AirportSim

AirportSim Roadmap has landed!

It's Thursday, so you might be expecting patch notes... but no, today we have something different for you! But rest assured, it's just as significant as the highly awaited weekly Patch Notes. Today, you will gain insight into our plans for the next few months, including the kinds of additions you can expect from us. Now, you might already have an inkling about what we're referring to. That’s right, you guessed it – it's time for the AirportSim Roadmap!

Our arrivals board highlights all the plans we have for AirportSim in the coming months. It's arranged from top to bottom, so you can expect to see the milestones landing in that order.

As the holidays are approaching, the first thing you can look for is in-game visuals, and right after that... a free Airport DLC is on its way. What do you think? What airport is it going to be?

One of the most awaited and frequently requested milestones, the Xbox Release, is scheduled for Q1 2024. We are aware that many people have been asking about this. Rest assured, it's definitely on its way, and we will count down to the exact date together!

Additionally, we will celebrate special events from all over the world in-game together.

We also study your feedback and suggestions every day, and next Thursday's Patch Notes - 11/30/2023 will bring a kind of big and awaited improvement.

In December, you can expect Patch Notes: on 12/14/2023, with Live streams planned for 12/06/2023 and 12/2/2023.

So... New airports, vehicles, aircraft, and the Xbox release are on the way. We hope you're as excited as we are. We know everyone is eager to learn all the details about the upcoming milestones. But if we were to reveal everything right now, it wouldn’t be fun anymore. And don’t worry - we will discuss and enjoy the upcoming DLCs together as we get closer to their release dates!

The Steam Awards!

Hello Ground Handlers,

The release has been incredible, and we’re immensely thankful for the positive response to AirportSim. It’s been super motivating and encouraging to see a ton of feedback coming in - not only from people tackling the various tasks on the tarmac alone, but also from players coming together in our co-op mode. Airport life can be stressful, and having your friends there with you can be a saving grace. Which leads us to our next point...

The annual Steam Awards are open for nominations and, as players, you can nominate some of your favourite games for one of the prized trophies! We’ve shared some of the most fun moments in AirportSim while playing together and, if you agree, we suggest voting for us in the ‘Better with Friends’ category. You can help spread the word about our game and introduce new people to AirportSim.

Haven’t been able to pick AirportSim up just yet? This might be your window! During the Autumn Sale the game will be discounted by 20%.

See you on the tarmac!

A New Bus & Multiplayer Improvements

Hello Ground Crew,

Welcome our newest addition; the AMT Vivair Bus!

With patch 1.1.0, a new Bus model will be introduced to the game, allowing you to transport passengers from the moment the update is released. This vehicle will be featured as new free content in the game.

The AMT Vivair is based on the latest models of buses currently operating at airports. It combines comfort with high performance and reliability. This bus can accommodate up to a hundred people, equipped with a 176 kW engine, ensuring efficient operation on the airport apron under various conditions, even with a large number of passengers on board.

Starting today, while playing AirportSim, you can utilize two models of buses. We hope that the newly added AMT Vivair will perform well, enabling you to efficiently transport thousands of passengers without delays.

We’ve also heard your feedback on several multiplayer features. You now have more control over your lobbies! We’ve added a kick player feature, and you can set passwords.

Of course that is not all we’ve done for patch 1.1.0, as there are multiple bug fixes, some features and new visuals, however for those we would love to refer you to our patch notes here.

We hope you love the changes! Ready to hop on the AMT? See you on the tarmac!

Boundless Creativity and More Patches!

Hello Ground Handlers,

These past few days, we’ve been looking at all of your beautiful custom liveries and we’re more than impressed with your creativity!

From faithful recreations of your favourite local airlines, to your own, original designs - the AirportSim Steam Workshop is a sprawling hub of creativity, and we love browsing through it! Which is why our next set of patches aims to make the use of custom assets even more enjoyable.

We’ve significantly reduced loading times while using custom liveries by changing the file format of the liveries themselves. The game might load a little bit longer right after you install a new livery, but will run smoothly after that. If you’re a skin creator, we’ve implemented a new refresh button in the livery menu, that’ll allow you to instantly update your creations by rebuilding the file to reflect your changes.

We’ve also fixed a bunch of bugs and made small quality of life adjustments. As always, you can find the complete set of patches and fixes in our Patch Notes: HERE.

Once again, we want to thank you for your incredible dedication to hunting bugs and pointing them out to us on Discord. Your participation is the key to consistently enhancing AirportSim, and we’re incredibly thankful for your help.

Additionally, starting next week and continuing throughout November, Patch Notes will be published every Thursday, so keep your eyes peeled. Soon, we’ll be releasing a road map that will line out the upcoming changes and additions that you can expect.

And finally: don’t forget to catch our livestream on Twitch, tomorrow at 8PM CET / 2PM EDT / 11AM PT.

See you on the tarmac, Ground Handlers!

AirportSim Patch Notes: Build 1.0.9 (5f4ce3741)

Happy Patch Notes Day! We've been working day and night to enhance your AirportSim gameplay experience. As scheduled, we have another update for you today! Let's see what we've fixed, optimised and improved since Tuesday!

Optimisation:

We reduced the amount of RAM storage used by liveries. Now, the game exports liveries in a different format at the launch of the game. The first launch might take a bit longer, but subsequent loads will be faster.

These changes will improve the game's loading time when using custom skins.

If you, as a creator, make any changes to a skin, you'll find a refresh button in the livery manager. This will rebuild the skin file to reflect your changes.

  • Added plane skin texture compression for faster loading times.
  • Added a refresh button in the livery menu (to refresh skin textures if they've been changed).

Fixes:

  • Fixed: UI couldn't be disabled while inside vehicles.
  • Fixed: Flickering on the credits page during loading.
  • Fixed: Delay in displaying the credits.
  • Fixed: (Multiplayer) Clients unable to properly throw pickup objects.
  • Adjusted: Wheel friction of the "Follow Me" vehicle.
  • Adjusted: Wind noise levels.
  • Fixed: Weather at Keflavik being too windy.
  • Fixed: Duplicate scenarios.
  • Fixed: Refuelling zone remains visible even after confirming the task as finished.

In other significant news, starting next week and throughout November, Patch Notes will be released once a week on Thursdays. We are working on the road map for you to show what’s in store for the next months!

Don't forget to join our live stream on Twitch tomorrow at 8 PM CET!
