Zero Hour | Update Part 5

Get ready to immerse in an emotional journey as the long-awaited K9 Attack Dog is finally here to bring a new dimension of companionship and camaraderie to your missions. Iconic firearms like the Smith & Wesson Model 57 and Berreta M9, and strategic utility like the Drone have been added to enhance your tactical arsenal. Weapon aesthetics are now available, making personalization possible for each weapon in the arsenal. To make things more exciting, Daily Challanges and Streaks have been included in the game. This update is also bringing Paradise City to PvP as exclusively DM FFA mode.

K9 Attack Dog

The K9 Attack Dog feature brings an immersive and emotional experience to your missions. As the game starts, you're assigned as a dog handler, initiating your journey with a small, nameable puppy. Initially resting in a cage, the puppy soon becomes interactive and starts playing around, following the player through the training facility. After successfully completing three missions, the canine companion becomes available for mission deployment.

As missions vary, the dog arrives equipped with various gears, a feature aimed to be customizable in the future. The dog grows and improves its abilities with each mission completed together, enhancing its detection skills and bite success rates. However, caution is crucial, as the dog can be fatally wounded by suspects which will prompt a longer wait for a new dog to be assigned. In case the K9 meets its end in the mission, players can bid farewell to their fallen companion by offering a final goodbye and a heartfelt display of respect with one last pet.

Daily Challenges & Streaks

Daily Challenges & Streaks is being introduced as a dynamic feature to amp up your daily Zero Hour experience. Catering to mostly PvP players with some co-op challenges in the mix, this feature presents a fresh set of four challenges every day, allowing players to earn BDT upon completion. Successfully completing all four challenges not only rewards you with valuable BDT but also secures a streak, which is activated on the next day. The stakes are raised with a little competitive edge as the streaks are displayed on a leaderboard, showcasing the players with the highest streaks in the game. This system aims to elevate your daily Zero Hour gaming experience by providing additional challenges for those seeking a more engaging gameplay, but rest assured, the challenges are completely optional.

Revolver & M9 Barreta

Two iconic firearms, the Smith & Wesson Model 57 and the Beretta M9, are finally available to be played in Zero Hour. The Model 57 marks the game's first secondary revolver, renowned for its .41 Magnum caliber, sleek design, and precision, delivering exceptional accuracy and stopping power. Meanwhile, the Beretta M9, known for its reliability and widespread use by military and law enforcement, boasts a 9mm caliber, impressive magazine capacity, and a perfect balance of accuracy and durability, making it a valuable asset for operators in Zero Hour. When playing PvP, the revolver is exclusive to the terrorist’s side, whereas the beretta can be solely played by the counter-terrorist side.

Weapon Aesthetics

Prepare to personalize your arsenal like never before with the introduction of weapon aesthetics in Zero Hour. These aesthetics come in three categories: Free, DLC, and paid (in-game currency). Notably, players can earn BDT (in-game currency) to acquire the paid aesthetics, which gives the players the chance to enhance their weapons without spending real money. The in-game customization menu allows you to preview each aesthetic by applying it, enabling you to assess and visualize the skins before making a purchase. Purchasing weapon aesthetics isn't limited to a single weapon; once collected, the skin becomes available for use across multiple weapons in your inventory. New Utility: Drone

This new utility has been introduced to amplify the players' surveillance capabilities. The drone offers uninterrupted monitoring until its battery runs out. Excitingly, it gives the player the ability to command the Squad AI while piloting the drone, thus, allowing the player to complete the mission without having to even get inside the operation building.

Squad AI improvements

Enhancements to the Squad AI have been made to significantly assist players during missions. The improvements include better pathfinding, addressing and fixing known bugs, including team kills, and a refined understanding of suspect motivations. The Squad AI now shows a better comprehension of player movements and actions, and more efficient breaching and clearing tactics, contributing to more strategic and synchronized gameplay. With this update, the Squad AI will be even more of a formidable asset in completing objectives.

Paradise City PvP

Get ready for an electrifying competitive battle ground as Paradise City, a long-time co-op exclusive map, is now opening its doors to the PvP mode. With its introduction to PvP, the map now offers a competitive lighting mode, optimizing the environment for an immersive and engaging PvP experience. However, it's important to note that it's exclusively available for Deathmatch Free-For-All only.

Hotel Improvements

Enhancements have been made to the hotel environment within the game, focusing on refining the aesthetic experience. These improvements involve the implementation of carpeting across all maps, adding a touch of authenticity to the hotel setting. Additionally, there have been upgrades to the reflection maps, ensuring a more visually stunning experience.

Conclusion:

We are thrilled to finally bring you the much anticipated additions including the attack dog and the flyable drone, and we sincerely hope you enjoy them. Your feedback has been invaluable in shaping the game and enhancing the overall experience. The development of these new features have been a tedious but exciting journey, and we can't wait to hear your thoughts on them. We appreciate your unwavering support, which allows us to create the game we've always envisioned. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.

