Winter has officially taken hold of Zakov, the wasteland you’ve come to recognise has now transformed into a flurry blanket of snow. ☃️

Be on the lookout during your raids for a distinctive figure in jolly bright red! He’ll be popping a visit on every map and it’s your mission to find him. Bring him his favourite drink 🥛 to get on his nice list and he may present you with a bundle of gifts!

Like last year, Santa's bundle of gifts will have a chance to contain some unique Christmas items, including exclusive armor, a weapon, Santa’s magical backpack and this time something new - a christmas grenade! 💣

Remember, these magical drops also attract some unwanted attention, not only are the other bandits and ghouls interested in these gifts but tougher bosses as well! 👀

Alongside the Holiday Event we’ve also got a few QoL updates and bug fixes!

New Features

  • Onscreen popup that displays controls can now be disabled with the Helper Dialogue option
  • Added a newsfeed on the main menu
  • Updated Gamepad Radial
    • More items added to the radial menu.
    • Items have been reordered in a more logical direction.
    • Added text display of what each item does.
    • Shows you what ammo you have equipped.

Gamepad
  • Fixed a bug where placing and removing markers using gamepad were inconsistent and difficult 
  • Fixed a bug where the teleport menu would appear when trying to switch ammo type on the d-pad
    • Teleport has now been mapped to the Left Radial Wheel
  • Fixed a text issue when using a controller and opening a trade menu with the barman, the quick move prompt would show as ‘X’ when it should be ‘A’ 
    • It is X in general inventories and A in trader inventories

General
  • Fixed a bug where during a raid, items could be consumed or weapons could be unloaded before they were revealed 
  • Added a text prompt that would indicate players when they are also in slightly overweight capacity
    • In slightly overweight capacity, the text is in yellow and reads "you are encumbered". This swaps to bright red when the player is overencumbered.

Update 1.0.7 | Patch Notes

Hello Hunters!

We’re releasing a new patch today 1.0.7 to fix a number of issues that we’ve been tracking either from our ongoing testing internally, or from community reports.

(For those interested in game dev, the reason for the build is 1.0.7 instead of 1.0.6 is because there were a couple of fixes in our 1.0.6 candidate yesterday which needed additional work –so we don’t release that one, and move on to a new build which contains that additional work.)


FIXES


• Vehicles sometimes preventing access to be able to loot quest item (key)
• Entrance to Makeshift Lab sometimes being blocked by objects
• Some endgame choices clip offscreen in specific circumstances
• Multiple chests close to each other are hard to access when using a controller
• First Blood achievement not unlocking when killing certain wildlife
• Legacy placeholder image for raid selection screen updated to remove unused boxes
• Lighting in the Lab can abruptly change from dark to bright
• Several instances of spelling errors
• Permadeath tooltip text clipping
• Rad Pill buff displaying wrong colour
• Scrapping a stack of generic items only yields a single scrap material
• Scrapping items increases carry capacity
• Tooltip not updating to new correct magazine size after crafting
• Gear Lover skill does not affect weapons
• Industrial area quest locations sometimes inaccessible
• Added “Are you sure?” prompt when uninstalling a module
• Infirmary module not healing at the expected rate (it was using real-life minutes instead of in-game minutes)
• Some walls within Zakov City are missing collisions
• The Bandit Camp is occasionally inaccessible
• Selling Vlasov’s dogtag will prevent the quest from being completed
• Hovering over an item before it is revealed will show its identity in the tooltip
• Sometimes enemies can wander outside of the map boundaries on Makeshift Camp map
• Unable to remap inputs to the ‘R’ key on keyboard
• Joining a faction does not impact reputation or quest availability with a rival faction
• Difficult to see the Ghoul tunnel in The Machinery quest
• Default attachments for some weapons are incompatible once removed
• Transition from dry to rain storm can sometimes happen too suddenly
• Several instances of text missing localisations (some, but not all)
• Radio Tower in Makeshift Camp is sometimes inaccessible
• Weapon repair kits at 0-60 are not inclusive of 60%
• Player is (very rarely) randomly transported to a blank, blue map (we are creating a temporary workaround for this while we continue to investigate the root cause)
• Big Boned skill incorrectly applying weight reduction to additional armor sets


