Ultimechs Tournaments
We've also seen interest from the community to host tournaments for the game! If you're hosting a tournament, please reach out to us on the official Ultimechs Discord so we can share it!
Finally, while we're very happy with the launch yesterday, we're well aware of some issues that have been found in the build that we are investigating and looking to fix in the near future. These include:
We’re currently experiencing some server difficulties in regards to the friends and party systems in the game. Players can sometimes get disconnected from the servers which will make them appear as offline briefly. This prevents players from interacting with the social menu, match making and the UltiPass. This can be particularly confusing if you’re the host of a party as you lose connection to the party and might require a restart of the game for all party members.
If you buy UltiCoins or skip UltiPass tiers then you might have to restart the game to be able to see the results reflected in the menu.
Should you enter the mech select environment alone before a match starts, that means the opponent has lost connection. When this happens players are sent to the main menu.
On some versions of the Pico Neo 3 Link players might get a recurring “Update your system” notification that leads to the store with no available updates. If canceled you will return to the game, but it may pop up again later.
In the main menu, recentering your playspace will not update your height currently.
When loading into the main menu, players sometimes load into the wrong position with recentering not centering the player correctly. Restarting the game fixes this problem.
Some text in the game is currently displayed incorrectly in localized languages.
Some of these issues will be more prevalent during peak hours of player traffic. We're hard at work on getting these bugs fixed as soon as possible, and we ask for your understanding! Besides that, we hope you have fun playing the game in the first weekend of Ultimechs!

Q&A with Developers
Ultimechs is a very fast paced game, but also a game that requires precision. What are you doing to make this game accessible and fun, but also a place where you can show of your skills?
Clint (Tech Art & 3D):As we've developed the game, we've tried different speeds of how quickly the player moves, how quickly the ball moves, and the power of the hits.
Throughout that process we found that, the faster you moved, and the quicker you could dash upfield and backfield to switch from offense to defense that became super important. You would move forward into offense, That player would counter, and would swing the ball right back towards your side, so you would like to get back as quickly as possible. So that you could ready your defense with your gloves.
So with that in mind we found a good balance where players could move very quickly by dashing, but also still feel in control and be able to hit their targets without feeling motion sick.
The speeds of the game is very similar to to Fussball in a lot of ways. As an example, one of the strategies of is to be as close to the action as you can, and then curve your glove, and maybe even curve the ball to actually make the shot work. Because a straight shot won't always be on target.
To calculate the trajectory of the ball and the glove to get some optimal hits in almost feels like being a rocket physicist in some ways. As an example, one technique is that you can set yourself up by hitting the ball to the left corner wall, to then be ready for your other glove to intercept it for an open goal.
Do you have any tips for future players who are looking to try out the game?
Bo (Concept Artist):A newbie mistake is often times to turn around to follow the ball, but what I realized pretty quick is that you don't have time to turn around in matches - you just have to trust that you know where the ball is and back up to your goal as fast as you can and try to keep the ball in front of you.
Also, having the ball in the center of the arena is the riskiest zone as it's the place where everyone can use their supercharges to get powerful shots at your goal. So a good way to to avoid that is to try to keep the ball to the sides of the arena instead, closer to the walls.
Counter attacks can also be pretty strong, one time I managed to defend my goal by using a supercharge, which sent the ball flying across the entire arena into the opponents goal. Those moments can feel pretty epic.
