For those who do not follow the game on Discord or Twitter - apologies for the long silence. There are many news, some of them bad, some of them good. I feel like if my English was a bit better I could make a Stand Up comedy telling you our devs news on Youtube.
๐ Life gives you lemons
Let's start with me texting this Patch Note with annoying tooth pain cause I overcooled the trigeminal nerve. You might have noticed the game industry shaking last two years. There are a lot of great devs who lost their job, didn't find funding for their games, and so on. Nerves are frayed in many ways.
๐ Following our last update, we embarked on an ambitious journey to chart the future of the game. Gameforge while always supportive, did de-prioritize the further development of Trigon.
๐ We had to care about the long-time existence of the company and this is why we reinvested our remaining company resources into tech which will be the foundation of our next projects.
๐ At some point I was sure that we passed the uncertainty and we were good to focus on work on some new projects and Trigon updates but NO. Looks like we have to prove that we are here working for you as true indie devs. It was the hardest time ever for me, cause I didn't have any money to pay salaries for a team or any other costs for half a year.
๐ฎYou should be dead, but apparently, you weren't ready for that, either.
Same as with you, my honesty settings are set to 95% for the team either. I am proud to be part of the Sernur.tech. I can't even expect that the whole team will decide to stay together even when we don't have any money to cover the burn rates for an uncertain period.
Somehow with some of my personal losses, we managed to find a good partner for our next title and opportunities to continue our journey. So let's jump to the good news.

๐ย Fixed an issue where pressing buttons 2 and 3 simultaneously in the dialogue caused an error.
๐ Player units became invisible in some compartments on the player's ship.
๐ Thrown-off units continued to provide visibility in a compartment it was.
๐น Error when attempting to deflect a projectile with a defensive drone that has already reached the target.
๐น Enemy guns could target multiple sections of the player's ship. It was not visually noticeable, but occasionally caused game lag.
๐ In the crew overflow window, it was possible to add an undeletable and unselectable unit.
๐ In the crew overflow window, it was possible to convert enemy units into friendly ones.
๐ While boarding Player units could get stuck outside enemy ship compartments when pressing the "return to saved positions" button.
๐ With the ship's lid closed, the white silhouette of a unit and its health bar were visible.
๐ Achievement "Hold your fire" could be obtained even when using weapons in combat.
๐ Achievement "Lucky Swine" could be obtained faster than 10 battles.
๐ A tiny mass selection of weapons or unit portraits selects one as it was clicked.
๐น Error when deflecting a projectile with a defensive drone from an attacking drone at the moment of impact, leading to an inability to continue the battle. Visually appeared as projectiles hovering over ships without dealing damage.
๐น Enemy weapons and drones did not get back to work immediately after breakdown, repair, or EMP. They were waiting for any spaceship condition update event. For example, they start working back only after entering stealth mode.
๐น Error when assigning a new target for a weapon that fires multiple projectiles in a row before completing shooting with the "burst fire mode" enabled. Visually appeared as projectiles hovering over ships, the game blocker.
๐น The fire sound effect ends with an error on leaving the game session.
๐น Error when the day passes with unit active mass selection, having a dead player unit on board.
๐ Error when attempting to return player units to saved positions while the player unit or units are on an enemy ship.
๐ Error when quickly closing the game statistics window before the data had time to load.
๐ Error with the unit popup breakdown, showing an empty frame in the top left corner instead of the unit popup.
๐ Numerous energy-related errors were caused by the ability "Electrician" like extra energy in the system, the inability to distribute energy to the system, and the inability to take energy from the system.
๐นย When using the "Rapid Fire" ability on pause and simultaneously ordering a unit with this ability to leave the weapon system, the game crashed - the enemy no longer fired, and the player's projectiles did not reach the enemy.
๐นย When using the "Harpoon" ability on pause and simultaneously ordering a unit with this ability to leave the weapon system, the game crashed - the enemy no longer fired, and the player's projectiles did not reach the enemy.
๐นย The unit with the "Technician" ability did not fully protect the system from EMP.
๐นย Abilities "Combat Protocols," "Crusher," and "Warrior" incorrectly calculated damage to doors and systems.
โ๏ธ Balance
๐ย The bounty level has been changed. The bounty level can now only range from 0 to 5 and cannot overgrow to very high values. The bounty level can now be properly reduced by sold units at stations, but not below 0. While in the sector the bounty level growth over time has been reduced.
๐นย The galaxy sector generation has been improved. Previously, there were three types of sectors: small, medium, and large. Now there are 20 types of sectors with different numbers of anomalies, number of stations, types of stations, and encountered races.
๐นย Space Stations with varying upgrade costs, item prices, and item availability can now be generated. Upgrade costs and item prices may be above or below average, and item availability may vary.
๐นย The spread speed of fires has been increased by 25%.
๐นย The upgrade cost of systems and sub-systems for scrap has been increased.
๐นย The Life Support system now generates 1 food per stage instead of 2.
๐ย The efficiency of all drones has been increased. Energy consumption has been reduced, damage has been increased, and recharge time has been decreased.
๐ย The "Technician" ability now provides an increased repair speed.
๐นย The "Electrician" ability now provides energy not to the specific system where the unit is placed but to the reactor and can be used on any system on the spaceship.
๐นย Upon the enemy's surrender, the reward is higher but the bounty level increases more significantly: for a surrendered ship without a faction +1 bounty; for a venator patrol +1 bounty; for a pirate +0.5 bounty; for a slave trader +0.5 bounty.

