We've come a long way together and we'd like to thank everyone for their support throughout these past years! Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, we can no longer work on Tor Eternum full time. This is, however, no goodbye, but a see you soon, adventurers! We will continue working on Tor Eternum, however, only as a hobby project.
Do not be sad, adventurers: Tor Eternum will remain playable for you and any friends you play with. The game uses peer to peer through Steam to be playable online forever. Welcome to the Tavern, Adventurers! Are you ready to learn about the latest news? Here's what's new in this patch:
We have added the first pass of basic Steam achievements! More inventory space have been added, along with the ability to lock the gear, so you can't accidentally sell them! Movement skills had their cooldown reduced and now cost energy exhaustion. Before, they had a certain cooldown and did not cost energy exhaustion.
Changes and Fixes 🛠️
Native hotkey tilde (for borderless) has been changed to control-tilde;
Puzzle buffs now persist through death;
Dead players no longer show having health sometimes;
Fixed crash on knight’s 4th quest;
Ability Cooldowns below 10 seconds now display 1 decimal point where appropriate;
Max floor allowed for all story quests increased. E.g.: Final quest max level increased from 55 to 80;
High level EXP requirements have been reduced. This change is retroactive and some high level players might gain a couple levels for free. Max level now requires 63% less total EXP;
Item reroll costs reduced by 50%.
Major Balance Changes ⚖️
Most uniques in the game tweaked to meet new standards of power. Buffs across the board for weaker uniques. A handful of uniques that were too strong have been nerfed. The goal was not to make any class weaker. The goal was to buff everything up to the current standard of power while reducing a couple of outliers that could not possibly have been balanced;
Hidden attribute reductions for certain uniques have been completely removed;
Mobility attribute merged with haste. Haste now increases your movement speed along with your attack speeds. Old gear with mobility on it will either have it changed to haste or the attribute removed if the item already has haste. Mobility + Haste uniques can be rerolled at the enchanter;
All item changes are retroactive;
Regeneration attribute now also grants a small amount of energy recovery while at full health.
Bosses 👹
Boss homing shock now does high damage to pets;
Eradication Spell damage decreased with higher player count;
Annihilation Orb now pierces all enemies, moves faster, but only lasts a limited duration. Damage increased for low player count and decreased for high player count;
Reverted the exponential difficulty scaling past floor 95;
Spreading plague and virulent zombie plagues bugs fixed;
Virulent zombie changed to less frequently summoned single zombie with higher HP and a plague that lasts much longer;
Molten fields debuffs have different icons now;
Eternal bolts no longer appear instantly and now have a 2 second spawn in.
Knight 🛡️
Javelin now pierces all targets. Damage increased by 150%. Cooldown increased by 100%;
Rush is now baseline with a 15 second cooldown, reduced to 1 second with talent. Now causes energy exhaustion over 20 seconds. All related talents and uniques have been modified to accommodate this change;
Aid now provides 60% damage reduction for 3 seconds, down from 80% for 5 seconds;
Regroup talent buffed 25%.
Priest ✨
Merciless garb now benefits from resourcefulness crit chance;
Empowerment and restoration paragon talents now grant correct bonuses;
Angelic alacrity is now baseline with a 10 second cooldown, reduced to 1 second with talent. Now causes energy exhaustion over 5 seconds. All related talents and uniques have been modified to accommodate this change;
Prophecy tattoo hard cooldown increased and duration decreased;
Angelic healing reduced 35%;
Explosive martyr now correctly breaks pots.
Rogue 🗡️
Fire sand has been changed to buff only your next pocket sand’s damage significantly more than before;
Rogue stealth potion no longer puts stealth on cooldown;
Demonsblood flask reduced duration by 1 second;
Blood Carver damage increased 50%.;
Exposed Wound buffed to 8% and 400% was 5% and 500%;
Exploit Weakness damage reduced by 2%;
Dash now has a 1 second cooldown and costs exhaustion over 5 seconds. All related talents and uniques have been modified to accommodate this change;
Conserve energy changed to reduce energy cost of dash by 8 and provide damage reduction for 1.5 seconds;
Dash now resets 70% of stealth cooldown when used from stealth.
Warlock 🧙
Controlled power now makes the Warlock snared from arcane orbs but increases arcane beam damage by 15%. Warlock is no longer snared by default from arcane orbs;
Resonant Echo going off now has a sound effect;
Resonant Echo numbers always BIG now so you don’t miss them;
Voidrift unique no longer harms self;
Channel animation time halved;
Mega Shielding changed to x5 shielding;
Singularity damage increased by 80% and duration changed to 8 seconds;
Sentry damage increased by 25%;
Arcane beam damage increased 3%;
Arcane blast cooldown decreased;
Control mana cooldown decreased;
Warp mastery cooldown increased;
Warp mastery now teleports allies or enemies to you. Warp mastery also removes all teleport exhaustion from warlock;
Aether flows now gives 9 energy per second and reduces magic missile’s energy per shot by 2;
Chaincaster now also gets an additional 4 max arcane orb charges;
Teleport now has only a 1 second cooldown. Energy exhaustion has been increased, but is reducable by talents. All related talents and uniques have been modified to accommodate this change.
