It's been a busy two weeks since the last update, but we have some cool new stuff for v0.46! We've been doing a lot to improve the UI, main-menu and so forth. Still a bit to do, but it's mostly turned out alright :) We've made some changes to save games as well, where there are now multiple and the auto-save is separate. Anyway, read on for changes!
Changelog:
Fixed punchout report forms not reporting accuracy uh...accurately.
Added 2 new songs to the Big Banger!
Added support for multiple game save files and split auto-save off from other saves.
Sand Traps now vomit up green goo as well.
Fixed "One Mop To Rule Them All" achievement not being awarded when you've already completed all levels.
Fixed janitor age being 0 all the time...the union wasn't happy about infant labour.
Fixed Employee Chips being capable of inserting duplicates when touching the Punch-o-matic.
Replaced the User Interface with an entirely new style.
Added support for gametypes.
Added key-navigation support to the report viewing screen in the office.
Lots still happening behind the scenes. New map going well, it's mechanics are been hammered into completion, most assets done, looking good! A bunch of things still to polish off and such for the rest of VCD, more achievements, players customization, *CLASSFIED*, etc. Heading for the final version of VCD quite soon; exciting! :)
Anyway, seeya soon for more updates!
Update v0.45
Heyo!
We bring changes and fixes to you on this fine (or not) Friday! Read on for the changes.
Changelog:
Maps:
Added the Big Banger Supernova to Unearthly Excavation; Caution, Caution!
Replaced majority of Evil Science bodies with medical worker corpses. (Save-file corruption inevitable)
Added the ability to delete report forms in the office.
Fixed "The Office" report form appearing on the viewing screen for clients that get taken to the office.
Added vending machine to Sewer
Game:
Made it possible to take things from the Office into the main levels using the Janitor Trunk. It goes both ways!
Fixed J-HARM and the Big Banger screen; hands no longer try and interact with the screen instead of grabbing the device.
Fixed "One Mop To Rule Them All" achievement not being awarded when Gravity Drive is the last level you finish.
Added an accuracy rating for filed report forms.
Made it possible to activate explosives by holding down the 'Grab' key.
Reduced the maximum slope angle the J-HARM can be used on.
Added a few whole dead bodies. Currently only added to Evil Science, but we'll replace older messes with the whole corpses where needed as we go.
Workshop:
Added Kismet events for debris and splat actors.
Now then, we're still cracking on with other stuff that will be going in soon enough. The usual suspects; Robot map, janitor customization, fixes, spin-off stuff (merging, updating) and the UI changes.
The big thing, is of course the Mac build, which has been nothing short of a total bastard.. It refuses to cooperate! We've still managed to getting it 90% working, but unfortunately, decals just will not behave. You can mop up and pick stuff up and interact normally, but as soon as you CREATE a decal (footsteps, welder, bloody mop, etc) then it's crashy crashy.. Beyond that, the Main Menu also will not function, nor will punching out to the Office.. What we'll be doing then is finding some time between now and tentative full release and try and hammer on the Mac build exclusively for a week or so. It'll take some wrangling, if it behaves at all..
Anyway! We'll be back with more updates soon as we near the end! Next week (or the next) should see more janitor customizing and the UI taking shape. For now though, have a good weekend everyone!
V0.44 update live!
Greetings everyone!
This week's update brings with it a funky radio at last! We've also added some more janitor variations and a few fixes. Read on!
Changelog:
Maps:
Fixed invisible footsteps appearing in Gravity Drive and Zero-G Therapy.
Fixed Gravity Drive and Zero-G therapy harming the punchout score even if the correct gravity is active.
Game:
Added the Janitor's personal "Big Banger" radio/boombox sound system of pure evil!
Added another 3 Janitor Head skins and a new Body skin!
Made Lanterns toggleable by holding down the 'Grab' key.
Fixed blood splats of different colors caused by footsteps or the mop not being saved.
Fixed Trophies not being deleted from office when fired.
Fixed PIDs not saving employee names and coloring between sessions.
UI:
Fixed office not displaying the correct completion time on the Report screen.
Workshop:
Creators will now have to specify the punishable gravity volumes in their map info.
Unsubscribed Workshop items will now be removed.