Zero Hour | Update Part 5 Details

This update brings a thrilling blend of loyalty, firepower, and personalization to the forefront of your Zero Hour experience. The long-awaited K9 Attack Dog is finally here to bring a new dimension of companionship and camaraderie to your missions. Additionally, iconic firearms like the Smith & Wesson Model 57 and Berreta M9, and strategic utility like the Drone has been added to enhance your tactical arsenal. Personalization is made possible with the addition of weapon aesthetics and the upcoming character customization feature. This update is also bringing Paradise City to PvP as exclusively DM FFA mode.

K9 Attack Dog

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the much-anticipated K9 Attack Dog system is finally making its debut in Zero Hour, and it's more than just an in-game tool; it's a loyal companion. Your K9 isn't just another asset; it's a friend. From the moment it's introduced as a small puppy, you get to personalize your K9, name it, give it a good pat, and nurture it by ensuring it avoids unnecessary risks to stay safe.

You'll be introduced to your K9 with a warm greeting before embarking on a long journey of companionship and loyalty. Your new furry partner starts as a small, adorable puppy that you'll get to name. Its fur, color, and patterns will be completely unique to you, ensuring that no one else has the exact same dog.

Initially, your puppy won't accompany you on missions. To help it grow and become a trained companion, you'll need to complete missions without its company. Once it's ready and you've become its designated "Handler," you'll have the privilege to issue commands to your K9 during missions, directing it to either stay close by your side or go on a hunting mission.

In Heel mode, your dog remains close behind, even during heated gunfights, while subtly alerting you to nearby suspects. Hunt mode prioritizes tasks: biting suspects, searching for bombs, rescuing hostages, protecting civilians, and identifying traps respectively.

Your K9 is exclusively loyal to you and won't respond to other players' commands or distractions. If tragedy strikes and you die on a mission, your faithful companion will mourn and seek revenge. However, deploying with the K9 comes with sacrifices—you forfeit the ability to rappel or vault.

Revolver Smithwesson Model 57

The Smith & Wesson Model 57 is a notable addition to Zero Hour as the game's first secondary revolver. This classic firearm is an iconic revolver renowned for its .41 Magnum caliber. Featuring a sleek design and powerful performance, it's a revolver that holds a special place in firearms history. The Model 57 boasts a sturdy construction and a distinctive design, combining both power and precision. With its distinct polished finish and ergonomic grip, this six-shot revolver provides excellent accuracy and handling. The .41 Magnum caliber delivers notable stopping power, making it a compelling choice for players seeking a reliable secondary weapon in the game.

Berreta M9

The highly acclaimed Beretta M9 pistol is also making its way into the game, adding a touch of Italian craftsmanship and precision to your weaponry. Recognized for its reliability and widespread use by military and law enforcement agencies worldwide, the Beretta M9 embodies a perfect balance of accuracy, durability, and ease of use. With its 9mm caliber and impressive magazine capacity, the Beretta M9 promises a potent combination of power and accuracy, a valuable addition to any operator's arsenal in Zero Hour.

Weapon Aesthetics

Prepare to personalize your arsenal like never before with the introduction of weapon aesthetics. These aesthetics can be purchased using in-game currency, offering a range of options. Some aesthetics are available as exclusive DLC purchases, while others are offered free of charge. The aim is to maintain a realistic feel while integrating fictional weapon aesthetic brands, enhancing the premium quality of each firearm. Purchasing weapon aesthetics isn't limited to a single weapon; once collected, the skin becomes available for use across multiple weapons in your inventory. This feature allows players to customize various firearms, ensuring the firearms are aesthetically tailored to each individual's preferred aesthetics.

New Utility: Drone

To enhance strategic options, a new essential utility is being added to the attacking side: the drone. It is designed to gather valuable intel during missions. Originally, we planned two variations for the drone, including one equipped with a bomb. However, considering ethical concerns, we've decided to scrap the drone with the attached explosive. Instead, the remaining version will focus solely on surveillance capabilities, allowing uninterrupted monitoring until the battery runs out. You can also command the Squad AI while using the drone, allowing you the possibility to finish the mission without ever stepping in the operation building yourself.

Character Customization

Soon you’ll be able to personalize your operators and make them uniquely yours. Even though it's currently in development, the upcoming feature will give you the ability to customize your operator's appearance according to your preferences. This includes adjusting everything from headwear to tops and bottoms, allowing for a diverse range of clothing types and color templates.

Zero Hour 1.0 Announcement

Although we won't be introducing any new maps in this update, we're excited to bring Paradise City to the PvP mode, exclusively as a DM FFA mode. Following this, we'll focus on implementing further improvements, fixes, and the long-awaited announcement for 1.0 Release. This next significant update is set to introduce three new maps: School, Dockyard, and Bar. We plan on releasing Update Part 5 December 2023.

