Error Investigation - 2017-9-18
This would than lead to not being able to save state, unlock achievements or even close the game the regular way.

We have recorded some dart related annoucer sounds so when playing, the announcer will call your score, your requires, your achievements and so on.

Dart Training
We had some feedback that for some of you, throwing darts is proves to be very difficult.
It is true that you will need to spend some time training because the skill set has to be learned by practise. Dart Behavior Configuration is also important, because little tweaks there can make a big difference. In my own setup I throw an 3dart avg of 35-40 (and rising) now, where my real life avg is about 45-50.
Because learning to throw darts in VR can be a time cosuming thing, we will make that a little bit easier and more fun for you by introducting 'Dart Training'.
In this game mode (to be started from the Main Menu), you have to complete 3 levels (scaling down) of training where you get a special 'training' board and will have to hit targets. The targets will start big and getting smaller as you progress through training.
While you train, the dart behaviour configuration will be active so you can immediately tweak the settings to optimize the throwing experience personally.
Dart Behavior Configuration
To make the behavior system less complex, we will reduce dart behavior configuration to only one set of sliders instead of 2 (light + heavy darts)
We will remove the weight slider in the set. The weight slider on the main options menu will stay but weight calculation will be applied automatically. The center of the options weight slider will correspond with your dart configuration.

Training Hall
We added a new location for you to throw your darts. 'Training Hall' will put you in a nice hall with table, chairs ( for a future audience ?? ) and a bar for your refreshments. If you do not want any distractions you can still use your default 'Dart Stand' location.
You can switch locations usig the Main Menu on the left navigation screen.

Achievements
The achievements are live. When you unlock an achievement, you will see the achievement blinking on the scoreboard. Steam achievements are synchronized as well.
It is also possibile to clear all your data using the options menu. When you do.. all your achievement unlocks will be removed as well.
Stats
We now display your basic stats on the Main Menu page. The gray items '3dart average', 'out Percentage' and 'Rating (Elo)' will be introduced and set when leaderboards come online ( 0.6.0 version )

Achievements that unlock when a round (3 darts) lead to specific 'ton'-based score.

A score of 95, usually by scoring five 19s. - Irish Ton
Throw two single 1s and a tripple 1. - A Ton
A score of 100. - Ton 10
A score of 110. - Ton 20
A score of 120. - Ton 30
A score of 130. - Ton 40

When finishing could also unlock 'A Perfect Finish'
When a player has unlocked all achievements of the 'Tons' group, the achievement 'Master of Tons' automatically unlocks.
Group : Perfect
Achievements that unlock when a player demonstrates perfect dart skils.
- A Good Game
The player finishes a 12 darter game. - A Great Game
The player finishes a 11 darter game. - An Almost Perfect Game
The player finishes a 10 darter game. - A Perfect Game
The player finishes a 9 darter game. - A Perfect Score
A score of 180. 3 times tripple 20. - A Perfect Finish
A finish of 170. 2 times tripple 20 and a double bull.
When a player has unlocked all achievements of the 'Perfect' group, the achievement 'Mr. Perfect' automatically unlocks.
Group : Throws
Achievements that unlock when a player throws one of more darts in a specific way.
- Bucket Of Nails
Throw all 3 darts in any 1 section. - Bullseye
Throw into the bullseye. (double bull) - Devil
Throw into the tripple 6. - Grand slam
Throw a tripple 5 , tripple 20 and tripple 1. - Hat-Trick
Throw 3 single or double bulls.
When a player has unlocked all achievements of the 'Throws' group, the achievement 'Master of Throws' automatically unlocks.

Achievements that unlock when a player closes with a specific finish
- Motown
Finish with a 4 and two double 20s. - Shanghai

Sharon Prins, 8th on the Womens Darts (BDO) World Ranking List, visited our humble workshop to try out VR Darts and give her feedback.

VR was new to her and after a quick intro with some demos she went in and did her first two training sessions.
First session - 3 dart avg of 18
Second session - 3 dart avg of 38
Her feedback
- Very realistic and immersive.
- Resolution of dartboard should be increased.
- It is not exactly the same as throwing a dart in the real world.
- The skill set for this has the same characteristics but needs to be rebuild by training.
- You really need to put in your best effort to get better.
- It is very fun to do.
- Would be great to play against others online.
Although 2 practice sessions were maybe a bit to short to get Sharon to her professional level in the virtual world, she was certain that more training would increase her averages further.
Conclusion
VR Darts is realistic, fun and immersive. Do not expect to get in and immediately start throwing darts like you do in real life but prepare to build a skill set for this. To get better you need to train and adjust the dart behavior settings to optimize your personal throwing experience.

Update VR Darts v0.3.0
In this update...
- Replaced default hands controller models for actual 'animating' hands
- Point and click menu control scheme implemented for hand controllers
Point and Click Control Scheme
When you hold the trigger button on one of the controllers, the corresponding hand will animate to a 'pointing' gesture. By pointing at a menu (tv), you will be able to move the cursor on the UI. You can activate a UI control like a slider or button by pressing any regular controller button.
When you are in a Dart Match, only the non-throwing hand can be used to point and control the cursor.
