Unlike our previous competitions, there are three enterable categories! Everyone can enter each category once, but you can only win in one. You can use the same garden/save file for all three entries.
Each category will have a winner, who will receive a Wildmender wearable blanket, a Wildmender notebook, and a Wildmender mug - perfect for a relaxing evening by the fire. This competition runs from Friday, December 22nd to Friday, January 12th.
Winter Wonderland â Submit a screenshot of your Winter Wonderland Garden. The criteria here is that your Garden needs to be predominantly blue, white, and red - the colours of the holidays - and have a magical feel!
Season's Greetings â In this category, youâll need to submit an edited Seasons Greetings style postcard using a screenshot of your garden. The most beautiful postcard wins!
Holly Jolly Wildmas â You can use any screenshot from Wildmender (doesnât have to be your garden), spruce it up in a photo editor, and make it as jolly as possible! All entries need to be edited to some degree and link to a seasonal winter theme. The funniest image wins!

Wildmender December 21, 2023 Update Patch Notes
Hi Wildmenders!
In todayâs update weâve continued to fix more bugs, including some long-standing issues affecting your most impressive irrigation projects. The build today is available on Steam, while the corresponding console update may take some additional time to be released. If youâre cross-playing with friends between PC and Consoles, please see the instructions below on how to keep playing together on the previous version.
Thank you again for all the beautiful gardens youâve created and shared. We look forward to seeing still more of them in the new year, and we have more fixes, improvements, and features coming for you to look forward to as well.

Build 202
Features & Changes
Added support for text entry using Steamâs onscreen keyboard on the Steam Deck
Changed how water and pipes are simulated when far from the player. Distant water will now update much more frequently (though still not quite as often as when the player is close), which should greatly reduce cases of channels and ponds drying up in your absence.
Increased the respawn chances of mineral heaps and Canyons market stalls after a storm (respawn at these locations should now be guaranteed unless you have reduced the drop rate in difficulty settings)
If the Wraith Attack Frequency difficulty setting is set to 0, roaming wraiths will no longer spawn in the Canyons
Reduced the biome weight applied by restored Mystical Springs, allowing biome Mothers to be placed nearer to them and have an effect
When placing an object or plant and looking away from the ground, the game will now place it at the placement range limit instead of showing a confusing message (such as âcanât plant in soilâ)
Adjusted a number of UI elements to better support non-English languages without overflowing text. Notably, the inventory UI is slightly wider now.
Fixes
Fix to quest pinning that will prioritize the individual gear quests over the main canyons quest, and individual Arx temple quests over the main Arx quest.
Fixed getting stuck in the Gleb temple door when entering the temple.
Fixed a bug that allowed stacks of items to be duplicated
Fixed a ghost quest (âBeloved Flowersâ) granting Spiritual memories instead of Survival memories
Fixed a number of cases where critters (the Pangolin or Frogs) could get stuck in inaccessible locations, or inside each other
Fixed a graphical bug where bodies of water would show visible âcracksâ between sections of mesh
Fixed a graphical bug where fertilizer spread on Arable soil would have blocky edges
Fixed several issues with plants in planters disappearing, either when planted or upon reloading the save
Fixed a bug that could cause the background tree generation queue to get stuck, causing plants to stop loading as the player traveled
Fixed a Titan Crab animation desync between host and client that could cause client players to get stuck in the air
Optimizations
Improved overall memory usage
Reduced small hitches when opening major UI pages
Small performance improvements to tree loading and general culling
Consoles & Crossplay Unfortunately some of the fixes weâve made in Build 202 have made this version incompatible in multiplayer with the version currently available on consoles. If you want to continue playing with friends on consoles, you can switch to the âcrossplayâ Steam beta to continue playing on the previous version.
In your Steam library right click on Wildmender, go to Properties, find the Betas tab, select the Beta Participation dropdown and select âcrossplay - For compatibility with current console buildsâ
Once this patch goes live on consoles, you can switch back to âNoneâ on the betas tab, and get playing on the latest version.

Meet Stryge - Goddess of the Storm đŚ
From life-giving water and fertile earth, we move to a goddess whose power is a little more...destructive. âĄ
Stryge is the Goddess of Storms, Sky, and Magic. Sheâs an Eagle that rules the Salt Flats. While she has quite the temper, get on the destructive deityâs good side and she will bless you with the knowledge of her power.
She rewards the ambitious and does not mind flaunting her power over the weather. She could bless the rains or conjure a wicked lightning storm at her will. Alas, abusing her gifts or deceiving her only amplifies her already rather fickle attitude to everyone around.
âHere to misuse whatâs left of my power?â
The Salt Flats used to be a prosperous place - the three lighthouses became beacons of hope and knowledge for adventuring mages. Stryge often had a soft spot for plants, such as the Moon Glory flowers that blossomed in Glebâs Canyons. The local Witchwood trees were tended to by the Mages, much to her delight. The Mages in turn benefited from this arrangement, since the Salt Flats yielded precious pearls that local water often created.
âThe wraiths took everything in this world in the hope of eternal life. Let them suffer in the world theyâve made.â
Free Stryge from her wraith prison and sheâll grant you the power of the wind through the Cloak of Winds. Initially, itâll allow you to glide through the air (consuming your mana as you do so) but, if you continue to be brave, you may impress her enough to upgrade it. She may even find you talon-ted!
She will also allow you a small amount of her âshockingâ power if you bring her a dry feather from one of the surviving birds. Throw this feather to unleash a concentrated lighting bolt and a gust of wind- good for clearing wraiths and their murky corruption. The further away you throw, the more powerful the wind will be!

