We are in the stages of releasing the Mod tool for World Ship Simulator that will allow players to add their own ships into the game. In order to activate this, you will need to enter into a new beta branch.
- Right click on World Ship Simulator in your library and select properties
- Select the Beta tab
- Use the drop down menu to select the Mod Tool Beta.
The Mod tool exe will download and will now be available in the game files. Along with documentation with a small walkthrough to help players start importing their ships.
Players who are not interested in creating new ships can still download other ships from players from Steam Workshop by activating the mod tool beta.
Included in the new update is a new ship! The Cruiser. Players will also be able to find another 3 new ships already on the Steam Workshop to test out as well. Just subscribe to any ship you want to try in the Workshop and it will be available to purchase in any Ship Store in game.
If you come across any issues, do let us know by contacting support@excalibur-publishing.com

Update 0.10.0
Hello everyone,
We have a few fixes for todays update and a couple of new additions. We know that some of you have been wanting to drive any ship so what we have done is added a rental system which allows you to use the ship for 5 missions at a much lower cost than the purchase price.
We have also improved the radar so all ships now appear on the radar. Full change log below along with some known issues
Changes:
Rental System - Ships can now be rented from the ship store for use on 5 missions at a time at a much lower cost than the purchase price
Improved Radar
Fixes
Fixed the frequent stuttering issue
Fixed an issue where graphics would create an issue when set to 'fast' quality
Fixed an issue where missions could not be completed
Fixed towing
Fixed an issue where players might re spawn at an incorrect location
There are also a few issues that we are aware of and are looking to fix and upload a new build.
Missions not completing correctly: Whenever you complete a mission after clicking ok on the 'Mission Complete' window you will receive the points and money as normal but the Mission timer will keep running and the '!' symbol with the mission info will remain on screen, if you try to enter a harbour you will be warned that you are abandoning the mission even though you have already finished it and received the rewards. Only seems to happen on old saves.
Bridge controls shaking during first 30 seconds: There is a strange issue that occurs during the first 30 seconds of gameplay after loading up a game. I think this issue is related to the ocean scrolling and the floating point operations precision fix; after loading up the game all the interior bridge controls will shake around and flash like they used to in older builds, but after the ocean scrolls this stops and all the controls are fixed and do not flash.
Some Jerky movement 1st person movement
Sea scrolling – This can cause other issues such as not being able to interact with the world map correctly and fast travelling out of bounds
Renting costs nothing – Renting ships from the ship store doesn’t cost any money

Progress Update - Internal View
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share just a little bit of info on what we're working on. One of the things that the community has been after has been improved internals. We captured a screenshot this morning for one of our vessels, implementing a few extra graphic elements. Check out the image below:
Additionally, while in the internal view, we have added a hold right mouse button so that you can look around in this view.
We have quite a significant update planned, And an even bigger change log of fixes and changes due. I really am hoping to get a build uploaded this week. Will keep you posted on any news
All the best,
Chris
Progress Report - Radar Work In Progress
Hi everyone,
I am afraid no new updates for this weekend. We are hoping to however release new patches early next week with a few fixes and suggestions. We're currently working on the bridge interiors and have designed a new Radar. The image is a work in progress and may change a little when it is put into the game.
More news to come soon
All the best,
Chris
ChangeLog 09.12
Hi everyone,
We’ve made a few changes to World Ship Simulator today. The biggest changes in this update include some changes to the saturation of colours and increased damage resistance for all boats. Full Changelog below:
ChangeLog 09.12
Changed the colour saturation levels of the game for more realistic visuals
The ‘next mission’ and ‘previous mission’ arrows are now more prominently displayed within the mission select window
Made it easier to talk to NPCs over desks in the harbours
Increased the damage resistance of all boats - boats should now be capable of taking a few harsh knocks before breaking
We are already working towards our next update with new fixes.
ChangeLog v09.11
Hi everyone,
A new update launched for World Ship Simulator. Includes the following fixes:
ChangeLog v 09.11
Fixed an issue where the game would temporarily freeze when leaving the harbour. This happened more frequently in the tug and & fishing boat.
Increased draw distance of stationary ships.
Fixed an issue where if the player broke their ship but was able to moor, they could enter the harbour and the message “your ship is broke” would remain on screen.
Fixed an issue where if you go to the last waypoint before completing all objectives the “pending objective” window pops up. If you then crash the ship, failing the mission the “pending objective” text remains on screen.
Increased the distance that would allow you to talk over the desk of NPC’s instead of needing to walk round their desk.
Fixed a bug where the player can get stuck in a door in the cargo harbour
Fixed an issue where if you fast travel with the engine locked, your speed will continue and if fast travelling to a busy area you may crash near instantly.
At night time, moving ships will now activate their lights.
We're still working on what kind of jobs players would like to complete. If you have any ideas as to how we can create more interesting missions, let us know by checking the announcement below:
What Would You Like To Do In World Ship Simulator?
Hi everyone,
One of the most difficult objectives we face is providing the player with fun and interesting things to do inside the game. Many operations involve a point A to Point B structure. however, what we'd like to do is work on new types of missions. Perhaps these are rescue missions, firefighting missions, more interactivity with a trawler boat to catch fish. Perhaps there is a firework display and you need to find the best spot to weigh anchor to watch it?
Please let us know your ideas as to what you would like to do while playing World Ship Simulator and we can do our best to work on these.
