FREE DEMO ON THE WAY





A free demo of VR Furballs - Demolition will be available on the Steam page next week. I hope this short immersion in the world of VR Furballs will convince everyone that the game deserves to be in every VR game library :)


GAME UPDATE





I updated the game earlier today with the following changes:

  • New: Added World 2 - Level 7 which is the "Waterfall" level.
  • New: Added World 4 - Level 9 which is the "Pirate boat" level.
  • Bugfix: Fixed no score was given when blocks exploded because they were ejected outside the level area.

GAME UPDATE





I updated the game once earlier today with the following changes:

  • New: Added World 2 - Level 9 which is the "Prison" level.
  • New: Added World 5 - Level 8 which is the "Ferris Wheel" level.
  • New: Added a panel on the left of the Level Editor to let you build more than one Level at a time and navigate through them.
  • Improvement: Outline Baddies that are still alive when you failed a Level (until the Failure panel shows up).
  • Improvement: Made Lasers a bit less loud.

DELAYED





Once more, I decided to push the release date of the full version of VR Furballs - Demolition. It was initially planned for February, then March, but once again, the production of the missing levels did not go as fast as I hopped. I am now targeting a release at the END OF APRIL. It gives me 6 weeks to finish the 24 missing levels, which is doable :) This also means that you still have around 6 weeks to join the Early Access Level Creation Contest ;)

GAME UPDATE





I updated the game a couple of times this week with the following changes:

  • New: Added World 1 - Level 4 which is the "Pool Party" level.
  • New: Added World 3 - Level 2 which is the "Bunker Face" level.
  • New: Added buttons on the table of the Level Editor to shift the entire Level.
  • New: Added grab + grip press combo in the Level Editor to let the held block go through other blocks (kind of a ghost mode).
  • New: Added button in the Settings panel to hide the Player's Furball (useful when shooting Mixed Reality videos).
  • Improvement: Keep the Restart and Quit buttons until the end-of-level panel appears.
  • Improvement: Improved Progression panel by adding red crosses to show you what you haven't achieved yet.
  • Improvement: Improved Progression panel by adding construction icons to show you what levels are missing.
  • Improvement: Improved Pillar collision so that you can bounce the Furballs with different angles if you aim the Pillar edges.
  • Bugfix: Fixed bug causing everything to be a bit harder to break.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Portal, Redirectionner and Fan doing their thing even when they are stored on the side of the Level Editor.

IT'S TIME TO LIV





LIV is a software / SDK / plugin suite that makes creating Mixed Reality easy (once it's setup properly). VR Furballs - Demolition is now officially supporting LIV, which means that there will soon be awesome Mixed Reality videos of people playing VR Furballs - Demolition like if they really were in there. I can't wait to see such videos!


GAME UPDATE





I updated the game a couple of times this week with the following changes:

  • New: Added World 5 - Level 7 which is the "Aqua Park" level.
  • New: Added Russian language.
  • New: Added Swedish language.
  • New: Added Traditional Chinese language.
  • New: Added Bulgarian language.
  • New: Added LIV support to let you make Mixed Reality videos / streams.
  • New: Added button in the Settings panel to swap the controllers assignment in a 3 controllers situation (only works for SteamVR).
  • New: Added grip button press to duplicate the pointed block in the Level Editor (fails if the duplicated block does not have enough space to appear).
  • Improvement: Baddies, Cannon balls and TNT boxes are now affected by the Fans, Portals and Redirectionners.
  • Improvement: Added the World/Level numbers or Mini-game icon on the Leaderboards (to give context to screenshots of Leaderboards).
  • Bugfix: Fixed crash in Balloon Fest mini-game introduced last week.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Furballs being teleported even if they are thrown on the back side of a Portal.

PIXEL MUSEUM 1ST ANNIVERSARY





Last weekend I was showing off VR Furballs - Demolition at the Pixel Museum for its first anniversary. More than a hundred gamers of all ages tried the game. For most of them, it was their first time in VR. The event was a real success and everyone absolutely loved the game :)

I updated the game twice this week with the following changes:

  • New: Added World 1 - Level 9 which is the "Bridge" level.
  • Bugfix: Fixed game and photos looking darker than they should if you started the game in the Night environment.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Baddies not dying when they fall from really high sometimes.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Furballs won't spawn when you go back Home sometimes.
  • Bugfix: Fixed trajectory dots of the Slingshot and Redirectionner not being destroyed properly.

