Indie Live Expo 2023 & Demo Broadcast

Excited to be a part of Indie Live Expo 2023!

Started broadcasting a demo version of the game by our favorite streamers. We hope you like it :)

P.S. We continue to collect wishlists for this year's successful release and would appreciate it if you would recommend Torn Away to your friends.

Enjoy the festival, friends!

The main art of the game: step by step

This art is the calling card of Torn Away.

This picture has its own drama, told through composition, characters, and color. Artist Sergey Kolesov managed to convey the main conflict and the idea of the game so emotionally that non-gaming people are interested in learning more about our game just by looking at the art.

Our animator Vanya animated key art, so maybe you can see it inside the game.

Why is Torn Away a 2.5D game?

This is how our developers see the 2.5D game inside the Unity3D!

A few years ago we decided to make a 3D game with 2D sprites of characters and hand-drawn textures. Such complications allowed us to make a variety of gameplay in one unique style. Thanks to the unity of the visual style, the transition from third-person view to first-person view feels like an interesting effect, rather than a switch between two different games. The game's brilliant final visuals are the result of shaders, particles, and the work of tech art team.

Polishing: new animations

What is the main problem with integrating new animations into the game? One word: bugs. But the result is worth it. After all, the game experience is made up of many small details.

In the old version, Asya could only run on a log. This funny, almost cartoonish animation looks unrealistic if the player didn't speed up before climbing the log. We added idle animation and the ability to walk cautiously. When Asya freezes in indecision and tries to find her balance, the player realizes that the surface of the tree may be uneven or slippery. Asya is afraid to fall, but she has only one way to go — forward.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, friends!

Thank you for staying with us. It's impossible to develop any indie game without a cool team and the support of indie game lovers. The release of Torn Away awaits you and us in the year 2023.

In the meantime, take a look at how we create a level in Unity.

Steam Next Fest results and our plans

Steam Next Fest was good!

Thank you to everyone who played the demo and recommended Torn Away to their friends. Your kind words inspire us.

We analyzed your feedback and decided what we want to fix in the game in the near future. First of all, it was decided to improve Asya's animations. Their quality determines how the player will perceive our heroine: as just a doll or a little girl.
