WINTER WONDERLAND EVENTS!!



There’s a new weekend event type this weekend! The Winter Wonderland Events give 1.5x Units & EXP on select winter and toy-themed maps: Nimbus, Memories, Summit, Alpine, Village, Bedzoom, Hallway Raceway, Toy Room, Sweet Tooth, Frostbite, and Holly Jolly Highway!


Changes
  • New Map: Accelerate: Holly Jolly Highway
  • Condo: Added "Priority" setting to Sky Volume, allowing control over which Sky Volume takes priority over the others, when there are several inside of each other
  • Condo: Added "Cloud Color" setting to Sky Volume
  • Minigolf: Improved camera easing, to reduce visual stutters at high speeds
  • Made it easier to interact with the Game World Port panels
  • Accelerate: Beer now spins you out and the visual effects last only 5 seconds (was 10 seconds)
  • Accelerate: Beer no longer blocks other projectile items
  • Accelerate: Bumpers now spin you out (they still bump you as well)
  • Accelerate: Beer, Bumpers, and Golf Holes no longer can be flung forwards, will always be dropped behind you
  • Added Ice Sculpture Franky, Ice Sculpture Kalleira, and Elf Mutilator to Santa's Workshop store
  • Added Winter Market Booth to Celebrations store

  • Plaza: Fixed various landscape collision holes in the Plaza
  • Fixed button issues with smaller avatars or potion users
  • Fixed button issues while in a seat
  • Fixed a camera issue when leaving an RC vehicle
  • Fixed Frost Dragon materials being corrupted
  • Condo: Fixed a crash relating to setting the Ceiling Light string length
  • Condo: Fixed various festive lights not saving their settings properly
  • Condo: Fixed Ferris Wheel milestone lights being very bright
  • Condo: Fixed overlapping Sky Volumes turning each other off when you leave/enter the overlapping ones

Winter Holidays Update 2023 (0.17.5.0)





Last week, we released the Winter Holiday update, bringing back the winter plaza, winter themed events, the new boardwalk, and more.

You can read the release notes here.

We're also working hard on a Part 2 update, with a few more items and the teased winter Accelerate map, "Holly Jolly Highway". We're aiming to release that update this week, so keep your eyes peeled.

Johanna worked on getting the Winter Plaza ready for release, and also worked on "Holly Jolly Highway".

Lifeless worked on "Holly Jolly Highway", as well as fixed some issues with SDNL maps.

macdguy worked on releasing the update, and worked on fixing issues that came up with the initial release.

Madmijk worked on getting MIDI ready for release, as well as making the MIDI announcement.

Nuclearxpotato worked on holiday items.

Sketchman worked on optimizations and bug fixes, and worked on achievement icons.

Wheezwer worked on dialouge for the holiday characters.

WINTER WONDERLAND EVENTS!!

MIDI Support, Guitars, and a Drum Machine!



The MIDI and instruments update is HERE!

This update is full of awesome features for creating more music in your Condos! We have a video overview of all the additions and how they work, which can be viewed here:



There's new instruments as well! Including the Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Drum Machine.

Boardwalk Renovations



The boardwalk has gotten a new look and an improved Ferris Wheel, in addition to the recently added carnival games!

It now has its own beach! Fish off the piers or right on the sand while taking a look at the fun seaside amusements!

Two work-in-progress areas have appeared to indicate the location of the upcoming Bumper Cars arena and an upcoming store!





Post Process & Sky Volumes



There are new IO volumes for Condo builders to use to set the atmosphere of their creations!

The new Post Process Volume will allow you to customize various visual effects such as saturation, contrast, chromatic, vignette, grain, bloom, tint, pixelate, etc. within the volume or globally throughout the entire Condo.

There are also other effects such as pixelate and posterize. You can fade in/out post process volumes with IO as well!




The Sky Volume will allow you to customize the sky effects, including fog, sun, sun tint, horizon/zenith colors, star colors, and time of day settings within the volume or globally throughout the entire Condo.

This volume will give you complete control over the fog and sky lighting in any Condo.




New Items!!



It wouldn't be a joyous holiday without new items coming to town!

We've added new decorative holiday hats such as the Gingerbread Top Hat and an Orbiting Dreidel.

We also have Wooden Chests, Ice Sculptures, Presents, and a Mistletoe.

AND WE HAVE NEW FLOWERS! Heliopsis, Delphinium, Godetia, Lavatera, and Lilium Flowers!

We've received new oversized candy from Sweet Tooth, available in Fresh. However… we're not quite sure who's responsible for taking these… maybe we'll find out soon!




A new Canvas primitive is available, the Canvas Torus! Useful to create piping, and other curly donut shapes.

macdguy worked on two new volumes, a Sky Volume, which allows condo owners to adjust fog values, sky colors, etc, and a Post Processing Volume, allowing condo owners to adjust post processing effects.

This update addresses several bugs from the new update.

  • Added Autumn Harvest Scarf to the Tower Threads store
  • SDNL: Toy Hammer added to default loadout in Arena mode
  • SDNL: Added ambient sounds to teleporters and launchers
  • SDNL - Container Ship: Added jump pad near super weapon that sends you back to the ship
  • SDNL - Container Ship: Added more armor and health pickups
  • SDNL - Container Ship: Adjusted water damage depending on where you fall in
  • SDNL - Container Ship: Added more barrels to throw for Grav Glove
  • SDNL: You can now force a respawn (using the K key by default). This has a wind up to it, and if another player is already damaging you while you are doing it - they will still get the kill

A new SDNL battlefield has been introduced! Impress the audience with your nautical skills. Fight on the crashed Everstuck and sail your way to victory!

  • Collection Book: Upped "Survived Compound" achievement (1,500 units > 5,000 units)
  • Collection Book: Upped "Survived Gasoline" achievement (1,500 units > 5,000 units)
  • Collection Book: Upped "Survived Village" achievement (10,000 units > 25,000 units)
  • Collection Book: Upped "Survived Nightyard" achievement (10,000 units > 25,000 units)

Miscellany



Johanna worked on re-arranging, re-sizing, and re-shaping the boardwalk to accommodate future attractions. She also worked on the Bumper Cars building, added a beach to the boardwalk area, remodeled the support structures, and added new railings.

Joshua continued working on the new workshop skeleton, working on porting over the existing animations to the new skeleton. He also worked on figuring out IK and shoulder / proportion adjustments.

macdguy worked on implementing achievements for Containership, fixed bugs with the collection book, optimized teleporters, and started working on a subtitle system for when voice lines are added.

madmijk continued working on MIDI support.

Nuclearxpotato worked on some new holiday items.

Sketchman continued working on optimizations.

Wheezwer continued working on textures for the Thanksgiving scarfs, as well as working on event icons for the weekend events.

Will worked on music for Containership.