  • New: Added a "Go to Level Editor" tutorial at the end.
  • Improvement: Silent the Fans and Lasers in the Level Editor.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Furballs popping right after getting out of the gun sometimes.
  • Bugfix: Fixed next Projectile not coming if you shoot a Furball from the Gun when the Gun is outside the allowed area.

GAME UPDATE





I updated the game earlier today with the following changes:

  • New: Added Spanish language.
  • New: Added Korean language.
  • New: Added Greek language.
  • Improvement: Prevent usage of Mushrooms in the Hit the Bomb mini-game (it's too easy for a giant).
  • Improvement: Display the Level Editor teleport ring starting the end of the World 0. It is greyed out and displays a Lock until the Level Editor gets unlocked at the end of the game.
  • Improvement: Display Redirectionner trajectory in the Level Editor.
  • Improvement: Use different Motion Controller weapon type icons for each platform (since it is a Vive controller for every platform now).
  • Improvement: Hide the tutorial panel of the tutorial introducing Swatty (the yellow Furball) when 2 of the 3 Baddies got killed. Keep re-showing the tutorial until the level is completed.

HAPPY 1 MONTH ANNIVERSARY!





February is here! VR Furballs - Demolition has been on Steam for a month already. You are now more than 300 players, and 11 of you finished the game. Thanks to everyone who dared joining the adventure during the Early Access period!

Development got slower since the release of the game, since I'm spending a lot of time on marketing and exchanging with some of you. Once more I didn't get as much dev time as I hoped I would. There was only one update made today with the following changes:

  • New: Added a Progression panel that sums up all your Stars, online ranks and completion for each weapon.
  • New: Added a Quit tower (behind you in the Home area).
  • Improvement: Improved Swatty tutorial to explain better that you shouldn't hit the golden blocks from the side.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Icy not able to kill the Baddies on the Christmas tree when hitting them from the Redirectionners.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Slowmo tutorial not blocking the Hit the Bombs mini-game sometimes.

GAME UPDATE





On the dev side, it hasn't been a too productive week, because the Leaderboards improvements took me way more time than expected. Here is what has been done:

  • New: Added German language.
  • New: Added Italian language.
  • New: Added Dutch language.
  • New: Added tabs at the top right of the online Leaderboards to switch between "Global" and "Friends only" scores.
  • New: Added buttons at the bottom right of the online Leaderboards to let you navigate through all the scores.
  • Improvement: Removed loud breaking/exploding sounds when you press on the Next Level button.
  • Bugfix: Fixed traditional gamepads connected to the computer will also vibrate when the Motion Controllers vibrate.
  • Bugfix: Fixed long names overwriting their associated score in the online Leaderboards.
  • Bugfix: Fixed crash when you build a level and put only one Portal inside. Now if you throw a Furball in a lone Portal, it will fry the Furball.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Steam Achievement popup appearing before you see your final score in the Victory panel.
  • Bugfix: Fixed wrong Portal mesh collision (it was too big).

VR Furballs is also going worldwide! It has now a Chinese name: "VR毛球宝贝". The full game name being: "VR毛球宝贝 - 摧毁敌营". This is the result of a poll we made on the Chinese social networks. Here is the full result of the votes:

The game has been updated several times this week. Here is the list of everything that has been done:

  • New: Added World 1 - Level 8.
  • New: Added Japanese language.
  • New: Added Simplified Chinese logo in the game.
  • Improvement: Replaced Tool towers placed in levels used to illustrate what Tools get unlocked in this level by Treasure chests.
  • Improvement: Allowed Leaderboards tab navigation during the Victory or Defeat sequence.
  • Improvement: Reduced the volume of the noise made by the fans.
  • Bugfix: Fixed random freeze of the game.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Slingshot trajectory dots disappearing sometimes.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Furballs not going on Drones or not entering in Gun if you kept holding them while putting them in.
  • Bugfix: Fixed online Leaderboards not loading if you don't already have a score in them.
  • Bugfix: Fixed Hit the Bomb mini-game bombs going through the ground if you hit them really hard.
  • Bugfix: Fixed MyLevel.lev folder not opening when you ALT+TAB if the path to this file did not exist when you first entered in the Level Editor.
