An Introduction to Power Cores Part 2

What’s up racers?

Friday, we introduced you to the Power Core system and gave a brief overview of the Active Power Cores that will be available to unlock when Turbo Golf Racing launches on August 4th. If you’ve not read that post yet, you can check it out here.

So let’s dive straight into the Passive Cores; all of which will be available for players to unlock on day one.

Passive Power Cores:

Passive Power Cores are ‘always on’ and you don’t need to worry about activating them mid-race. You can equip up to two Passive Cores in the available Power Core Sockets (one in each).

Passive Cores

Big Ball
Increases the size of your ball - If you’re struggling with a regular-sized ball, GO LARGE!

Curve Ball
Adds more spin to your ball, making it travel with more of a curve – The perfect Power Core for tackling those tricky corners.

Small Ball
Decreases the size of your ball – If you’re finding that a regular-sized ball is a bit to much to handle, drop down a size.

Spring Ball
Increases the bounciness of your ball – This is the Power Core for players that like to bounce their ball down the fairway.

Straight and Steady
Removes spin from your ball, making it travel straighter – If you find your shots are heading off-target, pop this Power Core in a socket.

Double Dash
Allows the car to dash twice whilst airborne – The perfect Power Core for those who like to travel by air.

Hot Head
Increases boost power, but depletes your boost bar faster – If Daft Punk made a Power Core it would be this one; use it to make it HARDER for opponents, BETTER for you as your car will be FASTER.

Sand Master
Car will not be slowed by bunkers – If you find yourself always in the bunker and not on the fairway, use this Passive Power Core so you can maintain your speed in the sand.

Experimenting with the different Power Cores is an important gameplay tactic to ensure you have the advantage on the course. With the right combination, you’ll be able to play to your strengths as a racer and sprint towards the finish flag. Which combination of Active and Passive Cores are you eyeing up?

More Power Cores will be added to Turbo Golf Racing in the future as free content updates, alongside new Seasons, cosmetic items, and even full courses.

An Introduction to Power Cores Part 1

What’s up racers?

We can’t believe that Turbo Golf Racing is literally less than a week away from launching! The excitement here at Hugecalf is at maximum overdrive and we can’t wait to join you in-game on August 4th.

Ahead of next week’s launch, we wanted to give you a brief overview of the game’s Power Core system. It’s a key component to getting a competitive edge on your opponents on the fairway, as this allows you to customise your vehicle to suit your playstyle.

Types of Power Core:

There are two types of Power Core: Passive and Active. As the name suggests, Passive Cores are ‘always on’ and you don’t need to worry about activating them mid-race. Active Cores on the other hand need to be triggered during a race with a simple button press, and have a short cooldown before they can be used again.

Power Core Sockets:

Each vehicle is equipped with two Power Core Sockets that give players the freedom to mix-and-match Power Cores to suit their playstyle. The Power Socket permits the use of either Passive or Active Power Cores, while the Passive Socket will only accept Passive Power Cores.

Unlocking Power Cores:

Power Cores are unlocked by completing various challenges in-game. For example, to unlock the Hot Head Power Core, you must complete five online matches.

Active Power Cores:

Today, we’re going to cover just the three Active Power Cores and we’ll have a separate post tomorrow looking at the Passive Power Cores.

Active Cores

Magnet
Magnetises the ball towards your car – The perfect Power Core for when you accidently overshoot the hole

Quick Flip
Performs a quick flip or roll to gain speed – Use this Power Core to avoid a rocket attack or to get a bit of a speed boost

Shock
Creates a short-range shockwave which pushes your ball away from your car – Need to clear the rough in a hurry? This is the Power Core for you!
Experimenting with different combinations of Power Cores is an important gameplay tactic to ensure you have the advantage on the course. With the right combination, you’ll be able to play to your strengths as a racer and sprint towards the finish flag.

More Power Cores will be added to Turbo Golf Racing in the future as free content updates, alongside new Seasons, cosmetic items, and even full courses.

In Sunday's post we’ll be looking at the Passive Power Cores.

The TGR servers are down for maintenance between 9:00 and 12:00 BST

What's up!

There will be a period of temporary downtime on the matchmaking and TGR servers so we can provide a patch.

This is to address a few exploits and some small bugs. It's also in place to help familiarise ourselves with patching in a 'live' environment. Servers will be back online by 12:00 BST, ready for the final weekend of the TGR beta! You can still play solo mode while the servers are offline.

The servers will be down from 9:00 BST - 12:00 BST.

- Fixed some level exploits
- Fixed a leaderboard bug
