'Trenches' Game Update V2.6.0 - 12/03/24

Hello! How is everyone doing? Been a while!

This is a small update because we had reports about some bugs, and also done some additional improvements.

Game Patch: V2.6.0 is live!

I would like to thank you as always for your support, suggestions and feedback along the development of Trenches. I really appreciate your support, as a solo developer this really means so much to me as always. I try to always do my best in updating the games!

- Fixed an issue where the player falls off in the hiding zone.
- Changed some collider issues in the map, making some other hiding zones falling outside the map.
- Fix an issue with the monster where sometimes he is not able to get your microphone input.
- Updated some sounds and animations for the jumpscares.
- Updated some randomized jumpscares in the game to be less frequently.
- Objectives is more outlined to show you where it is, especially if within a certain radius.
- Increased the texture sizes of walls, floors and other props to make it look a bit better.
- Fixed some other minor bug issues.
- 'No Jumpscare mode' have also been updated with these changes.

Hopefully, we have some BIG NEWS related to Trenches soon which I can't share for the moment, and I am currently working hard to try and get it out as soon as possible - so Trenches fans please stay tuned! :)

'Trenches' Game Update V2.5.1 - 13/09/23

Hello everybody! I hope everybody is doing well. Things have been hard in the last couple of months but hopefully will be updating the games slowly to fix all the issues addressed. This is an update because we had multiple updates which we did not inform from v2.1 - v2.5.1

- Added the option to turn on/off lens flare.
- Monster will see you from a further range.
- Monster will hear your microphone from a further range.
- Some jumpscares have been altered and changed.
- Updated a couple of randomized locations that may appear depending on the player's path-finding.
- Objective will show up if you are close enough with more outline and brightness when you whistle.
- Increased the texture sizes of some objects in the game.
- The sound of the objective will be heard from further away (making it more easy to find objectives)
- File size have been reduced again.
- Edited some sounds and audio.
- Fixed some other minor bug issues.
- More optimizations have been made for the game.
- 'No Jumpscare mode' have also been updated with these changes.

'Trenches' Game Update V.2.1 - 07/03/23

Hello everybody! I hope everybody is doing well.

Game Patch: V2.1 is live!

I would like to thank you as always for your support, suggestions and feedback along the development of Trenches. I really appreciate your support, as a solo developer this really means so much to me. very small update mostly bug fixes that I saw regarding some videos of the game. Mostly where the gun and some items were bugged and was spawning again.

- Fixed a bug that was making some items (such as the gun) being bugged.
- Increased the texture sizes of some objects in the game.
- File size have been reduced once again.
- Lens flair has been updated and can be turned on or off. It also been optimized.
- Edited some sounds and audio.
- Fixed the issue that made the "cradle" jumpscare spawn twice for some reason.
- Fixed some other minor bug issues.

'Trenches' Game Update V.2 RELEASED - 20/01/22

Hello everybody! I hope everybody is doing well. Happy new year!

I have been a bit busy with updating and life stuff, but currently was working on a last build update to release the game out of EA - with some suggestions and your feedbacks implemented.

Please note the game will now be released out of EA, however I will still be doing some fixes, updates and such - so If you do have any more suggestions do let me know! Just because it will be out of EA don't mean I will stop working on it ːsteamhappyː

Game Patch: V2 is now officially live!

I also saw some questions regarding if invert controls, yes the option has also been added and you can invert your controls in the settings once you start the game.

- Added a new settings where you can disable the lens flair in the camera.
- Changed some vertex and polycount on models, improving the optimization of the game.
- File size have been reduced once again.
- Added the option to turn off the lens in the game.
- Edited some sounds and audio.
- Fixed some bug issues where players were getting stuck in hiding spots.
- Optimized some jumpscares and triggers activation to be more randomized.
- Optimization improvements
- Quality improvements related to textures.
- All updates apply to both the normal game mode and the no jumpscare game mode.
- The highlight of the doll will stay longer, making it easier to find.

'Trenches' Game Update V.1.3.0 - 01/08/22

Hello everybody! I hope everybody is doing well. I have been a bit busy with updating and life stuff, but currently I am focusing on making the game more playable and in a stable state so most updates from now on will be regarding to optimizations.

  • Changed some vertx on models, improving the speed of the game.
  • File size have been reduced once again.
  • The objectives will now be more highlighted when you press the Trench whistle. If you are close approximately to the objective, then it will highlight in white outline.
  • Fixed some bug issues where players were getting stuck in hiding spots.
  • Made the enemy with a lower eye sight distance.
  • Optimized some jumpscares and triggers activations.
  • All updates apply to both the normal game mode and the no jumpscare game mode.

Mostly this small update is related to optimization and performance changes, which will be focused on mostly in these couple of days - this update is for some performance and optimization changes.

