I've made it so information about spirits and spells is more readily available.
Now you can see the power and toughness, and all magics and traits of a spirit right inside the character screen.
In combat each spell now shows how much damage / heal it will do, and to who.

EARLY ACCESS IS COMING
WEIRDLANDS IS COMING TO EARLY ACCESS
I naively thought the game would be complete by now, but it's not, so I decided not to push the release date, but rather make it early access. Since all the feedback I received from people playing the demo made Weirdlands so much better, I think this will be the best for the game. The demo is not representative of the game in its current state, and will be less and less so as I improve it, so I'm removing the demo from Steam for now. Maybe I'll reinstate it when the game is finished and I update it to represent the game in its finished state.
The date for Early Access is December 23rd.
Some of the changes from the demo to the current version:
COMBAT: - In random encounters there's a 50-50 chance of you or the enemy having the first move - Guard ability is a switch, it happens instantly without you having to execute the turn - Your moves happen immediately after you execute the turn - Summoner (main character) can guard - Numerous spirits, abilities and traits
WORLD: - Teleport chalk ability is two way now, you can always return to the spot you last used it at - Quick travel plates let you travel between certain places in the world - You can buy a spirit ward that prevents random encounters (it costs you experi-pence each step) - You can get a tent that lets you sleep on any terrain that doesn't spawn random encounters - Numerous new areas, npcs and puzzles
Now let's make Weirdlands even better!
PS.: Since it's clearly impossible for me to estimate release dates, there won't be one. Instead there will be an official to-do list that I'll update regularly, so you'll be able to track the progress and see what's left to be done. If you load an existing save, nothing much should change. If you start a new game, Artemis is not immediately in the toilet, and you have to unclog it to get her to come.
New Music Track Added
I added a music track that plays in the school.
Free all the Emberflies
If Storms is gone and you turn off the furnace, then go to bed, Knoll will leave her office and go to the kitchen.
Your character now notices there is something in the furnace.
Also, a tiny bug fix: turning off music now turns off home theme.

Demo - Full Version
New in v0.2:
Too many changes to list. New npcs, places, spirits. Changes to existing spirits. There is a manual in the options now.
Old saves are obsolete, but they will never be again, since this is the last major patch for the demo.

There is a new greater spirit (40 hp, 10 attack) with the Chain Trap trait, that automatically tethers spirits that would die. It's the main target of a quest in the bathroom. There are now short little combat tutorials as part of the story. There are also many small changes to the game.
