Hi Adorers,

We received some feedbacks that Expeditions are breaking the flow of the game, especially from depth 1 to 5.

For example.: I was watching a player that plays well having problems to progress through depth 4, and he said: "My creatures are ok with synergies, But I need to upgrade their traits".
So he spent some money and fragments to start an expedition to upgrade his creatures.
Expeditions by default are harder than normal maps and they are serving as gate to the progress of the creatures.
Makes no sense that the player needs to do a harder content to try to upgrade their creatures(spending money and fragment) and then, if he has success in expedition and don't lose all of his money, go back to try to beat the easier content.

So, we decided to put Draknar Statues in normal maps too.

We know that expeditions are going to lose their value right now, but we have plans to move them to the endgame with more purpose.

Adjustments & Bug Fixes



- Added Draknar Statues to normal maps.
- Fixed: The bosses would take too long to do a move after getting freezed.
- Fixed: New artifacts effects remaining active in some situations.
- Fixed: Translation error in the Expeditions quest.
- Fixed: Player could get stuck in the expeditions screen by activating the expeditions window without having any expedition.
- Fixed: Wrong translation in C039 special attack text.
- Fixed: Clawoo normal attack was scaling with the Increase Special Area Attack synergy.
- Fixed: Dish of the Day option was not working after cooking on Cook Your Ingredients option.

- Fixed: A situation where the quest creature would not appear in any objective during the Draknar's Species quest.

- Fixed: A situation where the player would get stuck in the portal of the village.

Update 11 - Sandstorm



Hi, adorers!
As we said in the devlogs, this is our last Major Update before 1.0 release. And we are so happy to be here with all of you.
The community helped so much to turn Adore into this game that we love so much! Thank you.

We'll still be supporting the game with smaller updates & bug fixes until the 1.0 release, don't worry!

We believe that Adore is much more fun when you play using multiple creatures in strategic ways instead of just spamming one creature.
Today, we want to talk a bit more about some changes that made the game much more engaging:

Number of enemies per area


To begin creating more engaging encounters, we reduced the number of creatures in each area and increased their level. This alone made a huge difference in the gameplay.

New Damage & Armor Type


Now, every attack of all creatures can have one of two types of damage: Physical or Magical.
The armors also are divided into Physical and Magical armor:

Basically, if you attack a physical armor with physical damage, it will work as before. The damage will be dealt to the armor until it reaches zero and breaks.

But here is where things get interesting, you can break the armor instantly:

  • As you progress through the game, you'll also see much more creatures with armor!
  • Every creature can spawn with armor now.
  • Each specie has its own predetermined type of armor and damage.


Speed of the Recall's Orb


Previously, the recall’s orb was too fast and the adorer was able to spam creatures. You could almost recall and summon it instantly.

The recall mechanic was a must in almost every situation. Don't get us wrong, we love this mechanic! But now you have more choices.
You can still recall it, and while the orb is returning, It can be more efficient to use other creatures. Or instead of recalling it, you also have a more viable option of waiting for the creature to finish all its animations and returning by touch to you without locking your stamina(with the recall).

Charging the creature's Special Ability


In the last patch, you could just use one creature and it would charge all its Special Ability by itself. This, combined with the old recall's orb high speed, allowed and even incentivized the player to use just one creature.

We are changing it. Now, the creature that deals the damage will not charge its own special ability. But it will charge the special ability of all other creatures.


That's it! We had so much more fun with these changes. The moment-to-moment combat is much more engaging now. You really need to know when is the right moment to use each creature that you bring with you. Hope you also enjoy it!

