**Please back up your saves. There is a post about this on the forums**
This is primarily a frame-rate fixing patch. Every area in the game has been broken up into multiple portions. When you load into your save, you should be teleported to the correct "frame" based on where you saved. If for any reason when you load into your save, you are in the incorrect area or are "falling" outside of the map, please post on the forums. We've checked most areas but some may have slipped past.
In addition if there are any issues with missing art assets please report them to the forums. When moving objects to a new frame some of them might not have been copied over properly.
General
Modifiers should now work properly.
Almost all areas in the game have been broken up into multiple frames, which should boost framerates by ~30-40% for most players, if not more.
The lowest settings should now have even higher framerates, but look slightly worse. (No smoke, limited glows, etc)
The menu should no longer show for 1 frame at the start of each new area.
Saving is now triggered on events, so there should be fewer Darkheim watch issues.
Hellspawn mode should be working properly now. If you find any traps or hazards that instantly kill you, please report them as bugs.
Orbs of purity have their hitboxes made smaller, and should now travel straighter.

Upcoming
1.07 will be a bug fixing and balance patch, with some changes coming to the later game to make the jump in difficulty at AoA less intimidating.
1.06 updated by mistake.
Mistakingly updated the game to a semi-broken 1.06 build. I didn't know It'd go live without me pressing publish on steam. I've reverted back to 1.05.
If you've loaded your save with the 1.06 build it won't load properly on older builds so you can either wait till later when the actual patch is released or if you have a backup you can play that.
Edit: Or you can reach out on the forums and Chaemirix will manually fix your save.
If you are running patch 1.05
Please exit and update to the lastest hotfix. There's a small but important bug we've fixed.
Thank you.
Edit: We are aware of an issue with the 8th boss, Ancient Construct and this will be adressed in the next hotfix.
Patch 1.05 is Released
**Please back up your saves. There is a post about this on the forums**
This is primarily a balance and bug-fix patch, but will also convert your global setting and option to a new format. Should you experience any form of issues with the new format, please make a post on the forums. This shouldn't affect your saves at all.
General
The main source of corruption was through a compression extension. We have removed all forms of it, both in saves and global variables. When you load up game your saves should convert to an uncompressed format. As a result, saves should no longer corrupt nearly as often, even during crashes or BSOD. It never hurts to back up your saves just in case, as always
Screen shakes have been reduced in multiple events.

The background islands in Terrestrial Vale should now move properly.
Modified a jump in Terrestrial Vale that was too difficult.
Underworld
Laser bug on Ancient Constructs should be fixed.

Twin Orcs have had their HP reduced slightly.
Path of Decay

You should now save properly even if you don't skip Azurel's cutscene.
Azurel's new attacks will now trigger earlier.
The priority and frequency of Azurel's attacks have been modified.
Azurel's HP has been moderately increased.
When you defeat Azurel her effects should now disappear properly.
Heart of the Baneful
Heart of the Baneful should now have a proper title card.
Jeh'Oul's cutscene should now trigger properly on lower graphical settings.
Jeh'Oul should now stomp properly (hitbox was too small).

Jeh'Oul's HP has been increased.
Impaling now does a higher percentage.
Upcoming:
<*>We've noted some fullscreen issues with players using monitors not at 16:9, and have posted some minor work arounds. We're looking into a potential fix. There's also an issue with the fullscreen setting not saving properly on restart.
~1.04 UPDATE~
A hotfix has been put out that should fix the majority of issues introducted with converting saves in the original patch 1.04.
For those who would like to know what happened, an extension that looked at your computer's name (was left over from leaderboards) interfered with the new save system and would, for some people, delete in-game achivements or cosmetics. This extension didn't do anything in the current game, and has no purpose anymore so it's been removed and this issue should no longer occur.
If you backed up your save, you can use the backups and the data should still be fine. If you did not, you may be able to use a system restore point to get your old saves back. Because the data is deleted, we cannot restore it.
If you can prove some of the cosmetics you had through steam pictures or achivements previous to the patch I can restore these on a case-by-case basis, but there is no global patch we can put out for this.
We're incredibly sorry for anyone this might have effected, and will try to fix and problems this may have caused.
If you are still experiencing problems please post on the steam forums.
EDIT: There was another issue with the game flashing your save information for a second then going back to the menu, this should be fixed too.
~UPDATE ON 1.04~
Please back up your saves before updating to patch 1.04
Currently it seems like saves are being converted properly but the game is reading them in wrong. This can hopefully be fixed in a hotfix very soon.
Until then we urge everyone to back-up your saves just in-case.
Edit: A hotfix is out that should fix all saves. If you have errors with achivements or cosmetics let us know.
Patch 1.04 is Released
**The way information is saved was changed this patch. When you load up your game your saves might not appear to display the right information, but when you load into the game they should convert to the new format and display properly. In all pre-1.04 saves your % and death count will be wrong, but moving forward all new saves will display correct data. If your save will not read as a result of this update (not related to previous darkheim/crash/BSOD corruption) let us know.**
**Please back up your saves. There is a post about this on the forums** We've had some issues with save corruption, especially surrounding the Darkheim Watch. It never hurts to err on the side of caution. It takes a few moments to make a copy of your data folder and put it somewhere else, so while we work to resolve this issues please back-up your saves before and after a boss battle or whenever you feel you need to.
General
Percentage issues have been fixed. They were too high in 1.00-1.02 and too low in 1.03.
Backgrounds in many areas were not scrolling properly after a framerate fix. They should no longer jerk as much.
Pressing F4 should no longer reset your steam achievements. This was left over from testing, sorry for anyone this affected.
Removed another old console command that would cause issues with certain boss fights.
Life Orb will no longer trigger if your health is too low. There was no real point in you traveling back to the last safe area only to take damage and die. This should also fix many Life Orb loop problems.
The Darkheim Watch should no longer cause corruption issues with saves. It doesn't hurt to err on the side of caution however. Please read the post about backing up your saves.
