So it begins...
The time for my vacation is finally here, sorry that the patch didn’t come on the 15th as promised. I used the extra time to weed out as many bugs as I could find. I have completely re-done the skeletons causing the lag issues and the room cap has also been raised to 85! A couple new mechanics have been added and a few tweaks to the system have been made too.
Before Reading Further In light of the holiday season I have hid 4 digital artbook keys within this and other "Patch Note" posts. You must already own the game to be able to activate one of these keys, the first to activate the first to receive!
(Edit) I almost forgot, Uagi-Saba now includes "Tiny Creature". The little creature you see hanging out with me on my Twitch streams is now available for all owners of Uagi to use for their own streams. Set your game to 1600 resolution windowed mode, Click the tiny orb on the lower right of the title screen, use obs to capture the Uagi screen, chroma key out the maroon color. Drag to bottom edge of screen, (minimized and the creature wont animate.) Page up changes body parts, page down changes face color, home restarts. Tiny Creature has a lot of history and I thought it only fair to provide it to all Uagi fans.
New Egg Hatch Clock And Mini Game The system for hatching eggs has been completely reworked. Eggs no longer have a shown health box and stat. Eggs now have an "Egg Spirit" that floats above, it beats like a heart. The faster it beats the healthier your egg. An eggs movement speed now increases based on how close it is to hatching. Along with these new changes I have introduced a light/sound click type min-game to help the player reduce egg hatch time. If you see a glowing ball appear in your eggs "Egg Spirit" click it and a series of orbs will appear. If you click them all fast enough it will reduce the egg hatch clock.
Smog As A Hazard Originally smog drifted near mystics but it was changed last minute to fix lag issues. Smog now drifts near mystics AND inhabitants. A few more modules now create smog as well making air purifiers crucial for a safe sanctuary.
End Game Info Some seem to be a little confused about endgame. The first major thing needed is for the Great Machine to appear. This will appear before you reach your room cap. The rest of what is needed to end the game is found in clues that can be read using the farsight skill on memory objects. These clues will then hint as to what else is needed.
End Game TIPS -When memory objects are destroyed during room renovations they are gone forever, Giant stones and broken computers will continue to appear if destroyed. There is a small chance though if you destroy too many broken computers and giant stones you may not find all you need to end the game, careful what you destroy.
-Objects related to end game: memory objects, broken computers, giant stones, the great machine.
-Mystic skills are needed to access all end game objects.
Essence Beetles Something you may have yet to notice are essence beetles, they will appear randomly on walls then disappear. Collect these to unlock a special in-game achievement.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do a patch so soon after release but things seem to have gotten a bit shaky. Some serious issues came to light involving crashes with hatching eggs in 1600, I made a new branch to help for the time being but I wanted to get the stable build out to everyone.
The build was so messy and so many things were changed that i needed to wipe saves. Sorry for the inconvenience I was not expecting this many issues.
Along with fixing a couple other game crash issues I have also made some tweaks to Uagi and have done some optimization that should help with the FPS problems people are having.
Patch Notes
-One of the bigger changes is max room cap, the cap is currently 50 and will go up the more I optimize Uagi with each patch.
-Rooms now have less light, the need for lanterns will be greater and makes for a better look.
-Fixed any Spine skeletons that had too many mesh points, this was causing lag.
-As much as I like keeping Uagi realistic sometimes one ends up with 3 males or 3 females, waiting for eggs to hatch and getting the same sex over and over kind of leads to a dead end for breeding with time spent.
There is now a better Male to Female ratio, this should make for a less frustrating experience.
-Egg hatch times have been reduced along with room charge times and build times, the player still gets a bonus from engineers just in smaller increments.
This makes for less waiting and more game play, I want the player to have a couple eggs going sooner than later.
-Though egg hatch times have been reduced health reduction times for eggs have been increased.
-1600 Egg crash has been fixed.
-Fixed crash involving the furnace or ferm tank when renovating a room.
-Mystics originally could get sick from smog clouds, smog clouds now drift towards mystics and will get them sick if they have low antibodies, this is where air purifiers come into play.
This still needs tweaking but I want to improve on it in future patches.
I wanted to make more changes but I had to get this patch out asap due to how bad the crashes and fps problems were, crunched hard to get this one out. But, lots of new ideas and fixes in store. Below are some things you can expect to see in the next major patch.

Mystic Drawing Contest
The Contest!
Throwing an art contest for Uagi-Saba. Entries will be asked to artistically create a mystic. Any skill level using any art medium, draw, sculpt, paint or craft your very own mystic by November 30th and you could win an Uagi-saba Digital Art Book or Steam key for yourself or for gifting.
Mystic body parts can be armour covered, drake-like, material made, beast like, or even earth made. Mystics often float but some have been seen grounded. They practice in ancient magics and are keepers of endless knowledge. They have pointy ears that usually hang ,some have horns in their adult stages and above.
Picking three winners. 1st place an Uagi-Saba Steam key and digital Art Book, second and third Uagi digital Art Books. Winners will be chosen release day. Tell you friends or anyone else who may be interested, the more entries the better.

