VR The Diner Duo

Secrets

Today we have made the final touches for all secrets in the game.
We really hope our fans and players will like them!

Would also like to say a big thank you to all of you who support us everyday in comments, e-mails and in other ways. I love waking up to see the number rise every morning on VR The Diner Duo's wishlist. It's amazing and I really develop this game for all of you.

Thank you!
I hope, from the bottom of my heart, that you will enjoy the game.

New ingredient

Today we have reworked our level design and implemented our new ingredient - the portobello burger!

As it was before, on unlocked the cucumber first (just slice).
..then fish (slice twice, then grill) ..then portobello (slice, grill)

We found out it would be better design wise to unlock the cucumber first, followed by the portobello burger and unlock the fish at higher levels since it's a bit work to do with that one.

We have also reworked other level design issues found during testing sessions. We hope this will improve the gameplay even more!

Scale patch

We've had a problem with the scaling option.

We are releasing a patch to our current version (which beta testers and others have availble) to fix this problem today :)

Burger of the day!

We have worked with a thing called "Burger of the day".

This is a randomized order that changes every day.

A "burger of the day" recipe will appear on the chefs recipe board and the customers will order it from time to time.

The '"burger of the day" is introduced in mid-levels and consists of five ingredients. These are, as mentioned, randomized which means it could be e.g five pieces of meat only or three cucumber slices + ketchup + cheese.

The results will be surprising, in a funny way of course.

More levels

This week we are aiming to add 40 more levels to the game.
The full release in November will contain:

~ 30 levels in singleplayer mode
~ 30 levels in multiplayer mode
~ Endless mode with local leaderboards

Right now we are designing the levels and ingredient system. Improving the wave system with customers, choice of orders, difficulty etc.

Tutorial improvement

We have divided the tutorial into three short ones instead of one long.
That way you can learn exactly what's relevant for you.

The tutorial is designed with pictures and arrows.

For example:
A big red arrow will appear above the plate stack, once you pick up a plate another arrow will appear on the desk in front of you with a transparent plate, basicly showing you to "put the plate here".. but without text.

Easy for kids to understand.

Mold

We have added mold this week.

This will change the way people play the game.
It's only grilled meat/fish/portobello which molds However, it prevents players from grill the burgers in advance and stack them for future orders.

Moldy burgers will not be accepted of the customers.

Score- & star system

So, we have two systems so both new players and experienced players can get a challenge in the game and have replayability.

Firstly: The star system

You can get three stars max at a level, that is if no customers leave.
If one customer leave - you get two stars.
If two customers leave - you get one star.
If three customers leave - you lose the level.

That means that you can still clear the level and unlock the next, even though some customers got angry or you did some mistakes along the way.

Secondly: The score system

Our customers have three moods. You get different score depending on their mood when you serve them and how fast you serve them. Everyone starts happy, if you take too long they'll turn annoyed and then angry.

Moods and score:
- You serve a happy customer you get 100 points + bonus.
- You serve an annoyed customer you get 50 points.
- You serve an angry customers you get 20 points.

Bonus points:
Serving bonus - If you serve a happy customer, you can get bonus points. You get 100 points for serving a happy customer, as always, plus e.g 15 points for serving fast. The size of the bonus depends on how fast you serve a happy customer, which level it is and how you serve them (style bonus)

Style bonus - You can e.g throw burgers to the customers and get extra bonus points. These are always a fixed sum. Throwing is 20 points.

The two systems are not depending on eachother.
You can get three stars and really high score, or three stars and low score. You can get one star and still have the super high score. It depends a lot on how you play.

New customization

We have added five new customizatIon options for the chef in VR.
These are:

- Pirate hat
- Party hat
- Kids propeller hat
- Viking helmet
- Halo

You need to play and clear levels to unlock the new hats.
