Little Update + Statement
Since there haven't been any official announcements here for a while, we would like to mention the current work and address the criticism received.
Development Status
World of Retailing has not received any further public updates since the last major update (towards the end of 2022), but we assure you that we are still working on the game, albeit at a slower pace due to time constraints.
The current development status includes several bug fixes:
Fixed an issue where interactions were indicated even when there was no possibility for interaction.
The BlackMarket was not available for rent or purchase.
NPCs became increasingly rare in the city after a certain amount of playtime due to faulty spawn conditions.
NPCs were unable to make any more purchases after spending a certain amount (based on their starting budget) because they no longer had enough money for most products. The limit for when NPCs can buy things has been increased, and the respawn behavior of NPCs has been changed to prevent complete bankruptcy.
The decision-making process of NPCs has been adjusted to be more dynamic, especially regarding the potential opening of the BlackMarket, which requires higher fluctuation to be effectively utilized.
The tutorial NPC now has an additional condition before being able to move from their current spot to the next, ensuring that the player doesn't lose sight of them. Additionally, the tutorial NPC has been given the ability to take alternative paths, providing the player with easier routes.
The engine sound of vehicles could not be adjusted higher or lower regardless of the setting. This can now be controlled using the "SFX Volume" slider.
- There are also already parts of the new systems for future personnel management (and therefore for the staff themselves).
HOTFIX 0.4.1.1 B2
- There was a bug that caused the interaction information not to disappear, but it indicated that there was no possibility to interact (red circle). - There was a bug that caused a customer's price to be calculated incorrectly at the checkout, causing (the automatic) checkout to not work if the customer had an amount ending in 0 cents. - It was possible to lose products in the shop inventory if you no longer had any of the product in your inventory and then wanted to put it back into your inventory from the shelf.
HOTFIX 0.4.1.1 (2)
- Fixed a bug with palettes/product boxes not dropping, they would instead stay in front of you and show the "drop" interaction even if you had already done so.
HOTFIX 0.4.1.1
- Fixed a bug with recent tutorial changes that continued to the tutorial getting stuck at the car dealer if the player bought the car too early. - Fixed a bug in the tutorial that repeatedly caused the tutorial wizard to freeze if the player was too far away, which could cause the player to miss important information. - Fixed a bug with the tutorial that resulted in if the player saved and reloaded during the tutorial they would have to start over instead of picking up where they left off.
Patch 0.4.1
- Fixed a bug with the latest tutorial changes that would cause the tutorial to stuck at the car dealer. - Fixed a bug with the tutorial which caused the player to always get teleported into the city hall instead of keeping its position and going on where it was paused. - Fixed a bug where the Shop-Shelf Inventory wouldn't keep its layout when the given product is at 0 stack. - Fixed a bug with the NPC-AI which caused shops to be flagged as "full" while beeing empty.
