It’s been an amazing few months for our first 3D Trine game, and we’ve learned a lot in this time. On behalf of all of Frozenbyte, I’d like to thank everyone who participated and helped us with your feedback. We’ve come a long way since the start of Early Access, and we’ve been cooking up some neat changes in the past couple of months after the latest update.
As we mentioned on the Steam Store page, the price of the game will go up once Early Access ends, from $19.99/19.99€ to $21.99/21.99€. We’ll also be adding the awesome soundtrack by Ari Pulkkinen to the package.
The Linux and Mac versions are underway and we’ll hopefully have something to show soon!

Major Content Update #7 v0.07: New Levels And Gameplay Improvements!
Great news! :) Update v0.07 is now out and this time it's a major content update. Included are two new levels - the third Story Level and a new Challenge Level.
The Story level takes the players inside the mystical Astral Academy, where strange magic has taken control of inanimate objects. The Challenge Level this time is for Amadeus and it's called "A Wizard's Nightmare".

In addition to the new content, we’ve been working on several major gameplay changes as well, namely related to checkpoints and resurrection. We’ve had feedback during Early Access saying that the combat has been too easy and we agree, so instead of just making monsters hit harder or increase their numbers, our design went back to the drawing board.
The result is that checkpoints now only store level progression, and no longer resurrect players. Instead, if one of the heroes dies, you’ll have to reach their spirit with one of the other heroes that are still alive to resurrect them. In combat this takes a longer time, so you might have to fend off enemies to save your fellow companions. This opens up a lot of new possibilities for very cool and more difficult fights.
The visual effects for resurrection and the spirits are not finalized yet, but we’d love to hear feedback on the new system and the added levels. :)
We've also received lots of feedback about the character outfits in the Unlimited Mode and tutorial levels when playing in co-op. We've now added different coloured outfits for the Trine Heroes to be used when more than one people is playing the same character, and we hope that this will make playing together online easier and more fun when all players are able to instantly tell their characters apart from the others based on their outfit colors.

Early Access Update #5 v0.05 - More example levels, fixes and... who's that?
We just released update #5! We added three more example levels to the level editor and one concept level to the game's main menu, so check them out! I also recommend playing through the existing levels again, since you might run into something... or someone new. ;) Other updates include multiple fixes and improvements to both the editor and levels, so hopefully they should also run smoother now.
Oh, and remember to check out this blog post for a chance to get dialogue written by yourself voice-acted by the actual Trine Heroes to be used in custom levels. :)
Early Access Patch #4 - ALL Art Assets to the Public Editor
Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power has just gotten Early Access Update #4! We’ve decided to help out the modding community for Trine 3 by giving out ALL the art assets that we’ve made so far to the public editor users, and this includes everything that’s yet to be released in the actual game (even story level assets!).
We hope this will help you create even cooler new mods :)
There’s of course also been a lot all-around fixes, which you can spot from the full changelog below.

* Public editor cannot update itself. You need to delete editor_path.txt file from your game install directory. Editor needs to be installed into empty directory and your older changes will remain in the old editor folder.
* Public editor MODs will flash black when player takes damage. You can fix this by adding "ColorEffectEntity" anywhere into your custom level
NOTE: This patch is about 2GB due to the added assets.
Content Update: New Challenge Level!
We have added a new Challenge Room to the game. It's a brand new trial for Zoya. You can find this new level from the level selection under the Single Player option from the Main Menu. Go check it out! ;)

The Trine series will soon continue with Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, which will be first released as an Early Access game on Steam. It will be available for purchase next week on Tuesday April 21st.