๐นย Rewards for battle outcomes have been changed:
Difficulty "Easy"
Enemy ship boarded (this also includes crew elimination by other methods such as suffocation, burning, or shooting with anti-infantry weapons):
The player receives 100% of the enemy cargo hold.
75% chance to obtain a weapon/drone that was on the enemy ship; probability calculated separately for each weapon/drone.
Enemy ship destroyed (this also includes captain elimination):
100% to obtain scrap equal to 50%-100% of the enemy ship's HP.
25% to obtain 10%-50% of each cargo hold cell.
10% chance to obtain a weapon/drone that was on the enemy ship.
Enemy ship surrendered
75% chance to obtain 200%-300% of each cargo hold cell
40% chance to obtain a weapon/drone that was on the enemy ship.
Difficulty "Normal" and "Hard" work the same way but with slight differences in probabilities.
๐ย Added events "Low Supplies" and "Hunger" to facilitate survival in hostile space. In these events, players can obtain food through various methods, sometimes not entirely conventional.
๐ย Weapons have been given 3 firing restriction modes:
no firing if the target has shields
no firing if there are friendly units in the target system
no firing if the system in the target is disabled.
๐นย Units have been given the "Well Fed" buff when they consume food, increasing movement speed, melee damage, and repair capabilities.
๐นย The EMP damage has been redesigned. Now, the duration of EMP on a system is calculated by the formula: duration of EMP = system level * time to disable one level (3 seconds). Thus, for a level 5 system, the duration of EMP cannot exceed 15 seconds. The EMP effect on the system gradually diminishes as the time to disable each level passes, starting from the lower levels.
๐นย The behavior of units during a fire in a system has been changed. They now try to avoid standing in the fire as much as possible and move to a cell without fire to extinguish it from there.
๐นย The behavior of units in battle has been changed. Units that are not skilled in combat (poor Taerticons) will now try to flee from enemies attacking them in close combat (mighty Rakhi).
๐ฎ UI
๐นย The weapon interface has been redesigned: control buttons for firing restriction modes have been added.
๐นย "Automatic fire mode" is now set by default to all weapon slots on all player ships.
๐นย The chosen firing modes on weapon slots are now always active and are not reset when the weapon is turned off.
๐ย The names of players and enemy spaceships are now displayed on the interface.
๐ย The reward now shows the outcome of the battle - enemy destruction, team destruction, enemy surrender, enemy escape, or player escape.
๐นย An icon for the "Well Fed" buff has been added to units on the left panel.
๐ย The rewards window now more clearly indicates when an effect, buff, or ability has been removed from a unit. For example, when a unit is no longer hungry.
๐นย Additional energy from a unit with the "Electrician" ability in the reactor is highlighted in yellow. The popup indicates that additional energy is obtained from the "Electrician".
๐นย The visual representation of energy in the reactor is limited to 20 energy bars. Anything above 20 is shown as numbers above the top bar.

๐งก I must admit it's hard to start writing after such a long break but rest assured that our silence is just because we are working extremely focused on ensuring that Trigon: Space Story becomes better and bigger.

More teasers have arrived! We've prepared an overview tour of some of the new locations available in the update to mark the occasion!
โจ What is new?
This update expands the list of languages and introduces a stack of Quality-of-Life improvements, every single one of them inspired directly by Trigon community feedback, and on top of this adds more new content to explore.
And a big note of thanks to all the players - Trigon: Space Story reached stable very positive reviews on Steam after all previous updates and we are not gonna stop!All the feedback you are providing is of enormous help to allow the dev team to keep improving the game.

