:urbanhappy:

There should be no issues with your save-games since it's still the same update. Please let us know if things are f♥♥♥ed up :urbaninsane:

Thank yall for your amazing patience and love for the game. I'm a solo developer :urbanspraycan: so all comments and positive words count and mean a lot.

Ahoy!

*Bleep*, *bleep*, *bleep* (looping forever...)

To those of you who have experienced an annoying loop of *bleep* when pressing NEW GAME in the intro menu in Update 3.0.0.1, we have good news for you. An update is being uploaded within the next 24 hours*, so you can play and enjoy the game without the bug. The update will still be called 3.0.0.1.

The audio file was set to loop forever (true instead of false)...

Here's a way to go about the bug temporarily:

- Press NEW GAME
- In the Level Menu press MAIN MENU
- Press CONTINUE
- The never-ending *bleep* should be gone :urbanhappy:

Thanks for your patience yall

* Unfortunately my laptop keyboard is broken (keys d and c don't work) so I have to copy/paste the letters because I didn't bring my extra keyboard to where I am now (far away from my workspace... from anything...) BUT the steam command prompt (where I am uploading the patch) won't allow me to copy/paste any letters into it, so it won't be fixed/uploaded until July 16th where I have my extra keyboard and back at the workspace. Sorry about that :urbaninsane:

You Won't Make It Alone, Pirate!

Even though it might be tempting to play Urban Pirate as a single-player game, and go through the tough struggle it is, to rise from a petty thief to an urban pirate, this game has a meta structure of street-smart guides which can help you, change your style, or perhaps inspire you to change your direction.

@ADHDan on YouTube

Back when the urban pirates were just starting to appear, we saw YouTubers who shared their experience in order to show off their skills and have a laugh while playing a game in development. This quickly helped both us on the developing side but also fellow players who could see that several aspects of the game could be played in various ways (e.g. skating the streets and making some nice combos seemed at first incomprehensible for one player :urbaninsane: but after watching another player's video he got inspired to skate in new way).

@Grandpuh Ty "Lean 2 Skate" on YouTube

Later when the final game was launched a fellow pirate had trouble escaping the store detective - simply because she hadn't thought of jumping over those benches and banana peels. This was her reply:

And she was right. She did what any true pirate would do: watch, learn and RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN :urbanhappy::urbanhappy: Eventually Tiff got it and she may be the first pirate to show off her jetpack, some painted trains or a disguise kit? Life as an urban pirate is unpredictable :urbanspraycan:

Rencently Funky Fred started his Comprehensive Guide For Hating Yourself/Playing Urban Pirates which is great fun, especially if you remember reading those old gaming magazines that had walkthroughs and cheats! You should check it out.

We believe that this community of urban pirates who share knowledge and experiences is the best way to exprience the whole game, for us, the devs, but also for the players. The guide included in the game is just a template of inspiration on how to survive and become more than a petty thief. When we were kids we used to learn from our friends, siblings, cousins, uncle and aunts when we were screwed in a game and needed some inspiration on how to tackle the levels. There was no www or Let's Plays. Now we have the whole world. A whole world of urban pirates who will slowly start showing off weed farms, 360 flips, whole-cars and a city on fire.

A BIG shoutout to all you street rats and slum lords who made it through the tough beginning and posted videos! A world of sun, cold drinks and hammocks awaits you! :urbanhappy::dirtymoney:

:urbansocial:Keep sharing and showing off :urbansocial:

Update 3.0.0.1 Born For Shoplifting

Fellow pirates!!

We fixed the upgrade 'Born For Shoplifting' so that you actually get the upgrade, and a few other things that was bugging.

Some of you might receive an ERROR message when launching your awesome and unique save-game... This is, of course, something that could cause mutiny and pissed off pirates, we know that... But we figured you would rather want a full game with the upgrades right rather than the previous version where 'Born For Shoplifting' didn't get activated?

If you're working on a Let's Play and find it unreasonable to continue (in case you get the ERROR message and have to start over) we suggest you think twice. Remember that Urban Pirate is non-linear and you might just benefit from giving the first levels another go. If you're busy documenting the very last levels and your score is insane, all we can say is... arrrghhh!!!!

We're sorry bout that...

Steal These Cards!

Pirate Update 3.0.0.0: Fixed Sound Issues 06-23-2016

Please let the Steam client update Urban Pirate before launching. A 'v. 3.0.0.0' will appear in the title menu once it's updated.

Players may have experienced an inconsistent soundtrack:

  • Missing background music
    and
  • No music in mini-games (making the Party Level somewhat meaningless x/

All music and sounds should be working now!

Also we updated the Upgrade Menu to display local, in-game acheivements.

Have fun, stay sane and AHOY!

NEW! Update 2.0.0.2: Let The Music Play!

EDIT: We are still experiencing playback issues with the soundtrack. We're working as fast as we can to fix this!

Please take 3 minutes and let Steam update the game on your system. Then the following fixes will be installed:

Bug fixes:

  • Changed the audio format of the soundtrack to be .wav instead of .mp3 to stabilize (not working still, still unstable)
  • Fixed bug: "Pusher Mission" displays local Achievement in Upgrade Menu when you have completed the checklist and level 3 (bonus mission not obligatory) and you will gain a bonus paid in Street Credit
  • Fixed bug: Sanity Level did not increase if Bad Sleep was prompted simultaniously in level >= 8
  • Fixed bug: Tank did not disappear when fight level was over

Enjoy and stay sane!

Fixing Issues With the MP3 Soundtrack

As some may have noticed the background music files do not always trigger when the mini-games launc. Also some may have noticed that the entire soundtrack is available as mp3s in the game's install folder!

We are replacing all the mp3s in the build with wav-files in order to keep it more clean and secure.
