Today we have very important news. Will To Live Online becomes free since the 07th of November 2019.
Our independent indie team has been working hard on our game, publishing new updates and improving gameplay, almost for two years since the first alpha-version build was released.
Our goal is to make Will To Live if not the best, but one of the best post-apocalyptic games from CIS. And we believe that we do everything well to reach it. And we are targeted to continue our work in this direction and further!
Initially, we tried to make a game that was loyal to the player in terms of the economy and did not force the player to constantly think about pressing problems in the game. We think, that we should continue keeping this way in the future, even after changing the distribution model. However, it should be understood that some things in the game will be changed. We believe that a pay-to-win system, as it often happens to other projects, is unacceptable in our game.
Instead of it, we are going to move our Item Shop from Steam into the game, which allows us to make it more comfortable and extend character customization options, and also we will offer various solutions that increase player comfort. All items which were bought before will stay with players. Anyway, we will extend our possibilities for monetization, since it will be the only source of our revenue.
BONUSES
Sure, we want to reward our players, who support us in Early Access. Everyone who paid full price until the 7th of November 2019 will receive some bonuses!
A possibility to create few characters for free will not be disabled on your accounts. “Free-to-play” players will able to create only one character for free.
When we will introduce the new in-game shop, you will receive a special currency - credits. The amount of these credits will be equal to the game price by its cost. Using these credits, you can buy items in the new in-game shop.

Dear community! We would like to convey to you one more important thought, which seems to us obvious and correct. Each game developer wishes to his game the only one thing: that it lives and develops confidently. Nobody, who in their right mind, will do deliberately the game “worsen”, “spoil”, etc. We in this regard, of course, are no exception!
As each developer, we love our project, and we appreciate the support from our community! However, on bare enthusiasm and altruism projects cannot develop indefinitely. Trite: renting a server costs money, not to mention the rest. We will try to do everything to make our project develops further.

Halloween event

Unique sinister helmet, which differs not only by its appearance but it has better specifications than SSH-40. You can get this helmet only via exchanging gift cards from Mr. NukePumkin.

It is worth noting that, unlike weapons, a helmet cannot be bought on Steam.

Other changes:
Grenade throwing animation has been improved;
Now, when it is raining, the ground becomes wet in some locations;
Starter member capacity of the clan now has been increased from 5 players to 10 per level;
The behavior of matador has been improved;
Buildings in the “Canyon” location now are more resistant to grenade explosions;
Contribution log has been added to the Clan interface of PDA;
Information about required points for each level and limits has been added to PDA in the Clan section.

Today we have published a small update that contains next fixes and changes:
Clan leaders now have the possibility to exchange PvP, PvE, and Craft Points. In addition, they can convert PvE points to PvP and vice versa. That means, regardless of your gameplay style, you can continue to develop your clan! Take into account that there is a specified exchange rate between points; some point ratios are 1:30, while others are 1:20.
Clan skill trees along with skill requirements are now displayed to all clan members;
The countdown timer between roadblock capturing has been reduced;
A new "Radio" anomaly has been added in the warehouse in Korovie;
Fixed a bug in which it was possible to bring a weapon into the Maze;
Fixed a bug in which hornets couldn't do damage to the player.