We still plan to implement a more robust system to unlock new creatures' slots in the village. But we want to connect it with the endgame(which is one of the 1.0 features)
- Now the tutorial panel can only be deactivated by the "X" window on top of it while using the mouse and keyboard instead of deactivating when pressing C or ESCAPE keys.
- Now creature chests have a small percentage of containing a blessed creature and an even smaller chance for a super blessed creature.
- Now the event to capture points will only spawn creatures if the player is close to the point that is being captured.
- Reworked: chest UI.
- Changed Maena option name to Create Synergies.
- Added shield gain to the human bosses AI.
- Added a new Quest Dialogue Translation System.
- Adjustments to the music system and now music doesn't restart each time the player clears an area.
- Death retrieval element description changed.
- Swapped the Adorer's panel hint with the Special Attack hint in the tutorial.
- Reworked the shader of cursed enemy creatures.
- Decreased number of cursed chains to purify in the Cursed Chains quest.
- Changed "Blessed" trait name to "Lucky".
- Decreased initial shopkeeper items price.
- Now the artifacts drop faster during the game.
- Adjustments to the Creatures' Status UI.
- Removed artifact: Enhancement Chalice.
- Added key to Baldin's shop.
- Added tutorial tab to map teleport.
- Added map teleport description to the minimap.
- Added description about teleporting to map elements in the minimap.
- Changed the description text of the Zella Healing Orb ability.
- Reworked the Quests of Act 1 for a better new player experience.
- System to auto-save backup files.


Balance



- Removed expeditions with 4 maps.
- Now, each map of expeditions only has one objective.
- Upon finishing the objective, the portal will open. You no longer need to clear all areas. This works for normal maps and expeditions.
- Reduced the number of creatures per area.
- Increased the level of enemy creatures.
- Decreased recall's orb speed and added a minimum delay to return to the player.
- Now the creature's special energy does not increase with its own attacks.
- Now the Galghan's bell item will only activate the recall's energy touch damage if the creature recalled dealt any damage.
- Increased Meecra's amount of energy to activate its special from 100 to 200.
- Removed Stun and reduced the area from the second attack on PunchRock
(Krongur)
- Removed health bonus from Artifact of the Adorers in all qualities.
- Removed stamina regen and recall's orb speed from Calling Armlet in all qualities.

Bug Fixes



- Fixed: The color of Super Blessed creatures was showing darker than normal in the Bestiary.
- Fixed: Momba SFXs were playing in 2D space, not 3D.
- Fixed: Open minimap hint remaining active after entering a new area or entering the portal.
- Fixed: The minimap would activate with the line pointing to a blank space.
- Fixed: Wrong description in the tutorial of the creature's special attack.
- Fixed: Synergy tutorial text with the wrong name of Meecra's ability.
- Fixed: Smaller dodge duration after exiting the portal.
- Fixed: Creatures transformed into sheep by Melkran would not walk in some situations.
- Fixed: Icy attacks would hit targets in its back.
- Fixed: Abbu changing target at the end of the attack animation.
- Fixed: Wrong armor position in the creature health bar.
- Fixed: Healing SFXs activating in the score screen.

New Creatures



Kita [Nature]

Kita is a gracious cactus creature with high mobility. It uses its thorns to deal damage in combat.


Special attack: Kita throws thorns in a cone dealing damage to all targets in the area.


Her abilities can look simple at first glance, but her synergies can change the tide of the battle or give her healing power. So, train her very well!


Shaz [Dragon] - Legendary


Shaz is a huge legendary dragon from the desert.
He combines fire, wind and sand to turn your day into hell. Good luck!

Adore Update 11 - Devlog 3

Hi, Adorers!
We are so happy that we can finally share with you three of the new creatures from the Major Update 11. Oh, just to let you know, tomorrow we'll share two more, stay tuned!

As always, our goal is to bring something new with new every creature, making each one of them very unique, not just a reskin of old creatures.

New Creatures



Clawoo [Arcane]


"Come over here" and meet Clawoo. An Arcane creature that summons a claw that pulls enemies toward him to slice them up.


Special ability: Clawoo brings a new and exciting mechanic to the table. While on its special, it stays on top of the adorer, attacking any enemy that comes close. You can freely summon other creatures, dodge, and move as the adorer.


In the case of the enemy, Clawoo seeks a nearby creature to stick to. If you cause stagger to the main creature, Clawoo will detach from it.