Zero Hour | Update Part 4.5

Zero Hour Update Part 4.5 introduces a brand new PvP game mode called "Deathmatch Free-For-All," along with visual enhancements to the game lobby and various improvements to the gameplay system. The update will also address various bugs and refine the overall gaming experience.

Main Features:

Death Match Free For All

This new PvP mode offers a unique style of play within Zero Hour's existing movement and gunplay system. It's designed to provide a more casual gaming experience, allowing players to kick back and enjoy the action after intense sessions of realistic modes. In this mode, you spawn with your preferred weapon and engage anyone within your line of sight. Classic Zero Hour features remain, such as weapon swapping when eliminating opponents, and the use of the breaker switch to control lights. However, this time, players will be prompted to equip Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) for the entire duration of the match when the lights go out.

New Lobby Screen

The lobby screen has been revamped to enhance the overall immersion of the experience. Players and their squad mates are now shown sitting inside a SWAT van, terrorist van, helicopter, or boat, depending on their team. This adds life to the lobby screen and makes waiting for players to join a less monotonous and more engaging experience. You can easily start conversations, chill with your mates, and create a more laid-back pre-game atmosphere. When the match starts, player characters exit the vehicle, signaling the beginning of the round.

In Co-op lobbies, we've strived for simplicity and coziness, without compromising on details. The inclusion of a table with files on top conveys a sense of tactical assignment, further enhancing the overall immersion. With this new lobby screen, we aim to provide players with a well-rounded and enjoyable gaming experience, from strategy planning to friendly banter.

New Deathscreen

Instead of a simple loud bass sound upon death, Zero Hour now features a more immersive death screen. After being eliminated, your character will fall while maintaining a squinted vision, and the camera will gradually rotate toward the direction you were killed from, giving you some insight into how you died.

Match Continuation

You can now finally continue playing consecutive matches with the same teams. Players can also vote on the next map they'd like to play. As we continue to fine-tune this feature, please note that there is currently no voting for game modes. However, we're actively working on implementing a voting system that will grant you the freedom to select the modes you desire, offering even more flexibility and control over your gaming sessions.

Play PvP without Denuvo

While playing PvP without an anti-cheat system has always been an option, this update will make it visible in the server browser. This ensures that everyone is able to find a game that suits their preferences.

Eye Adaption

In response to the challenges faced by newcomers to navigate the pitch-black darkness when the lights go out during a match, we've introduced an eye adaptation feature. This addition allows players to gradually regain visibility up to a certain range, providing security for those who might otherwise exit the match due to disorientation. This feature ensures that even without Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) or flashlights, players can carry on with the match and, when possible, restore the lights. This not only benefits newcomers but also those who may have overlooked equipping with NVGs and flashlights.

New Lighting for Rats Den

The lighting in Rats Den has been redone with the objective of enriching the atmosphere and aligning it more closely with our original vision. Warm, orange lighting now complements the dark spaces, creating a more eerie and unsettling environment. It's important to note that Rats Den is still awaiting the introduction of NPCs, which will further elevate the immersion.

Conclusion:

As Zero Hour continues to evolve and grow, we remain committed to refining and expanding the game to meet the expectations of both new and seasoned players. Stay tuned for further developments and enhancements as we work to provide you with the ultimate tactical gaming experience. We hope you enjoy the new game mode as much as we do. Thank you for your invaluable support and feedback, and for being part of this incredible journey.

Patch 9.6.5 Titled "Bug Squash" Pt1

[Match points & leaderboard has been reset with this update]

[Sync Load system]
Fixing numerous existing bugs proved to be challenging, primarily because many of them were reliant on both the client's network and the photon servers we utilized. Several bugs proved to be nearly impossible to rectify, as we lacked the ability to adjust the server's behavior in specific scenarios. After two years of dedicated efforts to explore alternative solutions for these issues, we developed a novel synchronized loading system. This system involves conducting a swift check of all participants' data after each round, guaranteeing a seamless start for everyone in the subsequent round and preventing any data loss due to timing issues. Moreover, this approach ensures that individuals who join ongoing matches have accurate data tracking, mitigating the risk of encountering corrupted data.

"While this does not make the game perfect and bug free, we believe its one step closer to it."

The new match end screen in PvP will sort all players based on their performance and even allow you to vote for which map you would like to play next with the existing players in lobby.

Patch 9.6.3 (Silent Patch v2)

Change Log
  • Improved Objective Viewing during Co-op mission ( Press Tab, default )
  • Slightly Increased Suspect reaction speed

Brief

The new UI replaces the old UI for a more slicker look and also to reduce confusion as to how the suspects Alive and Arrested suspects work. The UI will no longer show how many suspects are alive and instead it will be displayed as a progress bar ( Neutralizing, arresting Suspects/NPCs will display as progress bar for Bring Order to Chaos). This also adds to the experience as not knowing the exact number of suspects left adds more suspense.
This is our first patch of many in the future that will be dedicated to changing and improving the UI of the game Co-op and PvP.