๐ Bugfixes
๐ When the surrender of the enemy is refused by the player, the enemy interface disappears and he stops fighting.
๐ In a battle against two ships, after killing the first one, the game paused, which could not be unpaused.
๐ Blocker when loading a game session in which the player escaped the battle, leaving his unit on board the enemy.
๐น Sometimes projectile tails, when spawned in the enemy screen, are drawn for a second across all enemy space.

Now it is easy to take a quick look at your unlocks, check your progression, and compare things.
๐น Add a pop-up to the "Continue" button in the main menu and in the menu in the game with information about what you are playing - difficulty, chapter, mode, etc.
๐ Give the ability to change the order of units in the Crew Management.
Now you can manage your crew list, which might help you in tense battles to better read their status or faster group select to give an order.

๐น Improve the visual of Human spaceships explosions
๐Added alert for an enemy is going to use a teleporter with a countdown.
Before it was only sound effects and animation, which could be hard to read on pause.

Asteroid belts, Home planets for all races, Giant Stars, Black Holes, Nebulas, Pulsars, and Easter Eggs locations are added. Trigon is expanding just as the Universe does.
Minor but Major โ Quality of Life changes
Sernur.tech was known to be based in the middle of nowhere in Russia. And 2022 turned out to be the most difficult year in everyone's life for us. We worked hard and managed all the difficulties one after another. But there were more and more of them.
We've made a hard decision for ourselves and our families. And this update rightfully can be called a Quality of Life Update for us.
We opened Sernur.tech Montenegro. For now we have relocated most of our crew, and most importantly, all our spirit and desire to create a gaming experience for you.
๐ฏ Our goals
๐ธ Now one of the priority tasks for us will be settling into a new place. Helping developers and families with all the basic needs to make sure nothing gets in the way of work and creativity.
๐ธ Continue to expand and improve Trigon with new content, features, game session balance, and game mods. The visibility into our future games and updates roadmap is excellent and our ability to execute on that roadmap is stronger than ever before.
๐ธ Improve our average steam reviews into Positive. Slowly but steadily it has a good trend and we will continue working hard to earn it. We believe in what we do and are happy to have so many players with us.

It feels like it was only yesterday that we released Trigon: Space Story! Time really flies, doesnโt it, Captains? With all the excitement of our last planned hotfix update, we jumped straight into working on a Roadmap for future content updates and something extra secret. While we canโt share any details with you at the moment, we can say that weโve had plenty to show off in our weekly meetings with our publisher.
We want to say a big thank you for your ongoing support โ weโve got such an amazing and positive community, and itโs because of you that we feel as though we can do an incredible game experience when working towards future updates.
โจ What is new?
I come to you today with a fresh Community Update to ring in the release of our latest patch. Weโve got another Hotfix for you, taking care of several crashes, blockers, visual bugs, performance, balance, and quality of life changes based on players feedback.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to report these issues to us through all of our channels. Your support is greatly appreciated as we squash these troublesome bugs.

โ๏ธ Balance
๐น Changed the parameters of 68 weapons. Changed parameters include price, energy consumption, reload time, the time between shots in a queue, damage dealt, and EMP effect.
(The most incredible thing with this update is that it is highly based on one passionate player who helped us. Thank you the_darkwatarus_museum you are now in the special thanks list on credits. For us, this is also a new experience and one more approve about devs should be in touch with players. I mean once the game was released it is impossible to dev play as much as players do. And we can learn a lot from our players. Thank you for this great opportunity!)
๐ Optimization
๐ Now there is no FPS drop on pause.
(It was almost twice lowered FPS and high GPU load when game paused. Now it is smooth as unpaused gameplay means x2 better and with no GPU overload)
๐น The Galaxy Map has been optimized. Location texts have been optimized.

