------------- We have some news to share about the release date of Undungeon
Ever since we launched our Steam page in 2019, we have been aiming for the 4th quarter of this year as our approximate release date. However now, at the end of a chaotic twelve months mess called "2020", we have to push the launch to the next year.
After overcoming a series of challenges that included relocating our office and welcoming new people into our team, we finally managed to fully put the project back on track. Regrouped and focused, we now have a vision that is solid than ever. That said, we can firmly announce that Undungeonwill be released in Q2 of 2021.
We hope that you guys understand our decision. With so many delays happening this year, it's become almost comical to read about yet another game being postponed. Our intentions are nevertheless clear: obviously, we do not want to bring out an unfinished or poorly polished product. And to complete the game, we are going to need more time.
Thank you everyone who has been a part of our community for all these years, especially for our Kickstarter backers. You are awesome and we promise that we will do our absolute best to deliver.
Join the community and share your feedback with us directly:
The final version of Undungeon Arena will be available for download on October 29.

Vote for Undungeon at Digital Dragons Indie Showcase
Undungeon is a part of Digital Dragons 2020 Indie Showcase!
I shall be brief this time for I have little time, and I reckon so do you. Forgive my haste: something big is coming and we have to be prepared.
We were finally able to sort through some of the feedback that humans provided. Changes are already being made. If you are ready, I shall proceed to instruct you about some of them.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
ENEMY BEHAVIOR
You have to be even more careful now, Herald. Your foes have become much more intelligent. Now they can flank you, heal more effectively, make better use of throwable weapons like explosives and knives and take cover.
Besides, you will be able to distinguish enemies' emotions in the heat of a battle.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
NEW MAP ENCOUNTERS
Unwelcome news, Herald: you will occasionally be chased while traversing the dimension map. Which means more random encounters, naturally. You will be able to keep track of merchants moving from one place to another. Also, bandit makeshift camps will be marked on your map. They will spawn enemies regularly unless you wipe them out.
-(WORK IN PROGRESS)-
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
TRANSITION BETWEEN DIMENSIONS
Just a visual demonstration of a shift between dimensions, Herald. A part of the future interdimensional traveling system.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
DYNAMIC MUSIC
Humans had asked for a richer musical score and therefore we created a number of multi-layered tracks that will serve as an accompaniment to your battles. The music will intensify or subside depending on different factors like the amount of health you have, for one thing. Here, observe the work so far, but keep in mind that this is still being improved:
That is all I have for you today, Herald. I believe we can dispense with the goodbye formalities and get on managing our own affairs. There is still so much to do.
Dear God, it has been a long time since our last contact! I thought I'd never reach you! My God that interference! It's getting heavier by the day. Our H.U.B. engineers blame it on the stronger Shift tides, however I doubt that simple expanation may be valid here... Although I hope they are right, Herald. I really do.
But forgive me for this long and needless foreplay. We should get to the point right away for there is too much I have to tell you.
Your exploratory mission to the Wastelands was being watched closely by the Earth inhabitants. Worry not: everything went smooth, you coped brilliantly with your assignment. However, we have been receiving some propositions from humans (or "feedback" as they call it) regarding our handling of the Shift mission in general. I have to share some of it with you, Herald, since we will soon start making adjustments to our processes based on this feedback I mentioned.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Gameplay
We need to summon other Heralds! As soon as possible too: humans are wondering what happened to them. Besides, we could absolutely use reinforcement. The second Herald is under development, the third one is in the pipeline.
We should refine the Herald upgrade system. It needs to be more user friendly, the upgrades—more accessible. Character customization may be moved from the menu to the save game mirrors. Also, we are considering adding leveling to the upgrade system.
Fewer and more expensive items should drop from the destructible environmental elements.
The trading system (prices in particular) should be tweaked. When trading, you will see real prices a merchant offers (as of now, you see "system" prices). Also, the trading interface will become more intuitive.
Energy and stamina systems should be revised.
Map traversing: we should increase movement speed (and add the ability to speed up or slow down by controlling essence consumption), add more rewards and variety to the random encounters, include more different kinds of NPCs like merchants and bandits.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Dialogues
Some bulky lines should be shortened, especially if they don't move the story forward or don't expand the lore in any way. In addition, texts still need some proofreading and edits here and there.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Music/Sound
Without a shadow of a doubt, Herald, we need a richer musical accompaniment! We are already preparing a number of tracks, dynamic score included (numbers with changing intensity: Exploration/Battle music).
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
User Interface/Controls
Adding more gameplay tips should definitely be considered. Some of the mechanics appear to be obscure to the players.
We should enhance the global map navigation and overall map UI quality & comprehensibility. Besides that, key rebinding should be added and gamepad scroll feedback—improved.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
We are done with that for today, Herald. Next few months will be rough—implementing all this will not be easy. But I am sure we will manage. As far as our communication goes, I will make sure to poke our H.U.B. engineers about that interference. Do not worry: they will work something out. We should get in touch monthly. It is crucial.
We wanted to say "Thank you" for checking out our newly released demo version at the Steam Game Festival.
The feedback has been positive overall, which is good. Though even better is the fact that you guys took your time to give us some constructive criticism which will help us improve Undungeon and let us give you a better game at release.
However, a better game is not enough for us. We want it to be the best. Therefore, we DeMAnD mORe FeEdBaCk. Nah, just kidding, don't worry: of course we only ask you to give us more of that. Moveover, we have an encouraging offer you (hopefully) won't be able to refuse.
3 random people who participate in this Undungeon demo survey and also 3 people who give us the best (most informative, useful, interesting) feedback will receive Undungeon Steam keys. Which means "an access to the full game at release".
