Bakery Simulator - Devlog #67 “Starting the day!”

Hello Bakers!

Another day comes and so your duties needs to be fulfilled!

Everything has its beginning - even a single day has to start somewhere and as such here's some of the usual workings of your Bakery in the morning. Of course - first you have to know what you need to do in the given day. To do that you will need to check the folder with the orders of your customers. The folder is conveniently placed on display so you will not forget about it!

Looking into the folder you'll be able to see the details of your next order. Some information you'll get include things like the name of the company requesting your services, product that you need to prepare for them and the rewards you'll receive after fulfilling the order. In future you'll most likely be receiving more than a single order - make sure to make the wise decisions unless you want to be overburdened with tasks!

Of course you'll also be able to consult the details of the recipe for the item requested. So if you're preparing buns for breakfast you can check the steps you'll need to take in order to bake it. Also, you'll be able to click on the "track order" button which will come in handy as the steps will be visible to you outside the recipe book.

And there's that! Now you have to do the actual baking which is the main point of having Bakery, isn't that right? Make sure to be punctual and that your creations are in the top-notch conditions!

Have a great weekend everyone and see you next time!

Best regards,

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #66 “Finances, finances...”

Hello Bakers!

If you wanna stay afloat you gotta pay attention to your finances!

For many of you having your own bakery is a dream waiting to come true. We don't deny it and we can definitely see a charm in having a very own place to realize your dreams - such a sweet dreams at the same time. However owning any kind of business is always related with one little thing that is impossible to forget - keeping track of your finances. Just look at the ingredients rack. They are not going to magically appear out of thin air...

Earning enough to let you keep on working and perhaps even grow is something that you need to constantly keep a track of. Fortunately the game will have a economic side to it and will let you check the state of your finances and how your actions influenced "the books". You'll be able to check what you bought, what you sold, how much did you earn and if you have taken any loans. And yes - you will be able to take loans and you will have to pay them due time.

In the last devlog we've talked about how you'll be able to customize your bakery - however this will also not be an effect of a magical spell but an investment or a fancy purchase on your part! Even something as mundane as a new trash bin will cost precious money and you need to be sure that you can afford it!

Some investments will be necessary. If you gain more customers you simply will have to spend in order to gain more in future. It's a simple math, really, but still something to track. Do your best - we know you can do it!

We appreciate you checking in this week and see you in the next one!

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #65 “Let’s customize a bit!”

Hello Bakers!

Sometimes a little bit of change can improve your everyday operations immensely!

Let’s take a look at our Bakery – our own good little Bakery. It’s here where the magic happens and it’s here where we work every day to make sure that all orders are finalized and prepared on time. We know this place pretty well – spending a lot of time in the same 4 walls tends to make you familiarize yourself with the surrounding whether you like that or not. And sometimes… sometimes you simply get bored with the “sameness” of your workplace. That is where our customization mode comes in!

Customization mode is something that we’ve been working quite a lot on! The feature will let you change some of the aspects of your Bakery – we’ve already teased that before but now we can show you even more. While sometimes the changes will be grand and will alter your gameplay some of the other changes can be a little bit smaller and focus more on the cosmetic side of things. Like for example changing the floors – just compare two screenshots above to see the effects of doing so!

There will be many elements that you will be able to customize. Above you can see that we have even thought about the possibility to buy a different trash can to better fit your own vision for your place. We want you to feel at home in your own Bakery and that’s why we’ll be giving you the tools to make that happen. Just remember that you will require some pocket money in order to redecorate or upgrade some of your facilities!

However – in the end it’s all worth it! Changing some things can immediately revitalize you and make you work better, faster and stronger! Simply changing the floors made us feel a lot of vigour entering our bones and we hope the same will go for you!

Thank you for checking in with us this time! Take care and see you very soon!

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #64 “Delivery right on time…?”

Hello Bakers!

This time let’s talk a little bit about deliveries and making sure they’re on time!

While the weather might not be the best today for road trips – would a simple lightning storm be enough to stop you? Definitely not! No matter the weather, save perhaps for some really rare occurances, the show must go on and the deliveries should be made. Of course – as a player you will have a chance to hire someone to do that for you but if you like the deliveries and prefer to do them by yourself – a simple storm cannot stop you! Let’s check what options you will have at your disposal during deliveries.

First of all – while you always want to be fast, precise and accurate – sometimes life will have other plans for you. If you feel like you cannot do a certain delivery in time you might want to call the customer and inform them about the delay. Your customers might accept you being late once but even that kind of patience has its limits. You might be able to get some extra time for your delivery but make sure you can manage and don’t fail your customers’ expectations again!