Features
๐ Pause in the game is divided into two types: 1) system pause, which is activated when entering the management, opening the menu, etc.; 2) a pause caused by the player when pressing the space bar.
(Now you could play Iron Man mode, enter management, open menus, etc. and the game will be put on a system pause. It won't affect the achievement anymore)
๐ Enemy going into stealth no longer resets the target of guns, drones, teleport
๐ Enemy surrender offer no longer resets the target guns, drones, teleport
(Same as you we dreamed about this for a long time. It took a lot of effort to be changed, but now it feels right)
๐ It is now possible to control units on board the enemy when the enemy goes into stealth
๐ On Easy difficulty, the player's units return to the player's ship when an enemy ship explodes
๐ Player teleport now picks up enemy units and enemy teleport picks up player units only on Hard difficulty
๐ Saving the position of units now remembers not a compartment, but a specific cell in the compartment
(if you have a good skill Weapon Operator on Weapons System and at the same room you have regular Pilot and they go to other compartments for some reason it was possible that Pilot will take place on Weapons System and will not give you bonuses on that when return to saved place. Now you don't need to care about it)
๐ The conditions for unlocking ships in chapters have been changed.
(It is now possible to play through Campain and new chapters could be unlocked on any players Spaceship.)
๐ UI Enemy evasion bar added.
(The accuracy depends on the player's sensors: sensors lvl 1 - enemy evasion is unknown sensors lvl 2 - inaccurate data, the scale shows the enemy's evasion in this form - <25%, from 25 to 50%, >50% sensors lvl 3 - accurate data, the scale shows the exact value of the enemy's evasion)
๐น Added an autosave icon to the top right corner of the screen. It appears at the time of autosave - when changing the game day.
๐ The correct font is now used to display Japanese texts.
๐น Disabled right-click on buttons in the interface. Also disabled drag/drop with the right button.
๐น In the Encyclopedia, the "viewed/not viewed" state of ships, guns, etc. saved correctly.
(Previously, to save the state, you had to start a new game or continue an existing one.)
๐น The description of Easy, Normal, and Hard modes has been expanded, and a description of the differences between modes has been added.
๐น On the map, the hitbox of the current location is reduced, and the hitboxes of other locations are increased.
๐ Bugfixes
๐ The "management" button was unlocked in battle.
(There was a small time gap after the end of the animation of the arrival of the enemy ship when you could press a pause, after which the "management" button was unlocked. If player used this it broke the game. Now it's fixed.)
๐ Unit healthbars were visible above the ship's lid when the day changed
๐ After defrosting in battle, a unit could never again be selected with a mass selection, its healthbar was not visible on the stage.
๐น The game was broken when exiting to the main menu during the crossfade of music tracks when they changed from one to another
๐น 6 quests, the chance of which was equal to 0.
(It is 6 new side quests now available.)
๐ Another blocker in the tutorial at the stage of upgrading systems in management.
๐ When buying at the station, the unit did not appear in the players units list.
๐ Blocker when killing an enemy captain during the escape animation of an enemy ship with a player captain on board.

๐ Unlock conditions for the "Cracker" gun changed from "Install 4 lasers on the Behemoth ship" to "Install 4 lasers on any Rakhi ship".
๐ Achievement "Most Wanted!" it was impossible to receive after the first failure of receiving.
Now everything works as it should. To get it, you need to score a wanted level of 5 or higher in the first sector without leaving it.
๐น Blocker when starting the game when the Backup.ZIP file is opened by some other program.
๐ The "+" button on the units tab was missing in the Sandbox mode menu.

๐น The amount of scrap that must be collected for the "Galactic Garbage Collector" achievement has been changed from 500,000 to 100,000

๐ธ We have more than 100k wishlists and dreaming about sharing our game with these players. This will help us to have time and resources to work on new incredible things for you.
๐ธ We are still trying our best to get Mostly Positive on Steam. After several Hotfix updates, we have recent reviews - 82% very positive. But we need more new positive reviews to change the average score. Will continue polishing the game to make it better and better for you and believe this is the only right way to have a good score on Steam.

The drop chance of phenomenal weapons depending on the wanted status has been changed from 60-90% to 10-50%. Phenomenal weapons cost increased by 50%. Loot from venators has been reduced For the four story chapters, there will be no neutron and giant stars (EMP and fires) in the starting sector. The first chapter of the story campaign (humans) has become longer - four sectors instead of three. The third chapter of the story campaign (rakkhi) has become shorter - five sectors instead of 7 seven.

