Campaign Mode demo now available inside single-player menu
A single-level demo of the Campaign Mode has been added. This is the starting point for me to build a rich and sophisticated 1v1 single-player experience.
Technical foundations already implemented: - A complex AI framework - Stamina system that affects AI character's behaviours, choice of animations, as well as animation speeds. - AI knows the reach of each of its punches for being able to choose an appropriate attack move based on changing situation. - attacking Arm utilizes Inverse-Kinematics so the punches will point to target positions (player's head, chest etc) and they are less likely to penetrate into player character's model. - Groundwork has been done to simulate AI's "reaction speed". More capable AI will be able to adjust punching direction faster based on player movement so their punches are more difficult to dodge. - Each animation comes with unique sound clips and facial animations.
The system will be constantly enriched and fine-tuned.
Spectator Camera Update
In PVP games, spectator camera will now rotate between 2 modes to dynamically change distance and angle. When a player hits the opponent with a heavy punch, the game will automatically switch into highlight camera to add more sensation.
Minor bug fix
- Safety line position problem fixed when a match is found during the time the lift is running in Robot-Infinity mode. - Fixed the bug that makes the lift buttons unable to use the second time entering Robot Infinity mode after auto-matchmaking succeeded in Robot infinity mode.
User Interface Refined
- Optimized UI to reduce ambiguity and make things more intuitive. - Button-pressing locomotion is activated by default.
Interface Usability Update
- The "Essential tips", "Dev message" and have been moved into a section called "Information" in the title screen together with development roadmap. - Dedicated Login screen before title screen is removed. Players can still log in using the title screen. - Added texts to multiplayer UI panel to inform new players that they can play Robot-Infinity mode and do background match-making. A new button has been added for players to go to Robot-Infinity mode directly. - Language selection buttons have been moved to the title menu screen.
Index controller support
Left trigger button to teleport in Academy mode; Analogues to do loco-step; Hold and drag right hand 'A' button rotate.
Will do more advanced integration (finger-trackings etc) in future updates.
Anger Management Mode 1.0 is live!
The brand new game mode "Anger Management" joins Virtual Fighting Championship in November 2019. Same as other modes in VFC, we will continuously polish and update it with new content.
This mode has been serving us well internally as developers want to break things every now and then. It will also be used as a good testing tool for the upcoming flagship 1v1 single-player mode.