YES! The biggest content patch since EA release. Super excited to get this into everyone's hands.
Got a lot of new content for ya just in time for Halloween! I have also made some general balance changes and regular bug fixes, those will be included in the patch notes below.
This is an optional update, to opt in right click Uagi-Saba in your Steam games list. Then click properties, click betas, then click "select the beta you would like to opt into" and select "uagitest".
This content will go live for the default build November 10th.

Mystic Skill System
After a long wait the mystic skill system is now live. All three skills that can be taught to mystics will help the player progress towards the end game. The three skills are "Smash", "Repair" and "Far Sight". First to even teach a skill to a mystic the mystic must have an intelligence rating of 4 or above. Depending on what skill you want to teach you also need to have a high enough rating of the corresponding stat. Smash (Strength) Repair(Intelligence) Far Sight (Wisdom).
Skill Objects
New objects have been introduced to be used with the new skill system.
Giant Stones- Giant boulders that can be broken apart with the Smash skill. What might you find?
Broken Computers-Use the Repair Skill to fix these old computers and learn more about what happened to sanctuary before the meteor hit.
Memory Objects-Use the Far Sight skill to read into old memories attached to these special objects. These objects have a swirling blue green orb above them. WARNING these can be destroyed and lost forever when renovating a room.
End Game
With this patch I decided to lock the Great Machine button to restrict players from ending the game after they have met the requirements, That will be coming in the next patch. I still wanted to introduce the skill system though in case players wanted to play around with it a bit and discover some hints about ending the game.
-If you would rather wait to see the ending complete I recommend waiting for full release November 30th to update.
-Requirements needed to end the game I will not disclose. "Hints can be found within the memories."
New Body Part Coloring System
I am happy to finally introduce the new body part coloring system. Previously a mystics entire body was colored with one tint based off three color genes. Now with the new system each individual body part has it's own three color genes. This vastly increases the possible mystic look combinations and makes each mystic really feel unique.
New Room Biomes
Originally for this patch I was only going to include the new vine room biome but since I finished the ancient room biome in time I thought I would hand that over as well. Bordered with old runes these warm rooms are filled with flat glowing stones, inspired by my love for Mignola and Guillermo. Come with their own spawns and a new plant species.

New Plant Pack
The first plant pack to be introduced into sanctuary. One new plant species has been included for each room biome type. For the default rooms biomes the "Cave Blades" hearty grass sharp enough to cut skin. For the cool vine biome, the "Stone Suckers" barnacle like growths that suck minerals from the stones they grow from. Lastly for the muggy ancient room biome I have created the "Fingers Of The Beast" a worm like tube plant that dances slowly in the dark.
Full Release
A little more than a month till full release on Steam, November 30th is the planned date!
Up until then I will be working on a few last minute things.

-Player will be able to press the button on the Great Machine and end the game if they meet the requirements.

-Added new "Other Upgrade" Self harvesting Fermentation tanks.
-Fixed problem with back cloud and haze creators not destroying with room renovations, would create overlapping clouds and haze.
-Increased the distance at which essence extractors receive a synergy bonus ic close to other extractors.
-Mushroom Gardens now cost 5 stone instead of 10 stone.
-The Improved mushroom farm upgrade now costs 75 Lore and 200 Essence instead of 150 Lore and 250 Essence.
-Added different color text within the info section of the HUB for easier reading.
-Added info about the skill system and skills within the HUB info section.
-Added info about holding shift to move camera faster in the HUB info section and in game controls menu.
The Next Few Months
The Rundown
Been working hard lately on the next big patch for Uagi and I wanted to run some things by players. This is not a patch but an announcement to discuss the plans for Uagi in the next few months, a road map some would call it.
My current goal is to release Uagi into Steam Full Access November 30th, this may still change but I am pretty set on this goal. Very excited. :)
The next big patch will be released either mid or end October depending on how things go. I also plan to do a second patch a couple weeks before full release, this will include the final end game content and should be rolling in mid November.
Uagi-Saba has now officially been in development 894 Days (2.4) years.