Theurgist no longer reduces summon manahoar cooldown by 7 seconds;
Summoned Gargoyle damage increased by 4%;
Summoned Brute damage increased by 5%;
Summon Gargoyle energy cost reduced to 8 from 26.;
Summon brute energy cost reduced to 20 from 60;
Summoner max energy reduced to 40;
Behemoth and terrarender energy cost reduced to 4 from 10;
Big cube unique damage and gigahoar recovery reduced by 25%;
Command base cooldown reduced by 16%;
Harmony cooldown increase per target hit reduced by 50%;
Coalesce is now baseline with a 10 second cooldown, reduced to 1 second with talent. Can now teleport without healing the summoner even when targeting nothing. Now causes energy exhaustion over 60 seconds if you do not consume a minion. All related talents and uniques have been modified to accommodate this change;
Reversal no longer reduces the healing of Coalesce by 60%;
Coalesce healing increased by 18%;
Safekeeping talent now reduces energy cost of coalesce instead of increasing its healing;

Exploration Done Right 🗺️
Welcome to the Tower, Adventurers, are you ready to continue exploring with your party? Here are the changes for this new patch:
You can now get items from chests, making your exploration more rewarding! But don't forget: you'll only get these items once you kill the boss! New secrets and puzzles were added to make exploration more interesting!
Balance ⚖️
All attributes have been re-tuned to accommodate the new system of inverse scaling being removed. Players will no longer lose secondary attribute benefits for levelling up or gaining power from gear;
Regeneration now grants hp regeneration as a percentage of your base max hp;
Protection is now more valuable in lower amounts;
Mobility is now more valuable in lower amounts;
All ability CDR is now more valuable in lower amounts;
Damage over time effects now benefit from damage buffs on application. Bleed rogues with wings rejoice. Heal over time effects also benefit from healing taken buffs on application;
Boss health and auto attack damage decreased for small player counts on higher floors. This should be especially noticeable on single player;
Death timer adjusted. Players will now lie dead on the floor for shorter with fewer players and longer with more. Ranging from 5 to 14 seconds. The same as before 8 seconds with 4 players;
Death time penalty reduced for larger player counts. 1 player remains the same. 5 player reduced by roughly 45%. 10 player reduced by 60%.
Bosses 👹
Cauterizer healing pools enemy healing reduced significantly, especially with larger player counts;
Fury nerfed slightly.
Summoner 🔥
Non hoar pets now benefit from 100% of regeneration;
All pets now benefit from 100% of mobility;
Cyndryn’s Rage unique degen reduced by 50%;
Guardsoul unique damage share increased by 100% and bug fixed causing brutes to take double the damage they were supposed to from this unique (which ends up being a wash);
Piercing Spikes talent now increases pierce by 2 instead of 4, but makes gargoyles do 50% bonus damage to non-boss targets;
Durability paragon talent changed to +1 pierce for gargoyles instead of extra hp;
Earthward +200% attunement healing built into the ability and renamed to Phaseward, which lets the summoner cast attunement on phased allies. Guardian talent adjusted accordingly;
Hard rock talent changed to now Brutes to absorb all of the Summoner’s threat when initially summoned.
Priestess ✨
Buffed explosive talent by 10% and fixed related tooltips.
Rogue 🗡️
Rogue ‘mobility’ talents changed to 10% movement speed and duplicate renamed;
Early bird paragon talent fixed and will now correctly give energy regeneration;
Corrupted Leathers unique item buffs;
Pilfer Potion buff potions and talents buffed;
Blood Carve damage buffed but CDR reduced.
Bugs 👾
Fixed a bug where changing characters broke the tavern button.

Veterans & New Players Unite 🤝
You are assembling your party for your upcoming ventures into the Tower. Marta, the reliable Priestess, and Tannyerz, the seasoned Warlock are ready for battle. But you have a feeling you'll need one more brave adventurer.
Luckily, the new Rogue in town enthusiastically accepted your calling and is waiting for your orders! Now with your party roaring to go, you all dive into the Tower halls, knowing that:
New players can be easily recognized by this new icon. They won't count towards the clock penalty on death and they won’t add to the difficulty of the boss mechanics. Additionally, the host can sacrifice a small portion of non-new players’ power to grant the new players a 50% damage reduction so they’re more likely to stay alive and be able to participate.
A Swifter Rogue 🗡️
You pass through the gates of the Tower, look around to check on lurking goblins, and... where is the Rogue?
Rogue playstyle tuning: Passive energy regeneration is now consistent, allowing for a more mobile in-and-out playstyle.
