What a loss! If only there would be a skilled woodworker around so we could keep going...

WoodZone | Devlog #2

Hello, lumberjacks!



Currently, we are focused on creating new quests and locations for the WoodZone.


The game is receiving a whole new story and engaging quests. We want to avoid adding fetch missions for the main story that will require You to cut 50 trees or something similar. Those will still appear as they simply fit the theme but their weight moved to additional quests.



The idea is to set our main character on his woodcutting expedition for... something ;) We don't want to spoil too much from the story right now. Gameplay-wise major change is instead of building one enormous woodcutting facility we will run several of them each in different locations with a different set of goals to achieve. By one day we will need to build a bridge, and some complex construction by another.



The main base isn't going away though. It will become our hub from which we can start new expeditions. Hub itself will contain its own quests and by accomplishing missions we will progress the Main Base development further.

Meanwhile, we have managed to solve most of the issues created by upgrading the Unreal Engine version used for the game. Our animations are back and alive.

Next Devlog in two weeks. Most probably we will talk further about the minigames and quick-time events.

WoodZone | Devlog #1

Hello, lumberjacks!



It has been a while since our last update, and we would like to share some news, plans and explanations.


  1. The game is still under development and will be published.
    We haven't abandoned it for a single day.

  2. We are going to post Devlogs regularly from now on.

  3. The game has changed a lot, and we had to change its scope.




We need a word of explanation here. We had suffered a major delay with the game development due to the Unreal Engine version being used for WoodZone.

Originally it was developed on Unreal Engine 4.14 that caused us some technical issues that a currently used version solved.

Sadly just as much it solves a lot of troubles, it brings just as many new ones.



With the failure of Kickstarter, we had to change the scope of the game as well.

Originally it was supposed to become a multiplayer sandbox game with a lot of Tycoon-like gameplay.

Currently, the game has become a single-player story-driven game with a lot of Tycoon-like gameplay.

For that purpose, we are doing three things in parallel.

- Fixing Unreal Engine version swap related issues.
- Improving already made stuff while fixing it (mostly graphics)
- Creating new content for the game.


Right now, our main concern is to fix animations in the game as soon as we make it, we will be able to show much more from the gameplay.



Next Devlog in two weeks. We will post it every 2 or 3 weeks from now on.

Steam Game Festival - Demo Release

we are proud to present our game during the Steam Game Festival. At the same time, I would like to inform you that WoodZone Demo is now available for everyone to download for the duration of the festival. The demo is still in development, which may cause bugs that we haven't fixed yet.

Before WoodZone comes out in Alpha Access, we would like to satisfy your curiosity. We will gather with our developers on 19 June 2020 so we will be available for you this whole time. Because of that will be able to answer EVERY question about the upcoming adventure.

(small) Progress Update



In recent months, we've worked hard to make the game work as well as possible. We still have a lot of work ahead of us in the future, in terms of physics and content.

I am pleased to announce that the game has moved to the next stage of work, in which we can work on content again. It also means that the Demo version is already close to release and we are now dealing with formalities.

The above graphic presents what WoodZone looks like today. In recent days a lot has changed from the visual side and we can include a new sky with dynamic lighting (cloudy), new grass with interaction and flying animals.