Upcoming Patch Content
I really want to take my time with this one so I can squeeze in a lot of new content. The next patch will be an optional update for the player and will include the following.
New And Improved Body Part Color System
Previously Mystics had three color genes that determined their overall skin pigment (covering the whole body). Now with the use of a helpful extension I am able to color individual body parts! This is something I have wanted since the start of development. Now each body part has it's own three unique color genes that determine its color. This makes for some pretty amazing color combinations and every player is guaranteed to have a completely unique mystic.
New Room Biomes
I will be introducing new room biomes with the next patch. Chiseled stones and vines make up this lovely new set of rooms. These will have their own unique set of object spawns.
Balance Of Resource Management And Creature Care
Resource management has started to become a bit more important than creature breeding in terms of balance. Uagi-Saba is a creature breeding game and I want it to feel more that way. some have said there is too much running around/busy work and that leaves less time for breeding and other things. I completely agree and I'm working on making changes to help with this. Though I still want there to be a challenge I don't want it too hard to hatch a few mystics and have a good time without stressing about resources and timers too much.
New Mystic Skill System
The player will be able to teach each of their mystics one of three skills depending on if mystics have the required stats. The skills are "Smash", "Repair" and "Decipher" and all will be needed to proceed to end game. Though the next patch will not have the game ending the player will still be able to teach and use skills.
Other Notable Changes
-Improved and expanded tutorial.
-New Mystic body parts.
-Balance changes to resources and other game mechanics.
-More lore, computer logs and more to read.
-A variety of new cave plants will be added in the next patch, more life and movement to sanctuary.

Coming to you with a small patch. Though small still very important as I have completely scrapped the old temperature system. The new one is much easier to understand and should make the game more enjoyable. Let's be honest Uagi-Saba is not a furnace simulator and in the end I don't want it to be the focus of the game. I was going to wait till I had the skill system completely working for this patch but I wanted to get the new temperature system out to the players.
I have also added three new back pieces to the mystic gene pool, added some polish to various assets and have made a few bug fixes.
A little more on the new temperature system
Furnaces now only have one temperature level instead of three and rather than have all kinds of ups and downs in temperature there is only one increase/decrease per cycle. The temperature difference that will take place is now shown to the player in the HUD so they now how much it will increase or decrease per cycle. I have removed the "Kelvin" temps from the HUD and now only Fahrenheit and Celsius remain. Long story short it is a much easier system to understand and should remove some of the frustrations some players have been having. 5D9TX-EN9BT-GTLDT
Fill your furnaces, wait for the change in temp to be displayed then make changes accordingly.

The next patch should be pretty hefty as it will contain the new mystic skill system, very excited about this as it will ultimately let the player progress to endgame. The player will be able to teach their mystic skills based on the stats their mystic is born with. The player can then use skills to smash large rocks, reveal secrets, decipher ancient texts and repair old computers to get closer to end game.

Greetings, Hope everyone has been enjoying their time in sanctuary.
Pretty excited with this new patch, got a few new major changes along with some important bug fixes.
One of the more important additions is the new mystic "Trait System". Mystics now have a small chance to be born with a "Trait" gene, a unique perk that can effect your mystic in negative or positive ways. A couple examples, the "Brute" trait will increase your mystics strength stat. The
"Long Runner" trait will drastically increase your mystics lifespan. A total of twelve traits have been added and more are to be added in the future. Currently trait bonuses stack so if parents pass the trait on to their children the offspring will receive 2x the bonus. This opens up some interesting new ideas and possibilities for the future.
In preparation for the coming mystic skill system I have also added two new main stats, Strength and Wisdom. Stats are also passed down from parent to offspring. Both Traits and Main Stats can be seen in the mystics HUD.
Another big change, all of the machine module buttons have been updated and all reflect their stages with similar colors. Green (Ready To Run) Orange (Running) Purple (Ready To harvest).
I have completely redone all of the mini map icons. The old ones made no sense and were very confusing. The new icons are more visually descriptive.

-Fixed problem where player could press the name card button multiple times even when the mystic HUD was already open.
-Added click sounds for clicking out of the mystic HUD.

-Fixed problem where some objects would not show their icon on the mini map.
-Fixed problem where some mini map icons would draw in the wrong place.
-Fixed problems with furnaces disappearing.
-Fixed issues where upgrade buttons in the HUB upgrade screens were not displaying correctly, some would highlighted for upgrade when player did not have the required resources.
-I have completely re-worked all buttons for most machines. The forge, furnace and stone oven have all had their button art and colors changed. Should be easier for the player to tell what stage their machines are in. "Green Off, "Orange" Running, "Purple" Finished, ready for harvest. Furnaces only have orange and green, "on" and "off".
-Fixed problem where multiple gene packets could be created off one mystic of the same sex after a gene packet had previously been destroyed.
-Clicking on build nodes will now destroy gene packets, clicking the backspace key will also cancel a breed.
-Fixed problem where naming a mystic would also re-name the mystic above or below.
-Workers will now eat and drink less frequently.
-Worker goodies are given out less often.
-Fixed problem where name change button for mystics could not be pressed.
-Added two new main stats, Strength and Wisdom. These will effect the skills coming in the next big patch.