Today we’ve prepared the update 0.53.8. As we told before, we updated Unreal Engine to version 4.22, introduced a clan leveling system and many other things.
Unreal Engine update to version 4.22
Updating the game engine affects almost every file of the game, that’s why today’s patch is big.
However, thanks to this, experimental support for DirectX 12 appeared in our game. To run the game in the DX12 mode, you should configure Steam as on the screenshot below.
If you get any issues with DirectX 12, we strongly recommend you to use DirectX11 mode.
Slot machines
Slot machines have appeared in the game. They are different by rates and prize pool. Some slot machines allow you to win not only money but custom weapon according to your class and medicine kits as well.
Let us note, that the win-rate chance of our slot machines is higher than on the same slot machines in real life.
Updated Clan System
Clan levels
Clans got their own leveling system. In other words, all new clans will obtain just first level and participants limitation which set up to 5 members. When clan gets a new level, the maximum quantity of participants increases to 5 members more. Moreover, each clan level allows open new technologies, which players have to study in the clan technology tree to make a clan stronger.
It is useful to note that all clans, who already have a huge amount of participants, will not able to invite new members until they will not develop their clan to the required level.
How to level-up the clan?
To increase the level of the clan, all participants should gain three kinds of points: PvE, PvP and Craft points. To earn these points, there are new daily quests will appear in the Clan interface of PDA. All these quests are sorted by a few types, and, depends on the quest, you receive PvP, PvE or Craft points. Wherein, all suggested quests will be possible to complete even by low-level players to make recruits useful as well for developing of the clan.
All of the gained points will account automatically to the general clan scores.
Clan skills
Clan skill trees appeared as well. Thankful new clan levels, new skills will available to study in the tree. Developing these skills let to get new possibilities for all participants of the clan. For example, you can study “Big clan storage” skills to increase the capacity of your clan storage, or, you can study “Faction Technologies” to get advanced technologies, recipes or ammunition of your faction.
To study skills of the clan, participants of the clan have to earn “Technologies points” in the same way as PvP and PvE points. As in the first case, to get these points players must do clan daily quests. All received points accounts to clan score automatically as well, but the leader of the clan will decide which branch of tree better to study, and clan skills not possible to reset.
In general, we added about 30 daily quests that available in the clan interface of PDA. Studied clan skills display in the special section “Clan Parameters”. At this moment, we added clan skill-tree designed for 5-6 levels, but we will increase the number of clan skills in the future.
New weapon
In this version, we added two new revolvers: S&W .44 Magnum and S&W .500 Magnum.
S&W .44 Magnum is targeted to 25th level players and looks pretty good on this level.
S&W .500 Magnum is a first weapon in the game which targeted to 30th level players. It is a very powerful handgun that can make you wondered by eliminating enemies by one shot. Since .500 Magnum is a very strong caliber, this revolver requires 6 points of strength to use it. Both revolvers are available at Canyon bases and from Karina in the Tunnels, however, ammunition for them is not on sale. Players should craft them.
Other changes
Added a possibility to create and edit the description of the clan;
Solved a problem with railing collision in the tunnels;
Mines and grenades now deal less damage through the walls;
Guards were removed from Korovie. Now players must be more careful;
Logs in the Clan storage now displays not a server time, but your local time;
“Pioneer” rifle got reduced recoil;
Fixed a bug with fast knife attack;
Fixed several bugs with weapon switching;
Fixed a bug due to the weapon was not able to switch after grenade throwing;
Similar to 3D-preview, we added a possibility to preview any item before buying;
Fixed a huge amount of small bugs.
Clan system rework

Today we would like to tell you about the updated clan system which will be introduced in the future. For example, clans will get their own skill tree and leveling system, which lets players extend possibilities and get new features to each clan member.

Moreover, we foresee additional technologies, which increase the power of clan participants due to opening new skills, which will be available to all clan members. And if you study technologies which improve some class, for example, engineers, all engineers of your clan will receive additional nodes in their tree of skills. In cases, when the player leaves the clan, all additional skills will be disabled and all contributed skill points will be returned.
To study technologies of the clan, participants of the clan have to earn “Technologies points” in the same way as PvP and PvE points. As in the first case, to get these points players must do clan daily quests. All received points accounts to clan score automatically as well, but the leader of the clan will decide which technology better to study.
Conclusion
We believe, that these changes should positively affect the quality of the clan composition and very useful for clans in general.
In addition, leaders of the clans might observe for members activity through statistics: leaders get to know, how many points earned each member and thanks to which, it will be possible to assess the contribution of a certain player to the common business of the clan.

Today we’ve published a new patch with the following changes.
Clans
In this update, we’ve slightly expanded the functionality of the clans: now all players who met requirements can apply for the clan on the server via PDA. Clan leaders and their deputies got a possibility to accept or decline these requests. Thankful to this, now the recruiting for the new clan members more convenient and easy, and new players can find the clan more easily.
“Friends and enemies” list
In this version, we’ve improved the “Friends and enemies” section of PDA. Now thankful the icon you can understand who of your friends is online in the current location.
Also, a possibility to send direct messages to friends (and not only) appeared there. And if your friend is located in the same location as you, you can group with him to play together. Or, if you see that your enemy is online… you know what to do...
Other changes
Now you can receive a notification about new mail if post boxes are placed on this location.
Stamina spend faster by 30% and recover slower by 30% when the gas mask is activated;
Grenades usage experience now grow up faster;
Fixed a bug with an incorrect exit from the “Spider Cave” location;
Fixed a bug with some “Radio” anomalies which previously could teleport a player to inaccessible parts of separated “Solnechny Outskirts”;
Most of the items got increased limitation of the price during the selling on commission. Now you can set up higher prices;
Now bog belches and bears don’t like different trees and players, who abuse it.
Update "West Wind of Changes" is ready for download (0.53.6)!

