April Tech Update 1



Hello everyone! Lots of behind the sceens stuff went on this week. The demo has been submitted to steam with all the finalized HUD, textures, the new player controls posters, as well as a bunch of other items you will find throughout UnderEarth.

Tuesday April 12th we will have our next live broadcast on our official Twitch.tv channel - twitch.tv/Crackerjackgames. Our special guest will be Kerrigan who does both programing and level designs. Come join us!

Again, we are going to IndieCade April 30th and May 1st. If your at IndieCade or in the NYC area come visit us! We will be walking around chatting with people and participating in the Show and Tell. We are just waiting for the confirmation of the time and date.

Now on to this weeks tech update!

Joe M. – Programmer

Finalizing documents. Corrected Half-Lift to move and lift objects with correct collision.



John – Senior 3D Artist

Is working on traversal models and finalizing them.



Allison – Lead 3D Artist

Has finished extra props for both the upper and lower blocks.



Joe W. – Lead Designer

Upper blocks are 100% free and clear of all bugs. Delivery tube and Electrical processing being finalized with Kerrigan.



Kerrigan – Junior Level Designer

The Oxygen Garden has now been fully completed and implemented. Delivery Tube and Electrical processing being finalized with Joe W.

March Tech Update 4



Hello everyone!

We at CrackerJack Games hope everyone had a great and safe holiday this weekend. Even though it was a holiday week with lots of family events for everyone there was plenty of work done.

Also, if you missed the great live broadcast of "The History of UnderEarth" this past week, the first part is available to watch right here on our Steam page as well as Youtube.

Let us get into all the details for this week and wait till you see some of these screen shots from the finalized area's.

Joe M. – Programmer

Worked on in game profiles and is continuing to expand on them. Minor bug fixes and adjustments along the way.



John – Senior 3D Artist

Updated and finalized lighting effects for the full game. John will be away for the next week so we will catch up with him when he’s back.



Allison – Lead 3D Artist

Has been hard at work designing even more props for all area’s including the mess hall, living quarters, labs, maintenance rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry units. Also, she has been working with Kerrigan finalizing plant textures and other textures for lab experiments.



Joe W. – Lead Designer

Replaced duct work with all the new textures to remove all bugs in the entire facility. New posters added into upper blocks as well as the new game control poster that highlights in game controls for players. Currently placing all research documents and posters in lower blocks.



Kerrigan – Junior Level Designer

Has been finalizing all plant experiments within all applicable labs as well as finalizing chemical lockers in all applicable labs. Has been working on updating plant textures and lab experiment textures with Alison.



If you are in the New York City area during April 30th and May 1st we will be participating in Indiecade at The Museum of the Moving Image. Hope to see some of you there!

March Tech Update 3



Hello everyone and welcome to the next Tech installment. The demo release is being updated with the newest HUD and coding and will be released shortly. We want you to get a taste of the finalized HUD interactions and other modifications.

Joe M. – Programmer

Has been activating, testing, and placing all the new indicators inside the HUD. Group testing HUD indicators and other modifications with Joe W and Kerrigan.



John – Senior 3D Artist

Has been spending his time adding more of the new textures to the machines and hardware.



Allison – Lead 3D Artist

Has been experimenting with glass effects and shape for HUD. Also tested new indicators as well as testing glass effects in game.



Joe W. – Lead Designer

Finalized all upper blocks and has moved to finalizing the lower blocks. Has been group testing with Joe M. and Kerrigan.



Kerrigan – Junior Level Designer

Finalized crowbar and ventilation sequences. Busy working on new maya sequences. Group testing of newest codes and modifications with both Joe’s.

March Tech Update 2



Hello everyone! We have some fantastic news coming up this week regarding the UnderEarth demo so keep an eye out. Lets see what everyone has been working on.

Joe M. – Programmer

He rewrote some of the toolbox interface that was still having a few bugs. Helped build out the depot’s for the demo. Bug fixing with Joe W.

John – Senior 3D Artist

Has been really making things beautiful by finalizing textures. Here’s the blank pipe from last week with some of its new textures.



Allison – Lead 3D Artist

Has designed and added new HUD features. Designed new props and indexed them to game. She will be walking around in game and placing them this coming week.



Joe W. – Lead Designer

Has spent a lot of time teaming up with Joe M. and Kerrigan to finish some high priority bugs. Finished the PC and MAC demo’s.



Kerrigan – Junior Level Designer

Half lift is now working with proper collisions. Air vents now bending properly when the crowbar is used to manipulate them. Bug fixing with Joe W.

March Tech Update 1



Hello everyone! We hope you've had a great week. First off, we would like to thank everyone that came to the UnderEarth Beta broadcast. We hope you enjoyed checking out the game and talking with the developers.

This has been a jam packed week with work for the developers. The HUD you are seeing in these screen shots is a place holder.

Joe M. – Programmer

He corrected a bad mesh with the oxygen tank in the mid blocks. Tweaked codes for the lower blocks. Trolled the team with one of his new code modules.



John – Senior 3D Artist

Has been very busy updating and optimizing models and textures.



Allison – Lead 3D Artist

Redesigned the HUD and is polishing it off. She also started on brand new art for Trading Cards. Check out this awesome piece.



Joe W. – Lead Designer

Worked on code modules and tweaked codes for upper blocks. Drew new in game schematics. Preping Demo for steam launch! Got trolled by Joseph M.



Kerrigan – Junior Level Designer

Reworked the toolbox inventory system. She installed a vending machine for the O2 Garden. Corrected a bug with the crowbar.



It has been a really busy week but the developers are in great spirits! Check back next week to see how development is coming along.

February Tech Update 4



This week has been packed with activity! The dev's have been working on some great stuff. This is a very picture intense post.

Joe M. – Programmer

Corrected the crouching flashlight bug. Reprogrammed some of the chemical meshes. The chemical weld plates are now able to change meshes and materials when touched.



John – Senior 3D Artist

Has been finishing and cleaning multiple in game models. Here is a preview of one of the new models that he’s created.



Allison – Lead 3D Artist

More achievements created. She is also working on brand new art for all the trading cards. Can’t wait to see them!



Joe W. – Lead Designer

Has been spending his time this week optimizing the upper blocks.



Kerrigan – Junior Level Designer

She also finished the maintenance room puzzle coding. Building new vending machine for Oxygen Lab and fixing plant textured. She also has been working hard on making everything beautifully dirty and beat up. Microscope is completed and working beautifully.

February Tech Update 3



Welcome to the third installment of tech updates for UnderEarth. The developers have been keeping busy. Let's see what they were up to this week.

Joe M. – Programmer

Finished fixing all the camera bugs, then finished fixing the sound bugs. While exploring and test he found a collision bug and it is being worked on.



John – Senior 3D Artist

Working his magic and finishing up the artwork and broadcasting package.

Allison – Lead 3D Artist

Has been busy working on more achievement icons. Spent time play testing completed environments.



Joe W. – Lead Designer

Spent time playtesting environments and stress testing. Found some environmental bugs and fixed them as he tested.



Kerrigan – Junior Level Designer

Has been very hard at work polishing the coding for the end game puzzles. Has also been working on the puzzle visuals and effects.
