The game has launched with unexpected success. Your reception has given me the encouragement I needed to decide to move forward with the development of this game as my top priority.
Please see the attached image of the Update Roadmap! Everything is subject to change, and I am actively planning what each update will exactly contain. Consider this as the core flow of new content coming to the game, focused on large milestone items. Development on the "Foundations" update will begin in approximately two weeks, to let the launch settle in, and allow for real-time bug fixes, balance changes, and QOL improvements, of which I am working on night and day...
Feel free to reach out to me on the Steam Community and on Discord. I value the opinions and ideas of each and every one of you, and will do my best to respond promptly. I appreciate your patience.
I have been delighted to see screenshots and videos of you all playing the game. Everyone has their own unique way of navigating the world and it's challenges.
You are all your own Roman General at heart!

Warlord: Britannia Released!
The wait is finally over. After nearly 4 years in development, I am happy to announce Warlord: Britannia is now publicly available on Steam!
You all have your orders, and know what must be done. Set forth and conquer, Britannia awaits! The Emperor expects great things from you all, and is awaiting news of your invasion.
I extend my sincere thanks to those who helped Beta test the game, and all of the new people joining the community to offer help and suggestions. You all have made this a wonderful experience, and I look forward to the future of this game with your input!
Technically, this is Update 0, or Version 1.0. Going forward, I will use whole numbers to indicate major updates, and decimals to designate minor ones (fixes and balances). See below for the launch build update log.
Museum mode item descriptions added
Museum mode now includes a Steam achievement
Increased legionary formation marching speed
Updated help menu, fixed formatting
Fixed formation wobble, maybe
Lowered player sword volume slightly
Added info to “Cannot Recruit” messages
Fixed re-optioning settlement bug
Convoys will no longer spawn at settlements while the player is visiting
Convoys will now spawn from captured settlements if the unrest is high enough
Increased civilian spawns slightly
Smoothed out unit attack animation transitions
Added “Dug in” feature. Large settlements may opt to entirely hold out inside their walls
Some units in larger settlements will hold out inside as opposed to sallying forth
Adjusted rain effect speed
Fixed cursor not returning from escape menu to settlement options menu
Increased daily unrest decay very slightly
Decreased unrest penalty for enslavement and taxation slightly
Fixed settlement options dropdown hitboxes
Prerelease Update 5
This update will hopefully be the final prerelease version before next week's launch. I am very excited to present this game to the Steam community after such a long development journey (the second part of which is only about to begin)! Stealth mode is designed to bring a unique gameplay factor to the night.
Added a toggle to disable torches in formation, activating Stealth Mode, where you can sneak up on settlements under the cover of darkness, lowering their sight range and decreasing the amount of enemies present
Formation positions now update automatically when promoting a trooper. Call your forces to Arms, then promote officers and watch the formation adjust
Global unrest now averages only the nearest half of all settlements, effectively making the average doubly sensitive, but still less attuned than Local unrest
Fixed Massed Attack logic
Polished formation UI toggles
Increased armor upgrade costs
Decreased taxation and enslavement Gold slightly
Fixed performance issue with Screen Space reflection
Prerelease Update 4
In addition to some minor changes, this update activates the Museum mode, which is still lacking descriptions. Those will be up by launch day. Combat now includes two new variations on the slash and stab attacks, and has been made more satisfying with damage adjustments.
Museum mode unlocked! Item descriptions are not visible yet, but will be on release
Added two new attack variations, slash from left, and a high stab
Increased player melee damage
Decreased player health
Increased barbarian armor ratings slightly
Decreased enemy amounts slightly in first two settlements
Added a hidden baseline unit capacity of 4. Before, if the player’s army was wiped out while relocating their camp, there was no way to rebuild tents, and thus no option to recruit more units, effectively ending their game. Now, the player always has the ability to recruit a handful of troops and rebuild from a worst case scenario, instead of reloading their save, assuming the player can get their hands on some Gold
Prerelease Update 3
Warlord: Britannia is now fully linked to Steam's achievement system! Complete the in-game quests to unlock all of them. Not all in-game quests have a corresponding achievement. This update also includes some very minor balancing changes and fixes.
Steam achievements now linked with in-game quests
Increased enemy amounts in larger settlements
Decreased enemy amounts in convoys slightly
Lowered enemy spacing in convoys
Decreased lighting strike chance
Combat track now stops when settlements and groups despawn
Decreased taxation gold slightly
Increased taxation silver slightly
Combat track now plays even if just the player triggers enemy spawn
The next prerelease update (or the one after, if testers discover bugs...) should include the Museum mode, so for those with access to the game ahead of the 25th's launch date, stay tuned for that!
Prerelease Update 2
This update contains various fixes and improvements, a Keybinds option panel, as well as a new armor tier for Veterans with 10 or more days in service.
Fixed days in service not saving for each legionary
Added Steam Cloud save functionality
Added health, armor rating, damage and luck bonus readouts to upgrade menu
Decreased Roman armor ratings slightly
Added Veteran armor tier, only available to soldiers with 10 or more days in service
Fixed call to arms start track overriding raid and convoy music
Added Keybinds panel, mouse controls not included yet
Increased starting troops, gold, silver, and timber slightly
Fixed convoys and gatherings enemy amounts to derive from source settlement
Added HUD toggle keybind
Prerelease Update 1
This update is backwards compatible with save games. However, only going forward will the log file start filling up with items, troops will gain "days in service," and noble gathering takedowns be counted.
Removed iron and stone readouts
Increased day and night duration slightly
Adjusted weather preset durations
Increased unrest spread factors in larger settlements
Swapped main menu theme with a longer version of the same track
Relocate camp button is now greyed out when on the move
