Versus v1.07 now live!

Versus has updated to version 1.07

Added the first of the new weapons: the AK47. Also the name of your primary weapon is now shown in the player HUD.

Steam Hammer's range has been reduced by 20% but firepower/damage increased by 50%

The following new achievements have been added related to the AK47 and the new Flamer Boss: Remote Lethal, Firestorm, Frenzied, Close Call and Scorched

Planned for next update 1.08: More player customization options linked to new player rank system, new weapons and achievements!

Versus v.106 now live!

Versus has updated to version 1.06 (version is shown in the lower left of the loading screen)

Game

New Flamethrower Boss!

This Boss is equipped with a M2 flamethrower firing in 3 second bursts, with an effective range of about 10 meters.

With medium-high armor, he will attempt to position himself within that range before firing. When his health drops below 30%, there is a 90% chance his fuel tanks will catch fire. When this happens, he will run in an attempt to reach you before exploding.


Difficulty Level setting

Versus now includes a difficulty setting on the main menu (Easy-Normal-Hard). Normal being the current difficulty. Use Hard to score more Xp per kill and level up faster but face more runners and increased boss armor and damage.

Weapons

Since the MGL is now single reload, further increased its damage and radius by 25%. With Rage and No Reload, the MGL is now an effective boss killer as it was designed to be :)

Misc

15% more frequent coin drops allowing more building between waves.

Versus 1.05 now live!

Some of you have been testing this over the last two days :)


Game

By popular request, you can now build between waves in Tactical Mode:

- Some enemies and bosses will now drop coins when killed. Coins can be used to buy new barricades, sentry guns, weapon stations, mines and hand grenades between waves.

- Regular enemies drop 50 coins and bosses up to 250.

- Each player can carry up to 10,000 coins at any time.

- Coins can be pulled with Powerup Hook and Snare.

- By default you will have 30 seconds to build between each wave. If you do not want to build between a wave, hit the Space bar or gamepad X button to advance to the next wave.

- You can remove damaged barricades and build new ones in their place. By hovering the crosshairs over a barricade or item, you will be able to see how many coins you will get in return when removing it. I.e: if you bought the object and it is still undamaged, you get 100% of its value back. If an object is damaged or you did not buy it, you can remove it but will not get coins in return.

A reminder: If you prefer new barricades to 'snap' into place, turn On the build helper grid in the left side menu. If you want to freely place items, turn Off the build grid.


Perks

Added the Laser Guided perk. This perk is especially useful for players using gamepads since it's easier to visualize your weapon fire direction. Laser Guided also adds another 10% more projectile range. Important: when the game adds new perks, check your Auto-Perk list is still set up correctly just in case new perks have been inserted.


Weapons

When switching weapons during reloading, you can now immediately fire the other weapon if it has ammo. The reload sequence will be cancelled and you no longer need to wait for the whole reload to complete before being able to fire again.


Enemies

Boss armor increase is now capped. Bosses will no longer grow too strong to kill with a reasonable number of ammunition. To balance this, the boss spawn rate has increased 12.5%


Misc.

You now have more control over the number of dead corpses with the 'Corpses Density' slider in the Options.



Versus version 1.01

Versus updated to its first ever update version 1.01; here's a list of changes and additions made since game launch:

Thanks to everyone for the constructive feedback so far! More requested additions are coming in version 1.02


On-line

You can now join in a game-in-progress both during the build-phase and the in-game phase. (Of course this means you can start an on-line game by yourself as well).


Tactical Wave Mode

You can now repair structures in-between waves. Barricade outlines will show the current status of barricades near your position. Move near an object to start repairing it.
Repair speed will depend on the barricade's armor, i.e. wood barricades will repair quickly, concrete and Hesco much slower.


Powerups

No Reload now instantly refills your ammo if you were reloading at the time of pickup

Hand Grenade crates now have a strong orange explosion tag/mark on them to set them visually more apart from weapon grenades

Increased powerup drop rate by 10%


Bosses

Trapper Boss: has 10% slower speed, 30% less armor, 30% less melee radius. Xp gained from his kill goes from 6000 to 5000.
Demolition Boss: has 15% slower speed
M61 Boss: movement speed increased 30%
Rotor Boss: increased visibility of rocket projectiles
The M61, Rotor and Mortar bosses will attack sooner.

More boss AI changes are planned for the next update.


Build Phase

Structure/Object Build Snap: If you want objects to 'snap' into place, display the Helper Grid (left icon during build phase). If you want to freely place objects, turn off the Helper Grid.

Reduced pricing for several objects.


Friendly Fire

You can now set Friendly Fire to off for on-line or local coop games (apart from low, medium and high)


Player

Revival: You now get 8 seconds of invulnerability when revived instead of 5.

Increased walking backwards speed by 35%


Key Mapping

on Windows, Shift and CTRL should now be correctly mappable

Middle Mouse Button and extra buttons 4 and 5 should now be mappable

Added a 'Reset Controls' option to the menu to set them back to defaults


Weapons

USP: Reduced range by 15% and damage by 30%
MGL: Increased damage by 20% but reload speed increased by 30%


Misc

Added Reload timer + circle at the crosshairs/cursor

Added more blood fx when shooting an enemy
