New Unit Designer is out now!

The game now features a completely new unit designer. This time, rather than instructing the factory how to build the unit, the player is be able to design the unit by freely snapping modules together. This allows for a much faster and easier creation of complex units.

Check out the preview from last week to get an idea how it works:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ko0a3x3mdk
Note: You can still use the old "Linear" unit designer if you wish. To switch to the old unit designer: go to Options -> Other -> Fabrication, and click the appropriate designer icon.

Converting Units For Use With the New Designer

To convert units created with the old Linear Unit Designer, please follow these steps:

  • Enable the Snap Designer; (Options -> Other -> Fabrication; enabled by default)
  • When in game, go to Unit Gallery and Clone the units you wish to convert;
  • The newly cloned unit will be automatically converted for use with the new Snap Designer;

Alternative Unit Designer update delayed until March 29th, Designer Preview

The upcoming unit designer update will arrive a week later than planned (March 29, instead of March 22). There are still a few details to iron out before this feature can be rolled out. Sorry for the delay.

Meanwhile, here's a preview of the new designer in action:

Upcoming Update: Alternative Unit Designer

Due to popular demand and recognition of the need to create more complex units faster the game will be getting a new, alternative way to design units. This time, rather than instructing the factory how to build the unit, the player will be able to design the unit by freely snapping modules together. The factory then will figure out how to fabricate the unit automatically.

Existing unit design process will remain a valid and equivalent way to design units.

March 22nd

The update is scheduled for March 22nd.

Update: New Skirmish/Multiplayer Map Added

While work continues on the next major update, in the meantime, this week the game gets a new skirmish map.