Beware Of The Warlock 🧙
You've now advanced through 40 floors of the Tower, and exhaustion is taking over your party. You are validly cornered and you clench your teeth, preparing for the worst.
"I found a Quickwit!" - says Tannyerz the Warlock, while equipping the new unique item.
The frenetic rain of beams that followed next was worthy of many campfire stories to come.
Faster Arcane Beam: a boost from Quickwit, one of the newly added 15 unique items, dropped on floors +40.
And More! 🔥
New WIP resolution menu in the options settings. The game will still default to fullscreen windowed, but now there are premade resolution options and a fullscreen and windowed checkbox (instead of the esoteric F10 and tilde buttons). F10 and tilde can now be unbound in the keybinds. No more accidentally hitting tilde when trying to cast penance;
Along with the new resolution options, we’ve fixed some of the black clipping issues that occur on larger resolutions. Please continue to provide feedback on what’s working and what’s not with the resolutions;
Boss high damage abilities rebalanced for smoother floor progression.
One more new unique item preview. Dare into the floors +40 and try to collect them all!
Bugs And Quality Of Life ✨
Updated the netcode to be stronger for larger numbers of players;
Prayer volume reduced;
Fixed crit damage over time and heal over time displaying incorrectly;
Price to reroll gear attributes has been halved;
Fixed a bug where people would get credit for story endings regardless of where they were on their own personal story;
Fixed a bug that let players host games higher than their maximum floor difficulty, which it previously allowed them to;
Players will start the map with full energy properly;
Fixed a number of grammatical errors in tooltips;
When someone leaves a lobby, it will correctly unready all players.
Balance ⚖️
Bosses 👹
Imprison now grants 95% damage reduction, has a maximum duration, and hp is reduced by 15%;
Isolation can no longer be removed by debuff removal;
Obliterators from Summon Obliterator hp reduced by 60%;
Base cooldown of Acid Zombies increased by 25%;
Boss ability corner, checkerboard, and wall explosives damage reduced;
Blast pulses and beam barrage now do fewer blasts with the same damage output total;
Fireball imp damage was reduced slightly;
Annihilation Orb Spell damage increased;
Multiple high boss damage categories on higher floors were reduced across the board. Around 10-20%. This should take several abilities that 2 shots to 3 shots, certain 1 shots to 2 shots. And some overkills to only slightly overkill (possibly prevented by mitigation).
Players 🎮
Players who self-revive or are revived by Miracle now have immortality for 1.5 seconds after being revived;
All forms of energy exhaustion can no longer be removed by debuff removal and no longer show on the debuff bar.
Knight 🛡️
Regroup healing increased by 25%;
Enlightener unique healing buffed 100%.
Warlock 🧙
Small cooldown on Arcane Beam removed;
Lingering Power now increases the cast speed of Arcane Beam;
Singularity damage increased by 300% and its duration changed to 6 seconds.
Summoner 🔥
Energy reduction on Crystalquake and Piercing Spikes is now built into the Summon Brute and Summon Gargoyle abilities directly;
Harmony CDR per target reduced;
Coalesce can now always target phased creatures;
Reversal talent changed to be 100% more fun;
Harmonic convergence buffed to 6 seconds;
Bear Mask unique buffed 300%;
Crystal Blast is now correctly affected by Earthward;
Corruption is now slightly positively affected by Earthward. Use at your own risk.
Rogue 🗡️
Now has natural energy regeneration of 5e/s and no longer starts the map or the boss room with 0 energy. Find Weakness energy generation and related unique items reduced to compensate for this natural energy gain. This is a buff;
Caltrops damage increased by 300% and radius increased 50%;
Pocket sand energy cost increased by 5;
Dash energy cost increased by 5;
Experimenter’s Scalpal unique buffed;
Pilfer potion good potions buffed;
Yeetums unique improved;
Exposed Wound damage increased by 25%;
Blood dance damage and energy cost increased by 30%;
Unstealthed parry no longer breaks on damage and duration changed to 0.8s;
Stealthed parry duration changed to 3 seconds;
Parry damage reduction values were reduced;
Parry now has a 5 energy cost;
Guide’s Vest now has +I Know The Way Talent;
Alchemist’s Vest no longer has hidden +hard cooldown.
Priestess ✨
Heal healing increased by 5%;
Miracle now only revives players to 50% health but has the previously mentioned 1.5 seconds immunity window;
Priestess of Power buffed to 8 seconds;
Pray for Power buff no longer lasts through death;
Pray for Power buff is now reset when the boss room starts;
Holy fire damage buffed by 12%;
Tactician's unique Holy Fire no longer benefits from Pray for Power. New unique created to accommodate the same playstyle named after a user who showcased this fun build :) ;
Irradiated Lump + Beacon of Hope interaction fixed;
Pray for Power buff renamed Prayer Power to remove ambiguity from the talent Pray for Power.
