Online Maintenance - October 31

Birders!

On October 31, Wingspan servers will undergo maintenance works to introduce a small fix for online mode. During this time, entering online mode will be impossible.

Maintenance will begin at 10:00AM UTC/11:00AM CET/3:00AM PDT and will last for around 30 minutes.

As with every online maintenance, please end all your matches before the maintenance and do not start any new ones close to the maintenance hours. Otherwise, there's a risk of losing ongoing games and karma points.

Let your fellow birders know about online maintenance, so the process can go smoothly.

Hotfix - October 30th
[p]Birders, the hotfix has just hatched and is ready for download! [/p][p][/p][p]Below you'll find the list of fixes:
[/p][p]Fixes in the online mode:[/p]
  • [p]Friends unable to join an online game when invited using Your Friend list.[/p]
  • [p]The game not recognising when a user deletes an invitation before the game starts.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Other fixes:[/p]
  • [p]Players' colors changing in the Duet mode with the player order set to random.[/p]
  • [p]Players not owning all of the expansions seeing a different Champ of the Bird challenge.[/p]
  • [p]Text fields closing upon pressing the 'X' button on the keyboard.[/p]
  • [p]"Enable bug reporting" button setting now saves after closing the game.[/p]

Wingspan Online Update Is Now Live!

You’ve been sharing your thoughts with us, and we’ve been listening. Thanks to your feedback, the Online mode just got a bunch of quality-of-life upgrades:

🪶In-game “Your Friends” list - set up games quicker with your favourite Birders!

  • “Your Friends” option in the Online menu allows you to add other Wingspan players to your list by typing in their in-game nicknames.
  • The list displays two sections: your platform friends and Wingspan in-game friends.
  • Check the star for your favourite in-game friends to display them at the top of the “In-game Friends” list.
  • When setting up a custom online game, use the “Invite a friend” option to easily add your friends to the match - either in bulk or one by one.

🤖AI upgrade for all online games:

  • Now, whenever a player times out or forfeits in a matchmaking or a custom online game, AI will step in their place!
  • In the matchmaking games, this means the remaining players can finish the match and gain Karma!

🌺Oceania Expansion in the Duet Matchmaking - enjoy the sweet nectar with both Asia and Oceania Expansions enabled!

🔔Online Notifications - never miss your move again! You’ll now receive in-game alerts when:

  • it’s your turn in another matchmaking game, and/or
  • there’s only 1 minute left before your turn times out.
  • You can tweak these notifications in the game settings anytime.

🐛Bug report visibility is now an option that can be easily changed in Settings.

We hope these updates make your time in Wingspan even smoother, more fun, and more Birder-friendly. Thank you for helping us make the game better!

Wingspan Online Update Coming Soon!

Birders! 

We’ve been listening closely to your feedback, and we’re excited to announce that our next Online Mode update is coming soon to Wingspan!


Soon, you’ll be able to connect with fellow players more easily thanks to the new in-game Your Friends list, enjoy a more forgiving and uninterrupted experience in matchmaking with AI that steps in if you run out of time, and spread your wings in Duet Mode with both the Asia and Oceania expansions enabled. And to make sure you never miss a move, we’re also introducing in-game notifications that will let you know when it’s your turn in another matchmaking game, or when time is almost up. 


Before the update goes live, we’ll be performing a short server maintenance. We’ll be sharing the exact time and duration soon, so stay tuned! 

We hope these quality of life improvements will make your Wingspan experience feathery smooth.

We’re back with a small update! This one fixes the stubborn overview mode that was blocking your moves, and takes care of an issue where the app wouldn’t launch on Radeon GPU devices.

It all started as a wild idea to bring one of the most beloved modern board games to the screen, and it’s grown beyond what we ever dreamed. Three major expansions, decorative packs, seasons, and millions of turns later, Wingspan Digital found its place in the hearts of many players. Every day, thousands of you log in to build your preserves, play your favorite birds, and try out new strategies. Having such a passionate community is our biggest achievement.[/p][p align="justify"]Today, we celebrate not only the game’s success but, most of all, the people behind it: you, our team, the art, the music, and all the work and time that went into the creative process. We are constantly inspired by you, by your feedback, suggestions, passion, and creativity. It was certainly a wild journey full of crazy ideas and inspirations. We always knew we wanted to preserve the soul of the board game while creating something unique, something that could only exist in digital form. The first prototypes looked nothing like the rich preserve you know today. We drew our ideas with pen and paper, tried to bring the first birds to life through animation, and took some really bold steps, like adding a single-habitat view, drawing our own backgrounds for each season and holiday. We even contacted local Polish legends, and now you can hear Krystyna Czubówna in the game (everyone knows her here!).[/p][p align="justify"]Fast forward to today: after the European and Oceania Expansions, we’re just three months past the release of the Asia Expansion. There are so many birds in the game now, but even more Birders out in the wild![/p][p align="justify"]We wanted to share the history of Wingspan Digital with you. We found old footage and put it together into a short documentary. Wingspan’s 5th Anniversary Background is Back!

Wingspan Digital is turning 5, and we’d love for you to join the celebration!

Since this is our 5th Anniversary, we thought we needed someone special to join the party. The coolest bird on the block has arrived to celebrate! A true Flock Star in birthday shades and full bling is now available as a brand-new, free 5th Anniversary Player Portrait. Together, you will rule the dance floor of your preserve and party until the score comes up.

Patch - September 8th

Birders! A new patch is now live!

[p]September is extra special to us as the next Wingspan Digital anniversary is heading our way – and we have many surprises prepared for you![/p][p][/p][p]We’re starting with a new patch! It fixes a bunch of bird power issues, improves UI and gameplay flow, and makes some changes to Automa.