โจ What is new?
This update will be all about making Trigon: Space Story more accessible to everyone. It's been two months since our release, and it's about time that we made sure that Trigon: Space Story can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.
We're trying to achieve this with a new EASY difficulty mode added. Originally we designed the game to be a hardcore strategy and only then added NORMAL difficulty with the only difference was how many resources you have per game session. But now we add much more difference to help players with their very first experience:
๐น Bounty lvl increases only based on the results of quests and battles. (For jumping and skipping a day, the bounty lvl does not increase) ๐น The evasion of enemy ships is reduced by 2 times. (The resulting parameter decreases, taking into account all abilities and effects) ๐น For opponents, added time delay before a shot and set from 1 to 8 seconds ๐น Updating tasks for enemy units occurs with a delay of 5 to 20 seconds ๐น Removed priorities for certain tasks. (For example, there are no priority tasks for repairing specific systems - instead, there is a task for repairing something) ๐น The number of tasks for the same type has been reduced (For example, only one unit will be sent to fix the system) ๐น For the enemy, the time delay for stealth ready for operation is set from 15 to 30 seconds ๐น For the enemy, the time delay for the active ability is set from 10 to 30 seconds
๐ค So, why are we adding the EASY mode?
Well, Trigon: Space Story is intended to be tough but fair - sure, you die a lot, but you grow your skill while gaining new weapons & experience until you can beat the final boss. And in the new Chapter, you face dealing with different starting conditions and it begins again...
This is our vision of Trigon: Space Story and we encourage players to try to beat the game as it is, however, we've received quite a lot of feedback that this experience is just inaccessible for a decent chunk of players with the game in its current state, for various reasons.
These new options are designed to allow specific adjustments to the game, to make this tough but fair gameplay accessible, while leaving other parts of the game the same. We hope that these changes can let more players enjoy Trigon: Space Story as we intended :)

We have had an absolute blast watching your streams and tweets and Discord posts about your game experiences! We are shocked what can you do playing Trigon: ๐คฏ We have players with up to 300 hours already ๐คฏ We have players who beat all Chapters on HARD IRON Mode ๐คฏ We have a new speedrun record to visit all 100% systems on Galaxy for 00 : 49 : 38 And much more exciting achievements by hardcore players. We even could not imagine this is possible.
We also carefully listen to the hardcore players and see your requests too. Next patches will be based more on your quality of life feedback and balance. And this current patch will solve some major game issues for you too.

๐ Bug fixes
Fixed two more reasons for the endless loading when you click on "continue".
๐ Fixed game crash, which visually looked like shells hanging over the ship's compartment. Unfortunately, only half of the problem that was caused by drones has been fixed. We are still fixing the second part of it to completely remove this bug.
๐ Fixed game crash, when exiting the menu after the animation of the arrival of the player's ship, but before opening the lid.
๐ Fixed blocker and the impossibility of continuing the game when a player escapes with an enemy captain on board.
Fixed game crash, when dialogue was not completed at the stage of obtaining a reward when enemy units were captured, if the enemy had a launched drone, and the player had a cryo-chamber.
๐ Fixed game crash, when using the active ability "Reanimation" on a unit that died in the doorway between compartments.
๐ Fixed the light from the inside of an escaped enemy was superimposed on the light from the inside of the ship from the next battle in the same location.
๐ Fixed The units were not defrosted in the cryochamber compartment.
๐ Fixed A unit could stand in one cell and give it all its bonuses.

We have a lot more tasks about bug fixing and the quality of live updates. We were carefully watching and reading all your messages with questions, reports, feedback, and suggestions here and on the Discord channel - so now our main priority is to work on this. I would like to highlight some of them as a major with high priority for us:
๐น We will carefully look at how EASY mode feels by players and will continue working on game accessibility based on player's feedback. ๐น Quality of life changes - we have a list of the most recent player's feedback about making the game experience even more smooth and better. ๐น Balance - you help us to see how we can improve the game experience and we would love to make it happen with you and for you. ๐น Teleport and stealth mechanics - we were so impressed how many actions players can do with this, we will try to make it more fun for all players. ๐น GPU usage and v-sync, fps unlocked, and other performance.

๐ Now all Steam achievements work! ๐ Fixed the energy from the Electric Engineer's ability could not power guns ๐ Fixed the part of the additional energy from the ability "Backup Power" was lost forever ๐ Fixed a bug causing endless loading because of a unit with the "Electric" ability in the cryo-chamber ๐ Fixed when the system was broken and then was stunned by EMP it continued to work somehow ๐ Fixed when the weapon system was damaged, the guns turned off in the wrong order, and when repaired back, they also turned on in the wrong order. ๐ Fixed when repairing a weapon system, it was impossible to turn off the guns until the system was completely repaired ๐ Fixed a bug due to which on the interface, when hovering over the jump button and on supplies, values are shown taking into account the consumption of dead units ๐ Fixed when the passive abilities of frozen units in cryo-chamber work ๐ Fixed when units in the Sandbox Mode menu did not have options for race, gender, etc. ๐ Fixed when units lose perk 2 in the Sandbox Mode menu ๐ Fixed when killing an enemy captain, enemy units were not captured ๐ Fixed when buying systems at space stations, they did not disappear from the list of available for purchase ๐ Fixed hotkeys did not work when hovering the mouse over a unit.