BALANCE CHANGES


• NPCs now drop scrap weapons, armor and ammunition
• Emissions will happen later in a raid (after the 20+ minutes mark)
• Heavy acid rain will only happen after an emission (it cannot be present during normal gameplay)
• Big's tooth value and spawn chance increased
• When accepting the quest "Psy Helmet p1" both oil factory keys are given to the player
• Endurance Booster Injector has been buffed
• The sale value of Roubles is always 1
• Endgame areas now have more supply chests (to provide better sustainability against the higher amount of enemies)
• Arman and Orel no longer shoot AP rounds and have slightly more loot
• The Mall Guns store locked room has had its loot updated

ERROR WORKAROUND


Meanwhile we also have a workaround for anybody getting “TexturesM.cpp” or “VertexBuilderM.cpp” errors when playing the game. If you experience this issue, please manually select “High Performance” in Windows as follows:

Open Windows Settings -> Select Graphics Settings -> Select Graphics Performance Preference
Find ZERO Sievert in the list -> Select Options -> Select High Performance

Please note that if it is not in the list by default, select Browse, and locate the game’s .exe file (the standard location for this is Program Files x86/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ZERO Sievert/)

ONGOING


Finally, just a note that we’re still working on the following reported issues:

• Delete Cloud Saves option also deletes local saves
• Turn-in prompt text sometimes not appearing after the first raid
• Switching ammo type on gamepad when in the bunker will display teleport menu
• Placement and removal of markers when using controller is inconsistent
• NPC Drop Armor menu setting issue
• Mouse drift in windowed more or when using a second screen
• Mr Junk sometimes has no items to trade
• Immediately looting modules sometimes means they will be empty

Update 1.0.4 | Patch Notes

Hey Hunters,

We just rolled out a new patch, 1.0.4, that tackles several bugs reported by our community. We're aware some known issues still need addressing - please bear with us. More updates are on their way so stay tuned, and happy hunting



  • Four NU armour rewards removed from Mr. Junk quest, now only give 1 armour as reward
  • ‘All friends’ faction reputation fixed
  • Field Medic heals for the full value while the skill is active
  • Quest item can now be sold when the quest is completed
  • Infirmary level 2 bonus value fix
  • Daily quest/quest item being lost in Hardcore mode fixed
  • Explorer perk now guarantees 3 extraction points everytime
  • Fixed enemy spawning in the starter area of Zakov
  • Fixed laboratory being visible from other indoor areas



  • Armour balance changes
    • Durability damage to armors when bullets penetrate reduced by 70%
    • Durability damage to armors when bullets don't penetrate reduced by 25%
    • Durability damage to armors from melee attacks reduced by 60%
    • Repair material cost slightly reduced for armor

Hotfix 1.0.2

Hello Hunters!

We have applied a hotfix today to fix the following issues:

  • Enemies dropping weapons without attachments
  • Steam achievements not unlocking
  • Jogger hunter skill does not work

We really appreciate you taking the time to report bugs to us, and we will continue to gather feedback over the weekend and into next week as we assess plans for a future patch.

As a reminder, once we are confident that the 1.0 release is in a good place, we will switch attention to post-1.0 updates, including Steam Workshop support (among other things). We’ll have more news to share on that in the coming weeks.

ZERO Sievert 1.0 OUT NOW!

It’s finally time to board the train to Zakov City because ZERO Sievert version 1.0 is now available on PC Steam as we officially leave Early Access! 1.0 also brings a plethora of new additions including a brand new city map, deadly new weapons, hunter skills to level up, and much more!

ZERO Sievert is a tense, top-down, post-apocalyptic survival shooter that challenges players to scavenge, fight, and survive in a dangerous, procedurally generated wasteland.

You must head out on excursions into the wild to scavenge supplies, take out enemies and get safely back to the bunker - and be warned; the nuclear fallout may have impacted some of the local wildlife…. Multiple questlines will guide you through the world of ZERO Sievert. As you journey through, you’ll slowly unravel information and lore about the devastated world that’s been left behind. There are more than 100 different items to loot which can be used to craft new items, upgrade your own base, and trade.

