Hello everyone,

This week we celebrate as War Dust modding takes us to new and exciting battlefields. What amazing mod will be added to the Workshop next? As we fight on mod maps each weekend, everyone is invited to join the fun! War Dust mods are a great place to push your strategic combat skills to their limits but can also be a space to meet with friends and have a VR party (as long as you don't mind getting killed a lot). War Dust is about winning but also so much more.

This week we are highlighting some intense War Dust Mod gameplay on the Steam Store and are planning a special set of Custom Maps Events on Nov. 12 and 13. We think War Dust is the perfect place for creative modders to push the limits of combat scenarios including custom vehicles and custom characters. So, whether you just want to enjoy the diverse battlefields created by others, or you want to get into modding, War Dust is the game for you!

This weekend's Custom Maps Events will be epic with 1000 tickets per side! It's "must-play" War Dust Mods at their best!

Custom maps Events are Saturdays and Sundays:

10 PM CET
9 PM BST

Another Update



Hello! New WarDust update is up on steam!

Some of you probably noticed that in the last couple of days there was little update every day.
This post collects all features added recently plus new ones today.
So let's start.

- Added 4 new leaderboards.
1) Lifetime scores.
2) Monthly scores
3) Kills by knife only, monthly
4) Best killers against real players only. Amount of kills minus deaths (also from real players only) will be the score added to your stats. cleared monthly
We are not sure if this is final version, we might add different leaderboards or replace existing ones. Maybe monthly will be replaced to weekly ones. We will see. It's still getting its shape.
Your score will be uploaded to leaderboard only when there was more than 5 real players in the match. Score is synced when the match is over.
Please also note that we can detect anyone that will start to tinker with personal score to be at the top of the leaderboard. In that case perma ban will be applied for leaderboards feature. Play fair, win fair, have fun fair.
Please read the update to privacy policy agreement right at the start of the game

- Voice chat in game options will now mute your voice and others completely.

- Added possibility to mute any player in game (for example the one you don't really like ). Simply click on his/her name on the scoreboard. You will also see there, who is muted in their personal options.

- Spectator now will be muted (edited)

- Added various stats to score board.
1) Knife kills (total kills includes that figure). Please note that knife kills gives you 5 times more points.
2) Shot accuracy. Percentage of shots fired and shots that hit the enemy
3) Current player class icons
4) Speaker icon (muted/not muted)

- Further tweaks on spawn room and GUI

- Added experimental home base protection in Dubai (X and Y)

- Adjusted AWP collision, to prevent situations when you were not be able to shoot when gun was too close to other objects.

- Every throwable item (like frag etc.) will now be frame rate independent. That means throwing frags will always work correctly, even when your frame rate drops significantly (no more your own frag drops below your feet). Same should apply to pro loco.

- Added custom server admin panel. When you host your own server you can :
1) Send horn signal to others (for example to start league match)
2) Save finished match stats to text file.
3) Restart map/server any time you want.
4) Kick player out
5) Kill all players (I don't know why I added this, but maybe someone is sadist and might need it)

- Fixed Kaoh Kreik character controller bug. Issues with stairs etc. (apologize for that, I thought I fixed it last week, probably forgot to press save button)

- And cherry on the top. When player is killed with explosion, it will be thrown to the sky, screaming like a mad man

Little weekend update

- Added new test leaderboard

New Regular Update! Landmines are back and so much more!

Hello everyone,

Landmines are back and so much more!


- Audio and visual changes on : knife (new model, new sounds, stab sound added) , parachute (animation of deployment, waving fabric during flying, extra sound fx) and blood effects tweaked

- Snipers got some love :
* Default AWP scope has controlled zoom. To change it, hold the gun with two hands and use climb buttons (left and right) to control the zoom level.
* Added deployable bush for cover (5 minutes life time) and big ladder to reach tricky places (they are on secondary weapon)

- Vehicles have now basic hand painted team decals (C for coalition, M for mercenaries)

- Added players steam avatar decals on player’s back. In the future there might be an option to turn it on or off. Bots have some default pictures (they might change)

- It’s possible now to see current custom server rooms opened in spawn room (Please note : you need to go back to the main menu to join them, also the list is refreshed only once at the match start atm)

- Added weapon stats to weapon selection screen (not finished)

-Now you can throw spawners for all deployable items like sandbags, barrels, ladders and bushes (not as far as frag grenade, also throw distances for each item might change!)

- Buffed grenade launcher (now it should be actually useful)

There were some performance issues on previous version and light is bit messed up. This will be looked after soon 🙂

Newest WD build with landmines

-Added landmines to each class. Can be used against vehicles and infantry. It has 5 minutes of lifetime. Each faction has its own color of land mine, so you would know if you can step on it or not. Your own land mine can kill you, so it also has its own color. To arm it, just pull a pin (same as in frag grenade) and place it on the ground (make sure it’s placed red part up). Watch your steps! red should kill you, Blue shouldn't. On night maps they should be emissive. They should also change color after you switch teams (spawned Blue should change to red and vice versa). It won't happen right away, but it should.

-Added collision on tank turret, so it should be easier to hit the tank from the side.

-Frag grenades should cause little more damage to vehicles when exploded nearby

-Major changes to room connection logic in netcode. This should fix: black screens, please waits, rooms when too many players and all these nasty things we were facing for years. No more patching, it's full rework of this code area.

For now landmines are available for each class, but it might change. They are not final, so bugs might occur also more features and tweaks will be added to them in following weeks.