Bakiz [Beast]


Do you have problems with Krooths and Meecras chasing you? No problem, let's introduce them to your new friend: Bakiz.


Bakiz has a defensive instinct. He is the first creature to have a "parry" ability. If you manage to use him with perfect timing, he'll parry the attack, dealing damage and staggering all creatures around him.
He also has a very unique set of basic attacks, always moving sideways while attacking.

Special ability: After parrying any attack, he creates a small sandstorm. Every enemy inside the sandstorm will miss its attack.



Kroto [Dragon]


Kroto, the 'little' clumsy dragon. He dashes forward hitting the targets and knocking back them with its tail. To finalize, he throws a high damage fireball.


Special ability: Kroto bounces his tail on the ground, creating rock formations that hit the target and throw them in random directions! Almost plays with his enemies.

Adore Update 11 - Devlog 2

Hi, adorers!
Today we are going to talk more about what is coming next week with the Major Update 11.

Gems


In the first devlog we've mentioned the dungeon rewards, and these rewards are Gems!
The Gems are used to power up your artifacts.
They will provide different effects on the adorer, giving you even more options to customize your builds.



Here are the effects of the gems:

  • Evasion
  • Increase Staff ability charge rate
  • Frenzy Summon: there is a chance to summon a creature in frenzy. A creature that is in frenzy, will deal more damage and have more attack speed.
  • Lucky Summon: there is a chance to summon a creature without spending stamina.
  • Increase Health Points
  • Increase Stamina Regeneration
  • Increase Movement Speed
  • Increase Recall Orb speed.

- You can only have one type of gem on each artifact.
- You can remove gems from artifacts, but you'll lose the gem.
- To attach a gem, your artifact needs one quality level for each gem. For example, an artifact with quality level 3 can have up to 3 gems!




Inventory rework



Artifacts were very powerful before and with the new gem system they are broken!
So we are introducing an artifact quality level cap to your inventory.
This will not only help to balance the artifacts, similar to how Rune System works, but will open path to more complex and in-depth builds!

Now, you will have 12 points that will be available to be distributed along the six slots of artifacts.
These points will determine the quality of the artifact that can be equipped in that slot, without losing any effect.



For example, to equip a quality 2 artifact with full power, you'll need a quality 2 inventory slot.

- These points are totally interchangeable. You can freely decrease and increase them to adapt your inventory.
- You naturally unlock more points by unlocking new artifacts' slots.
- You can equip a high-quality artifact on a low-quality slot. But the effect of the artifact will be capped to the quality of the slot.


Search/Filter on World Map




The more the game grows, the more map rewards and elements are introduced.
With this, it gets difficult to find exactly what you need.
So, we've created a filter where it is possible to search for what you need, among what is available in the world.

Adore Update 11 - Devlog 1

Hi, Adorers!

It’s with excitement that we want to share with you the first devlog of Major Update 11, which we’ve been working on for the last few months. We are really proud to announce that this is probably the last Major Update before the 1.0 release.

Without you this wouldn’t be possible, thank you very much for all the support and feedback.

Here are the main changes and content:

New map - Penury Desert




The brand new map is all about the desert theme! Of course, with it will come new creatures from this theme, artifacts, and features, but that's for another devlog in the coming days.




For the first time, we are introducing map hazards. And for the desert, we have cactus that explode.
So be cautious to not roll near them, it can be dangerous! But you can also make smart plays using them to your advantage.



New Boss - Raad, Guardian of the Desert



With new features come new challenges, and we are happy to introduce to you adorers, Raad, Guardian of the Desert. You'll get to know him better with the new Questline explaining more about him.

Dungeon!



The Penury Desert has its own Dungeon! Inside this new brand feature, you’ll find a new challenge and unique reward.

To have access to this dungeon you will need to find its entrance and use a key.



At the end of each Penury Desert's Dungeon, you'll find a gem, used to enhance your artifacts.
