As developers, we've been deeply grateful for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm you've shown for our games.
However, as much as we've cherished your feedback and excitement, we must address some challenges we've encountered along the way. When we embarked on the journey of creating United Assault - Normandy '44, we never anticipated the immense success it would become. Initially targeting the Nintendo Switch, the game's unexpected popularity brought with it both joy and unforeseen technical hurdles.
As we've continued to support and improve our games, we've encountered limitations in their structure and performance that, regrettably, cannot be easily overcome without significant restructuring. The prospect of rewriting the entire game is daunting, not only from a technical standpoint but also considering the potential impact on the experience you've come to love.
That's why we're reaching out to you, our valued community, for your input and guidance. We're considering the possibility of United Assault 2, a fresh start that would allow us to address the shortcomings of the original games while staying true to the spirit of the series. But we don't want to embark on this journey without your voices being heard.
Would you be interested in a United Assault 2? If so, what settings, features, and directions would you like to see explored? We want to involve you from the very beginning, offering open access to early development builds and fostering a collaborative relationship throughout the process.

New Weapons: Equip yourself with five powerful new weapons to dominate the battlefield:
P38: A classic German pistol known for its precision and reliability. MP34: A submachine gun perfect for close-quarters combat. Volkssturmgewehr: A versatile rifle ideal for a variety of situations. G43: A semi-automatic rifle with pinpoint accuracy. FG42: A fearsome light machine gun that delivers devastating firepower. Bonus Campaign Achievements We are aware of the issue some Achievements of the Bonus Campaign might not unlock. Internal logs show the correct activities and everything should work. However, for some reason these achievements are very unreliable. We have made some changes, but it is not a final solution to the problem.
We have opend a developer support ticket to Valve and hope to find the cause of the issue and hope to fully solve it in short time.

Important Informations
We started an update progress to Unreal Engine 5 a while ago and abandoned it because of the sheer number of bugs and issues the upgrade brought with it. This time it took us roughly a month to get the game fully working on UE5 with a lot of bugs fixed early on. However there is a potential this update brought with it new until unnoticed bugs we did not catch. Please report all bugs so we are able to fix them!
The game was not designed around Ray Tracing, which means especially interiours can be to dark at certain weather conditions. We are aware of this and want to correct this with future updates!
Savegames and Progression
The update to Unreal Engine 5 forced us to rework savegame compatibility. This means with this update Settings and Progressions are reset. There is a way to recover your old progression but this might cause game crashes.
Recovering Progress at your own risk:
Open the folder C:\Users\DUsername\AppData\Local\UnitedAssault\Saved\SaveGames
Create a subfolder called BotB if it does not already exist
Copy the file BotB_Progression.sav into the new BotB Subfolder
Playing the legccy Unreal Engine 4 game (v1.1.0)
The old Unreal Engine 4 version of the game is available legacy branch.

United Assault - Next
The next and final installment of the United Assault Trilogy is currently in development. We won't sahre any details on this project yet. We just want you to know a new Title is in development and will introduce new features which will again be patched intho Normandy '44 and Battle of the Bulge.
United Assault - Battle of the Bulge
We have collected a lot of feedback on Battle of the Bulge and decided we are going a different route then with Normandy '44! There will be no map expansion and rather a map enhancement. We will add more details, locations and improvements into the existing map. Besides this Battle of the Bluge will recieve Feature and Weapon updates from United Assault - Next.
The Playstation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series versions are in certification and will release this year!
United Assault - Normandy '44
Normandy '44 will continue to recieve bug fix updates and after the launch of United Assault - Next, it will get some new weapon unlocks.
Unreal Engine 5
We have spent a lot of time in the past weeks to check the possibilities of a Unreal Engine 5 update. The game is partly working on the new engine but we decided to cancel this effort. The switch to UE5 would mean larger reworks which would end the compatibility to already released Console versions. Meaning there would never be any update to those versions ever again. And this is a step we won't take.

This update is a massive milestone for the future of United Assault! After several month of development we can finally unleash the performance boost! United Assault Normandy '44 and Battle of the Bulge are where mostly CPU limited games due tue the large number of AI on the map. The bottleneck in this case was the default navigation mesh used by Unreal Engine 4.
United Assault does not render every AI across the map but they are still present and are active across the entire map (at a lower update rate) to simulate the true dynamic nature of the game. This came with the downside of having up to 1000 AI actors navigating the same navigation mesh at any time.
We have now replaced the default Unreal Engine Navigation System with a proprietary solution which increased cpu limited performance up to 45%!

United Assault - Battle of the Bulge is an open world rogue lite FPS set in 1944's depiction of the Ardennes. As a british paratrooper you are assigned to a mission, few would qualify for. You are tasked to infiltrate enemy territory and locate, infiltrate and destroy one of germany's secret V2 factories in the Ardennes. You'll come along heavy enemy resistance, try to weaken their defense by destroying their tanks, equipment and by gathering secret documents.
