The full-colour printed manual for Taskforce is now on sale worldwide on Amazon. I wanted the game to have the option of a good quality printed manual, a tribute to the great games of the past that had great manuals, particularly the Microprose games from the 80s and 90s.
The Steam Summer sale is now on and all of the Cornutopia Games have 25% off until July 9. The Flatspace Music Packs and the Flatspace Soundtrack Albums are included too!
A new Taskforce trailer is now live, showcasing the new terrain graphics engine. There is also a second, longer trailer with extended gameplay, and a look at the equipment screen and some of the weapons you can choose from.
The manual is now online too, and full of details about the game if you want to know more. For the first time, the manual will be available as a full-colour printed book from Amazon. I think manuals and the background story to a game are so important. My favourite Microprose games from the 80s and 90s had fantastic manuals, maps and keyboard overlays which really enhanced the game.
Taskforce: The Mutants of October Morgane is due out on July 24th.
Here is the latest screenshot from my next game Taskforce, 8 weeks into the massive redevelopment so far:
The game will be part of the Steam Summer Game festival in June and the Demo Page went public today. Unsure when you will be able to play the demo yet, it's partly down to the Festival rules and guidelines, but it will be in May or June.
The game is due for release on July 24th. I need to make a new video next, as the graphics engine has been completely redesigned since the last one. I'm posting updates in the regular News/Announcements section of the Taskforce page, as well as here and on the Cornutopia Software Facebook Page.
The third Flatspace IIk Music Pack is out now. Like any in-game music for Flatspace, these will trigger at random when you enter a new sector. This will probably be the final music pack. Collect all three to own the ultimate version of Flatspace.
As with any of the music packs there is a detail pdf file with a track list and full descriptions, either as the manual downloaded here on Steam or on the LostInFlatspace website.
Available now with a launch discount for the first week.
Track list:
1. Adrift in Flat Space (0:30)
2. Jellyfish (2:05)
3. Paragon (2:17)
4. Race the Sky (0:56)
5. Requiem for a Million Skin Cells (2:23)
6. The Dying of the Stars (1:30)
7. The Race (0:50)
8. Tiny Moon (0:25)
9. Waiting for the Rain to End (3:12)
I'm happy to say that the Taskforce store is now live. So excited about this game, have been working on it constantly for several weeks now and it's playing really well. Here is a look at the store and some clips of the game in action:
Taskforce will also be my first game with a published book, the printed manual will be sold on Amazon, a 60+ page guide filled with how to play the game, with all of the game details you'll need to enjoy the game, point lists, controls, weapons list and tactical hints.

Flatspace Music Pack 3 Released Soon
Hello everyone,
The third Flatspace IIk Music Pack will be released in one week! Like any in-game music for Flatspace, these will trigger at random when you enter a new sector. This will probably be the final music pack. Collect all three to own the ultimate version of Flatspace.
The original Music Pack 3 for Flatspace II was released in 2013. Some of these pieces of music are included here too, but I also wanted to include some recent music to evoke feelings of space at the end of time; feelings of awe and coldness, silver, and darkness.
The music in this pack includes:
-Adrift In Flat Space.
An original track for this Music Pack, this track is an essentially solo-piano improvisation on the Flatspace theme
-Jellyfish.
A tune full of energy and melody.
-Paragon
Paragon is one of the final tracks from one of my earliest albums, Animalia. The music was inspired by Darwinian genetics, the ladder of species.
-Race The Sky
A supremely happy track was inspired by console racing games.
-Requiem For A Million Skin Cells
Composed in 2017 for the album Cycles & Shadows, this
brooding piano track originally began with a droned speech
about the ageing process
-The Dying Of The Stars
A new track for this music pack, I wanted to include music that had a naturalistic feeling, that could evoke the beauty and mystery of outer space.
-The Race
A fast and happy electronic tune, inspired by both console
game music and J.S. Bach!
-Tiny Moon
A simple piece of music.
-Waiting For The Rain To End
A brooding and slightly melancholic piece of music
composed in 2009 for my album The Twelve Seasons.
I'm happy to announce that our next release will be Taskforce: The Mutants of October Morgane. Taskforce is a turn-based squad-level strategy game; think of games like X-COM or the WarHammer turn-based games. I developed Taskforce originally in 2004, and unlike Flatspace, this is a genre I've been working on for many years.
Taskforce is the 4th game of this type I've created since 1994, the first Taskforce game was on Amiga back then, then came Hilt II, then Arcangel in 1999.
Keep in touch for news on this release, which will probably be in late summer. Meanwhile, here is an image of the game in development; team TF1 ready for equipment in Taskforce H.Q.

Flatspace Soundtrack Albums Released
Hello everyone,
The two Official Soundtrack albums for Flatspace were released today!
Flatspace (The Official Soundtrack) is the original soundtrack album sold on CD back in the early days of Flatspace. Two bonus tracks that didn't make it into the final release of the game are included here, as well as the full 4th and 5th movements from the 2002 version of The Spiral Staircase.
Most of the tracks here on Flatspace II (The Official Soundtrack) are either new releases or new versions: the original intro to the game appears here, a re-recording of Mariner and the 7th Bell, as well as the vocal version of Ultramarine sung by Tor James Faulkner. New tracks include Black Hole, Flatrunner and Waiting For C-Major.