'Trenches' Game Update V.1.2.6 - 06/03/22

Hello everybody! I hope you are all doing great.

I had very busy days, sorry for not updating much in the last couple of months. I have been very busy and had some personal issues. Mostly this update fixes issues that I had on my mind for some time but did not have the chance to get to them - it mostly includes some optimization work done and changed the effects a bit.

  • The "Pinkish" effect have been completely removed from the game, and now it looks more natural and gritty IMO. Do let me know what you think about this!

'Trenches' Game Update V.1.2.5 - 29/11/21 (Enemy can now hear you!)

Hello everybody! I hope you are all doing great.

Had a very crazy month. I was sick again and things felt strange, I went to do the test and I was positive with COVID. Had to move all my things to somewhere else and had to stay in quarantine. I was not doing too great, since I also suffer from Asthma - but that did not stop me from getting an update for Trenches! (I am doing alright now! Last few days in quarantine and things should hopefully be back to normal) ːsteammockingː

I was working on a new feature for Trenches and here is. Please note this is still early, so the feature may not work as intended. Hopefully, I will update it for the better as time goes on with all your suggestions and help.

Game Patch: V1.2.5 is now live!

As always once again - I would like to thank you all for your support, suggestions and feedback.

So, what is new in the latest update? The enemy can now hear you talk and breath through your microphone.



The new update includes a new feature which twitch streamers may not like very much, which is Microphone Input. The enemy can now hear you if you have a microphone. It can hear you talk, scream and breath. This means that if you have a mic and you make a sound when close to the enemy, then he can hear you and come running towards where you are.

Now you need to control where you step, move, blow your whistle - and also your breathing too.

If the monster is near and you are in a hiding spot then he won't go away until you stop breathing. That means you have to stop making any noise necessary, otherwise you will be dead. The enemy can only hear the sounds you make only if he is close enough and depending on how much you scream. The whistle will always be much louder and be heard at a much further distance.

A new rule have been added: "Enemies can hear your breath, if you hear that they are near - control your breathing.".

I also did add the option to turn Microphone Input Off for players that don't want the enemy to hear their voice - it will be turned on automatically so if you wish to turn it off then you can in the settings too. ːsteamhappyː

With that being said - I also updated the weapon in the game, while it still won't hurt the enemy - it will slow it down a bit if you take multiple shots at it, giving you a chance to make your escape (especially if you are out of breath). I also worked on the optimization and the textures a bit. I also added some new settings, UIs, models, textures, deleted some unused files etc.

There is also a new UI ear icon now that shows on the screen and this means that the enemy can hear you at any given time, but if you use the whistle / or talk then the risks are higher. If red lines start appearing on the ear, that means that you are making too much noise.

However, please note the only way you WILL know if an enemy knows or suspects where you are is by hearing the sound of his footsteps. Is he running or walking? Walking means he is searching for you, but RUNNING means he suspects or heard something .. so that means if he RUNNING, then you SHOULD BE TOO.

The enemy will now hear your voice in real-time. As you can see, when you speak some red lines will appear on the ear icon, this means you are making too much noise. This will appear if you speak loud a lot or if you blow your whistle.



You have to also control your breathing in order for the enemy to go away.



Let me know what you think of this! I am more then happy to listen to all your suggestions to improve. Please note that this is still very early, so it will be improved upon on hopefully.


  • Microphone Input was now added in the game. The enemy can now hear your voice in real-time.
  • If you are near the enemy and you breath heavily, then you can give away your position.
  • The sound and footsteps of the enemy have been improved, since now they play larger part of it.
  • An On/Off button in the settings have been added so you can switch off Microphone Input at any given time, this way the enemy will not hear your voice then.
  • Since things are now a bit harder, I also updated the outline for the clue to be more visible.
  • The gun now slows the enemy down instead of doing nothing, this will give you more time to escape too if you shoot him multiple times.
  • New UI have been added which shows you if you are making a lot of noise or not. This is mostly used if you are talking a lot on your microphone or if you use the whistle.
  • Fixed some minor bugs and done some minor changes to the map layout.
  • Some minor changes to the UI and graphics have been made.
  • Some minor changes to the enemy have been made.
  • New additional sound effects were added.
  • Some triggers for jump-scares were changed in the game too.
  • More optimization have been made for the game.
  • Textures and materials have been updated, the ground texture have also been improved.
  • Reduced the game file size again and deleted unnecessary files that were taking space.
  • Some more performance changes have been made.
  • Some text have been changed and updated.
  • You can turn off the "Pinkish" effect in the game in the settings menu at the Main Menu before you start the game. This will remove the effect for your game.
  • All updates apply to both the normal game mode and the no jumpscare game mode.