Update 0.53.6 is ready for download. As we told before, in this version we split up the West part of “Solnechny Outskirts”, but that’s not all. Let’s go!
Separation of “Solnechny Outskirts” location
The West part of “Solnechny Outskirts” has been separated into three parts. Locations became smaller and not only new safe zones have appeared, but new objects and views as well.
New territories and entrances were marked in the picture below.
Also, these locations got new titles. “Zone 1” saved its title - “Solnechny Outskirts”. Zone 2 got the title “Forestry”, and “Zone 3” was named as “Minaev’s Territory”. The location where dislocated the camp of the “Black Sunset” is named “East Territories” now.
Clans
Since this version, the “Clan” section now always shows in PDA. Players who are not in faction or clan now can see information there about what they have to do to create or join the clan.
In addition, now all clan leaders can set up a description of tabs in the clan storages.
It should allow filling storage more orderly.
Smoke grenades
In this version, we’ve added a new recipe for smoke grenades crafting. In several cases, smoke grenades can be a good cover, which may affect the fight. Thus, it is worth considering the smoke grenades as a tactical element.
But, it is not possible to buy this recipe. You have to get it at first. Rumors are flying that this recipe can be obtained on the “Swamp” location.
Keep in mind, that identification of players who players covered in the smoke does not display.
Gas grenades and fireworks
New shell types for GL-43 have appeared on sale in the “Canyon” location: gas grenade and fireworks grenade.
The gas grenade can deal damage to the enemy in a wide enough area and take him a surprise, especially if the enemy is not ready for chemical attacks and did not take the necessary precautions. Pay attention to the fact, that such means of protection as gas masks can neutralize toxic effects.
Other changes
Identification of character and monster now disappear faster if they hide behind obstacles and disappear from sight;
Amount of sewing threads has been increased around the world;
Fixed a bug with the switching of shooting mode when a character moves between locations;
Solved a problem with Nagant reloading;
Different bugs and problems with weapon shooting and reloading have been fixed;
Fixed a problem with the “Shell” artifact spawn.
The stew has been removed from sale, but now it can be found more often around the world;
Double-click to the items in inventory now works the same way as the “Shift+Click” combination;
Now the action for food and water signs as “Eat” and “Drink” instead of “Use”;
Fixed a bug when a declined invitation to the group does not disappear;
Now a “J” button opens the main menu in PDA instead of last visited section;
Fixed a bug when the “Roaming Boar” wasn’t able to deal damage;
A damage with the basic ammo now shown in the weapon description from the merchants;
Now it is not possible to enable Emotions during the jumping;
Fixed a bug, when players were not able to get the damage when the jump from hills.
The location splitting in the upcoming update

Since upcoming version 0.53.6, the west part of the “Solnechniy Outskirts” will be split into three parts.
The reason for this split is connected to poor performance on the servers’ side with a large concentration of low-level players. Though all sorts of actions taken by us, we didn’t manage to reach an acceptable performance level on client and servers side because of game engine features.
Location splitting will entail a series of the following changes. In particular, it will cause appearing additional safe-zones and transitions between locations. It will make survival experience to low-level players easier because it will reduce the distance between safe-zones and amount of safe-zones will grow up as well. In addition, the “Radio” anomaly which might be used for fast traveling by “Strange Map” routes, will transfer character even between locations.
Moreover, the splitting of the west part of “Outskirts locations” will let us fill them with new game objects. Locations will be smaller, that’s why we can add new objects without performance loses in the future.
ATTENTION: All stashes placed in Zone 2 and Zone 3 (look the picture above) will be removed from the game. Please, take away your stashes in these zones to prevent loot loses.