We're still busy working on getting the Mac build behaving. Really hoping I can get something out for it this coming week. We'll also be looking into merging the spin-off titles into VCD in some way as well.
The Robot map is going well too, when we get time to work on it. It'll be quite something when it's done >:) Other elements, such as fixes, the UI overhaul and more achievements, will start making an appearance soon as well. We're getting close to a 1.0 release!
Let us know what you think of the update. Cheers!
Update v0.435 live!
Hey hey!
*EDIT* The Report Form screen in the Office could be broken... Oh dear! We'll see if we can get it sorted soon!
*EDIT 2* Alright, updated again with fixes!
Another week, another update; hooray! Mostly just fixes and stuff, especially for the Gravity Drive map.
Changes:
Maps:
Fixed Gravity Drive problems, including Airlock, lift and gravity. [Will only work for new sessions]
Added Notes to Gravity Drive level.
Added Stacking areas to Gravity Drive level.
Private Game is now on by default [Anyone who wants to host a public game must now un-check the box under the rules menu]
Trophies taken to the office are now stored in a new save file. Makes it safe to clear the office save data, and it safeguards against corruption from updates.
Added a screen to the office where you can view all your punchout report forms.
Added an Achievement for completing 'Gravity Drive'
As usual, plenty more changes coming up. We've got the major new map still in the works (it'll be the last 'big' map), the radio and assorted tunes I'm making, more janitor customization, oodles of fixes and so on!
Seeya next week, or the next, or something (depending on the additions)!
V0.43: Gravity Drive!
Greetings!
So, we're a day late, but the update is ready now. We present an updated zero-gravity map: Gravity Drive!
The old Zero-G Therapy is still there, so fret not :) Read on for the full changelog:
Maps:
Added new Gravity Drive level!
Game:
Fixed several punchout report issues, most notably ones to do with saving.
Hopefully fixed an issue that caused you to get fired despite doing a good job with punchout reports.
Workshop:
Added Impact and Damage group masks to breakable debris, allowing you make unique custom debris interactions[WIP].
Added new letters for blood graffiti.
Added support for Airlocks.
Work still goes on with the rest of the game as we head toward the finish line. Currently revamping the UI, working on the radio, Mac build and about to start on some assorted bangin' tunes! The Robot Facility is also coming along well, it should have some cool new stuff to it; oh yes!
Also in the pipeline are some more changes to report forms, and more options for janitor customization, and possible merging of the spin-off titles (Santas Rampage and Shadow Warrior). Much funk is a'happening, as you can see!
Anyway, enjoy and let us know your thoughts on the newest changes.
Cheers!
Hotfix for v0.425; Oops
Greetings noble Janitors.
It has come to our attention that the update on Friday did not include everything it was meant to.
Most notably, all of the script changes; oops.
So here it is, a tiny update which includes all the files that were left out.
The biggest impact of this is that any report forms you filed will not have been stored by the game for future use.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's all good now. Our overlords have reached their tentacled hands through the void long enough to issue a stern warning, and some time in servitude to their sulfur mine operations as punishment.
V0.425 update: fixes, tweaks.
Hey hey!
A small (well, in features but not download size..) update this week brings fixes and tweaks to the report forms system. Still a bit we have to do for it, however. We've also been working on the remake of the new Zero G map(the old one will stay as well), the Mac build and some other fixes. The Mac build in particular is being tricky, but we might be getting there! Anyway, to the changelog!
Changelog:
Maps:
Added PIDs[Personal Identification Devices] and support for Report Forms to all levels.
Game:
Fixed clients being able to corrupt Punch-out Report forms until they have recieved the server's version of the info.
Fixed PIDs on clients having wrong color.
Fixed PIDs not keeping their colors or names when taken to the office.
Filled in Incident Report forms are now saved by the game if you are not fired. [The data will be used for something in the future]
Workshop:
Changed PID and Map Info incident fields in the Editor from using a bit-field to now using tick-boxes.
UI:
Implemented Key Navigation for Punch-out Report Forms screen.
Separated Report Forms screen from main punch-out screen chain.
Improved report forms and added more death types.
Changed the interaction sounds for Machine interface screens such as the Punch-out and Vending Machines.