Wildmender November 20, 2023 Update Patch Notes
Hi Wildmenders! In this weekâs patch update, we made good strides on fixes as well as performance improvements once again. Weâve just pushed build 201 on Steam. Looking ahead, we are entering the holiday season, so stay tuned for more events and announcements.
Now, onto the patch notes.
Changes:
Updated the text of the âCollect Copperâ tutorial step to be clearer, in English and Chinese.
Increased the health of Windmills and Water Pipes:
Water Pipe 30 -> 50
Water Pipe Splitter 30 -> 60
Windmill 150 -> 200
Fixes:
Fixed several achievements not unlocking for guest players in multiplayer: âUmbrella Farmerâ, âAn Acquired Tasteâ, âTechnically Known As âWaterââ, and âDesperate Times, Desperate Measures.â
Fixed some large trees and cultivars with large size modifiers, such as the Enduring Oak, not crowding each other as intended (This also fixes these plants self-seeding too close together).
Fixed automatic respawn sometimes failing if the player was facing the wrong direction.
Fixed âWraith Attack Soonâ warning appearing during quests that disabled wraith attacks.
Fixed a case where a guest player could find the object carried on their back invisible, and be unable to put it down or pick up anything else, if the hosting player reloaded a save. This issue could have affected plants, frogs, and Ancient Worker Bee Sigils.
Fixed Serpent Statue being convertible into a Crab Statue.
Fixed some issues with prioritization of procedural trees (led to trees not generating when they should).
Improved navigation of Spirit Darters and Frogs to reduce them getting lost or stuck inside rocks.
Fixed another edge case where the Titan Crabâs claw could block major locations (Ex, the Arx Altar).
Fixed lightning strike ground decals not cleaning up correctly after the strike finishes.
Fixed the issue of Naiaâs zone revival quest starting if the player had not yet completed the Meadow Mothers quest.
Fixed a case where the Traditional Chinese language setting could prevent sending text chat.
Fixed the issue of a player being unable to select other Sigils Gates on the gate map while carrying multiple acorn cultivars in controller mode.
Fixed a case where a guest player could get stuck âjumpingâ over the Titan Crab.
Performance
Improved networking of inventory items and clock time (should reduce desyncs of either).
Improved memory usage over time in long play sessions, particularly as a multiplayer host.
Improved performance of plant and biome simulation, particularly in large gardens.
Improved performance of single-player load, especially in worlds with lots of biome modifiers (Mothers).
Smoothed out simulation performance so it should create fewer noticeable framerate spikes.

Meet Gleb - The Earth Shaper đ
Can you beelieve that the Canyons used to be a hive of activity? Where mages used to swarm? đ
Gleb, known as The God of the Earth, Construction and Crafts, or simply the Earth Shaper, is the ruler of the Canyons. He is a Bee, one who took great pride in his city. Mages and artists from all over the world swarmed to his Mage Retreats and some of the best work was produced under his watchful eye. He masterminded the construction of magical worker bees, who built temples. Everything was going well.
Until he was betrayed.
The mages, who once were his allies, turned on Gleb. They poisoned their homes, their lives, their city. Their leader called the Mage Retreats âa danger to societyâ, and they agreed. Gleb, now powerless without his priests and allies, could only watch as the Canyons were plunged into darkness.
While Gleb feels anger and resentment toward those who betrayed him, he is also wracked with feelings of guilt and remorse. Gleb sees Naia as an ally, and Stryge as a friend, although heâs not sure sheâd return that affection. Heâs open to helping you, heâs just not sure how to.
âThey may think themselves immortal, but they are weak and foolish.â
Gleb, once saved, will gift you the Earthwrightâs Chisel. This powerful tool has the ability to level and shape the very earth youâre standing on and was what allowed him to carve the canyons. Normally, someone would need to study and practise for years to master it. Unfortunately, you do not have that time.
He will also give you the ability to harvest honey through soldier and worker bees. This honey can be used to create delicious Festival Cakes, although they are a little dry, so make sure to have some water when you fancy a sweet treat.
His power, while muted, will also cleanse the poison of the Canyons in most places, leaving you free from the toxins to become a busy bee!