Gameplay


Weapon improvements
  • Weapons now only spawn in loot boxes with their compatible attachments 
  • Shooting accuracy balanced for gamepad and keyboard & mouse 
  • Repeatedly shooting an empty gun no longer interrupts reloading 
  • Weapon scope now resets when switching weapons 
  • The weapon "Marauder 700 Modern" now has a compatible grip by default
  • Laser attachments and torches now follow the weapon direction better and start at the correct location 
  • Min/Max weapon durability now displays correctly without decimal points 
  • Accuracy stat value issue fixed when modding a weapon
  • Weapon tooltip now displays gun types to make it clearer what type you're levelling up

Improved spawn points
  • NPCs in “The War” quest, and Mr. Junk spawn areas improved to ensure they only spawn in reachable areas 
  • Multiple quest locations blocked by environmental objects now fixed
  • NPCs can no longer spawn near the Purple Crystal on the Swamp map 
  • Gas/fire anomalies spawn locations improved 
  • Loot boxes no longer spawn in unreachable places on the Industrial area map 
  • Forest map houses can no longer be blocked from entering by water 
  • Instances of contract quest objectives spawning outside of the map have been fixed

NPC behaviour
  • Crows no longer get stuck in a loop! 
  • Wolves remaining idle when attacking now fixed 
  • Killed NPCs no longer drop full durability armour 
  • Run animation fixed when Big kills an NPC 
  • Big’s aggro area increased 
  • NPCs shooting to the right after killing an enemy NPC corrected, they now return to patrolling instead

Inventory improvements
  • Ability to now sort stacked items by Category, Quantity of a stack, Price of a stack, Weight
  • Rotated weapons will now revert to their default orientation when equipped in primary slots in the inventory 
  • Rotated items will now revert to their default orientation when equipped in quick slots in the inventory 
  • Surplus item stacks auto placement improved, they will now appear next to other stacks and rotate to their default orientation
  • Scrap stack no longer exceeds the maximum limit when scrapping Cyclops suit 
  • Instances of inventory items disappearing when quick moved have been fixed 
  • Consumable items are restored back to their original place in the inventory if the action to consume is cancelled 
  • "You don't have enough space" incorrectly showing in trading screen. Items now automatically rotate when there is enough inventory space 
  • Land mines can no longer be placed in quick slots and quick slot no longer highlights when land mines are selected 
  • Incorrect highlighting fixed for disassembled weapons 
  • Weight now updates correctly when using a repair kit on armour or weapons 
  • You can now navigate over unsearched items, and includes mouse support

Graphical fixes

  • Teleporting around the base loads assets in faster
  • Removed floating black line that sometimes appeared when looting weapons from bandits
  • Graphic flicker fixed in weapon mod screen
  • Shadow graphic now fades correctly when the train departs
  • Mod weapons screen glitch fixed

Other Fixes
  • Map centralising on player in the PDA
  • Armour durability now decreases after taking explosive damage
  • Using Weapon inspection when no weapon is equipped no longer triggers any SFX 
  • Fixed ‘overencumbered’ message appearing incorrectly when reloading save
  • Duplicated objectives fixed in Green Army’s daily quest
  • Quest cutscenes now only play once before the objective is completed
  • When in the Teleport menu, pressing Esc key now closes the Teleport menu instead of showing Pause menu
  • Yes button now functions correctly when scrapping armour
  • Scrapping a stack of medicine now displays the correct amount scrapped

UI

Post 1.0


With the release of 1.0 our primary focus in the coming days and weeks will be keeping a close eye on any bug reports and gameplay feedback we receive from the community, and we will be ready to work on hotfixes or patches accordingly.

After this, we will be turning our attention to additional updates to the game, starting with Steam Workshop support - though please be aware, we don’t have a timeline for this yet. More details on this will be shared in the next couple of months.

Important Information about 1.0

Greetings Hunters,

There is less than one week left till the release of update 1.0 and we have some important news to share about the game.

