements and characters - race to find the lost city of El Dorado!
• Pick your path through the new continent with new Station Building and Track Building mechanics

Adjustments:

• Steam Cloud has now been surfaced with a Restore Data button in the options menu; local data is backed up to the cloud on station arrival, after completing Gumball Machine rolls and on quit - Restore Data will load the most recent game save backed up via this method
• Players can now double click and hold to boost for longer periods
• Engines and cabooses are now be equipped/swapped by double clicking on the desired engine/caboose in Train Edit
• Optimized Map, Trainiary and Train Edit screens for better and more reliable performance
• Updated market refresh service behavior
• Updated cargo behavior in markets to improve refreshes and cause quest cargo to spawn consistently while jobs/quests are active
• Excess quest cargo can now be sold to keep it from becoming stuck in player inventory

Fixes:

• Demand cargo should no longer be able to be purchased at a station that has a demand for that specific item
• Demand cargo is now be able to be sold to stations once the initial demand is met
• Players can now properly access the USA West port
• Passenger HUD number sprite no longer scales in size
• Arcade Car now properly display wheels
• Players can now arrive at the Warsaw, Poland station consistently
• Gold collection visuals should now accurately display gold values as currency is collected
• Discarding cars should no longer cause UI to become unresponsive in Train Edit in certain situations
• Assorted location names and grammatical issues in game text
• Various small bugs and performance tweaks

Known Issues:

• Weather is affecting performance in various situations and will be addressed in a future update
• Stars are sometimes visible when they shouldn't be during transitions from day/night and weather effects
• There are z-sorting issues in certain background elements that can cause flickering

Hello, Steam Community!

We posted recently about the content and bug fix update we were working on, with a goal of releasing last week. As many of you have noticed or pointed out, that goal didn't come to pass. We apologize for over-promising and under-delivering - it wasn't our intent to "Molyneux" anyone.

The fact is, the update wasn't to our standards and we weren't content releasing it until we'd had more time to address it. We're doing so now and will endeavor to get it into your waiting arms as quickly as possible.

We're grateful for your patience and your passion for our game. We most certainly haven't forgotten about you and we're working hard to give you an update you'll be happy with.

Tiny Rails Update News



Hello, Steam Community!

Firstly, allow us to apologize for things being quiet on the Steam front over the past couple of weeks. We've spent a great deal of time streamlining our production process on the technical side to allow us to more quickly roll content updates to multiple platforms. The long and short of it is we want to ensure we're updating to Steam regularly and we've built some architecture to help us achieve that goal.

The good news is that we're right around the corner from said update! We've got a pile of fixes and adjustments to handle some frequently-encountered bugs, and we're also rolling out some new content for you! South America will be added to the game, with a new, globe-spanning adventure, new characters, and a brand new station building mechanic that will allow you to take a more active role in building your business in the new continent.

We're targeting a release for next week, and we're excited to share our new additions with you.
