Important notice and some brand spanking new achievement icons, just for you!

Hello Builders,

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that you update to the latest version of When Ski Lifts Go Wrong so that it launches correctly!

Now that we have got that out of the way… we have been hard at work creating some shiny, brand spanking new achievement icons, just for you!



In addition, we have fixed loads of minor localisation bugs; addressed some UI inconsistencies; improved the ease of use, stability and quality of the sharing features; adjusted some level designs and made some small tutorial tweaks.

We’re excited about the imminent full launch, which will bring new Summer levels, motorbikes and mountain bikes! Happy Building!


Significant Mac improvements and a note on 4k support!

We have just released a patch that provides some significant performance, compatibility and campaign improvements for mac users! As always, we’d love to hear your comments and feedback so please leave them below or on the forums.

Please note - if you are on a mac which supports 4k and you are suffering performance issue, we recommend that you change the resolution to 1960x1080 or equivalent.

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong - Future Content Reveal: Realistic catastrophes whatever the season!

Hope you're all doing well!

On Saturday 8th Dec., during the Kinda Funny Games Showcase, we've revealed a brand new trailer showing off new summer-themed levels and riders! If you haven't seen it yet, click here



At its full release, When Ski Lifts Go Wrong will have in total over 100 levels including new summer environments and new vehicles such as the motorbike and bicycle, additional music, new achievements, Steam trading cards and bug fixes.

No matter the climate, realistic physics means realistic disasters!



The game will also have an extra rider in the guise of Greg Miller from the Kinda Funny Team. We'll share more details later about that.

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong will leave Early Access in the beginning of 2019, so don't forget to add it to your Steam Wishlist now.

Jonny from hugecalf here to provide you with the juicy details of all the improvements we have made to When Ski Lifts Go Wrong. It’s been a while since we provided detailed patch notes and it has come to our attention that we didn’t provide patch notes for our major ‘name change’ patch at the start of November, so this announcement will cover that, and today's Quality of Life patch!

We are continuing to listen to your feedback and will work hard to improve all aspects of WSLGW as we approach the end of the Early Access period! So, as always, we’d love to hear your feedback, bugs and suggestions in the comments below :D

1. 8/11/2018 - The ‘Name Change’ patch summary





  • Hugely improved rider controls:
    - Added a jump button
    - Can now control riders in the air to land that perfect backflip
  • Snowboarders added! Finally, snowboarders are in the game. You can now help or hinder Snowboarder, Skiers and Snowmobilers in equal measure :)
  • Physics improvements:
    - Chairlifts run faster, so less waiting for riders to reach the top
    - Reworked how skiers sit in the chair so that they fall in a more natural and predictable nature
    - Reworked draglifts so riders are more predictable when on this lift
  • Improved tutorials
  • Overhauled UI. The UI and menus have been overhauled so that there is consistency and more polish throughout the game! We hope you like it
  • Overhauled objectives system. There are now a consistent set of objectives and medals on every level


2. 30/11/2018 - The ‘Quality of Life’ patch




  • Added Korean and Polish language support
  • Added 4k support
  • Fixed compatibility with existing language options
  • Added loading screen to show the level and to display game tips
  • Improved sharing features:
    - Added replay upload panel
    - Added social buttons to the homescreen
    - Dropped support for facebook sharing
  • Can now hide UI on homescreen to get a better view of the jump
  • Santa now shows as first rider on each level during seasonal winter event
  • Tutorials improvements
    - Tutorials will now display the correct icons if default controls are changed
    - Not quite right box is now only triggered once
    - Fixed players getting stuck in tutorial 3
    - Changed tutorial 5 level design
  • Fixed bug where a Snowmobiles would appear in certain levels
  • Added save slots to each level
  • UI improvements
  • UI elements now hide on level complete/fail
  • Optimisations to build mode and simulation mode:
    - Planks now delete and play an animation when braking to improve performance of large structures collapsing
    - Limited number of colours that stress indicator can display. Now fixed to Red, Yellow and Green.
    - Blood splat optimisation
  • Added target FPS options, default set to 60 FPS
  • Snow cannons no longer incorrectly effect skiers on the second slope
  • 'Open folder location' button has been fixed and show now open the correct folder
  • Added gondola and plank breaking animations
  • Fixed leaderboards to correctly show whether the trophy was awarded
  • You can no longer edit other players workshop creations
  • + numerous other minor fixes

We have an announcement to make which will spread holiday cheer in December…



When Ski Lifts Go Wrong will host a FREE in-game Christmas seasonal event which will include these festive features:

• A playable Father Christmas
• All other characters wearing Christmas hats
• Trees and buildings decorated with Christmas lights

This festive content will be available from December 1st 2018 to January 4th 2019 to lift up your holiday spirits.