Price Increase After Early Access


With the official 1.0 release, we wanted to give you advance warning that ZERO Sievert's price will be increasing (as noted in our Early Access FAQs on the Steam store page) from $19.99 and equivalents to $24.99 and equivalents. It’s quite common for games to have a lower price during Early Access to recognise that players who support a game earlier in development often have to put up with more than their fair share of bugs and other issues, as well as less actual content…and for those of you who did, we thank you!

However, we’re letting you know now so that anybody who has been watching for a while but so far didn’t buy the game, could do so before the price increases - and to help further we’re currently offering a 10% discount on ZERO Sievert that will be in place up until the 1.0 launch! ‘Save Wipe’ Notice


To ensure a smooth and balanced experience with all the new content in version 1.0, we’ll also be performing a save wipe. We will be creating a legacy branch on Steam that will allow you to keep playing your previous saves (more details on how to access this will come around the 1.0 release) - however, we do encourage you to load up a fresh save to experience the new systems, features, and bug fixes implemented in 1.0.

Developer Update 2024 Vol.7

The release of update 1.0 is just around the corner and we're bringing a wave of exciting new content and enhancements to ZERO Sievert. Prepare to dive back into the chaos with a brand-new city map, face off against a formidable new boss, unlock deadly new weapons, level up your hunter skills, and much more!

🏙️CITY MAP



Chaos continues in the brand new City Map that takes you further into the urban ruins of ZERO Sievert’s post-apocalyptic world. Be on the lookout for hidden dangers and discover valuable loot amongst the rubble and finally uncover the origins of Zakov.

This map is sure to provide plenty of opportunities to test your survival skills against threats and even a new terrifying opponent that lurks in the shadowy alleys and abandoned buildings. The struggle will be intense, but the reward may prove to be worth every bullet fired. 👀

We can’t wait till you get the chance to explore this sprawling urban battlefield, but till then check out the City Map Teaser trailer below!



🎯HUNTER SKILLS & NEW WEAPONS



We're also introducing Hunter Skills to update 1.0! This is a completely new progression system that lets you develop your hunter’s abilities as you level up! These skills will be extremely useful in enhancing chances of survival and allowing you to navigate the toxic wasteland in your playstyle.

Here’s a little preview of a few of the ones we’ve added out of 22 Hunter Skills that will be arriving in update 1.0.

Mule
Increase max weight by 5kg and allows you to move at a slow walking speed, even when incredibly over-encumbered.

Loot Goblin
Increase looting speed by 50%

Immortal
Once per raid, when something should have killed you, you are healed by 50hp

Field Medic
Decreases the amount of time required to use meds by 50%

Grenade expert
Increase all grenades radius by 30%

On top of that, we've added 8 new weapons to your arsenal. Experiment with these deadly tools, each designed to help you dominate in the harsh landscapes of ZERO Sievert.

One for the completionists, we’re bringing Steam Achievements! Track your progress and unlock achievements as you conquer Zakov.



⚙️QOL UPDATES



As always we’ve been hard at work getting through a huge polishing project for ZERO Sievert, from the UI improvements, gameplay enhancements to minor bugs and major performance refinements to ensure your time spent in Zakov is seamless and immersive. So far, we’ve squashed over 150 bugs for this release and aim to continuously refine the build for launch!

Due to the sheer amount of quality of life updates that we have implemented for 1.0, we can’t list them all at the moment, but here's a highlight of some of the ones we know have been niggling the community.


  • Weapons can now only spawn in loot boxes with compatible attachments
  • Weapon tooltip now displays gun types
  • Lootboxes no longer spawn in unreachable places on the Industrial area map
  • Forest map houses can no longer be blocked from entering by water
  • Crows no longer get stuck in a loop!
  • Map now centralises on player in the PDA

Hello Hunters!

We’re thrilled to announce that Steam Achievements are officially landing in ZERO Sievert at 1.0 Launch! 🏆✨ From October 23rd you'll be able to unlock a variety of achievements that celebrate your progress, skills, and epic moments during your adventures through Zakov.

Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, there will be achievements for everyone and even chances for you to discover some hidden secrets too.