You will always be able to check the minimap on screen but sometimes you might want to check the bigger picture. You can select map from your radial menu and check it peacefully to know which street to take in order to reach the goal in the shortest possible time. Careful planning might bring you so much faster to your destination!

Additionally – if you wish so – you might call for a special tow service to reset your position on the map! It can be useful if you are in a completely wrong spot or cannot find your way around the place. Or perhaps… after an accident?

Thank you for tuning in this week! Have a great weekend!

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #63 “Oops! – What to do when you make a mistake?”

Hello Bakers!

Weeks ago we’ve talked about the possible accidents that might happen in the kitchen – this time we’ll talk about the possible mistakes and the simple way of dealing with them!

Look at the screenshot above – can you see a problem? On the right upper side of the screen we can see a detailed information leading you step by step on how to prepare a Rye Bread – a specific product ordered by one of our partners. However, shamefully, we’ve made a mistake when mixing ingredients – red squares next to some of them mean that we’ve added to much of them to the mix and we will be unable to proceed smoothly as the final product will not turn out too good. It would be a bad thing to go through with next steps of the work… so what should we do now?

Another example of failed work is above. While we might be able to fix some of the errors of our ways during the process – for example if we added not enough sugar while mixing ingredients we simply need to add more (the order of adding the ingredients does not matter here) on the screenshot above we see an example of work that we will be unable to salvage. Burned in a way that resembles a charcoal bread will not be eaten by anyone so we might as well get rid of it altogether… And that bring us to the solution for the problem – perhaps you have already spotted it on the screenshot?

The good, old, ever-useful trashcan will help us in that kind of situations. We simply need to grab the failed effects of our work and throw it to the can – ensuring that we will not send it to our client by mistake or mistake it for anything else. If you’re sure that whatever you were working on cannot be used anymore – make sure to use the trashcan!

We believe in you and we know you won’t make too many mistakes but in case you do – trashcan is here to help!

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #62 “Enhanced ways of handling ingredients”

Hello Bakers!

Last time we were talking about getting bigger – bigger hall, bigger equipment and bigger tools. Continuing this trend we’ll talk about different ways of handling ingredients when getting big!

We have showcased some of the machines that you’ll be able to get for your bakery in the previous devlogs but we’ve never talked about the natural feeling of progression you’ll be able to attain while playing the game. An incremental game is a game within which you start with a certain number of features/tools and steadily increase or enhance them – and we here at Bakery Simulator want to give you a similar vibe when playing the game. As you can see on the screenshot above – you’ll start with a simple rack for your ingredients and quite limited maximum amount of those. But as you develop your bakery things will start to change…

Above and below you’ll be able to see two different machines that you will be able to use for storing but also dispensing a particular amount of certain ingredients that you need. You need to notice two things – first, you’ll be able to select what kind of ingredient you want by pressing on certain buttons that will allow you to cycle through owned ingredients. Second of all the storage place for those machines is quite bigger than what you used to have in a form of a simple rack – meaning you’ll be able to conveniently have more of ingredients at your disposal.

Hopefully – thanks to technological progress – you’ll be able to manage your bakery with ease!

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #61 “Getting bigger!”

Hello Bakers!

When you’re successful and get thousands of orders at the same time some things tend to change… and get bigger!

Initially you most likely were happy to work with a simple bowl and easy to maintain and use machines but as you need to become more efficient and fast you start to look for opportunities to do two things – produce more and faster. Perhaps you turn to technology and try getting state-of-the-art machines but one trivial thing that also changes is… size of everything around you.

…in past it was absolutely fine to use a simple bowl – like the one we showed you in our previous devlogs but now? Suddenly you need a bigger thing, something that will ensure that you will create a proper amount of goods. Of course, you can stick with smaller bowls (and use tens of them at the same time) but perhaps it would be easier to simply get something bigger? Take a look at the screenshot to gauge the difference for yourself.

You’ll also notice that the way you move around your bakery might change. While previously it was fine for you to simply take a bowl with your hands and put it on the table right now you’ll need to put it on a cart or a moveable tray in order to even move it a little! But if that makes it worth it and more people can enjoy your breads, pans and rolls – it’s worth it!

Be always prepared for change - thank you!

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #60 “Baking mini-games #3 - Pretzels!”

Hello Bakers!

We’ve already covered few of other baked goodies but this time let’s check pretzels!

It never gets boring... We just love looking at the dough as it symbolizes the endless possibilities enchanted into our bakery. It is a start of everything, a moment of truth and challenge mixed into one little plump piece of dough. Whatever we are going to do with it is up to us but it is always depending on the dough whether our plans will turn out great or end in misery… Never underestimate dough preparation!

…but with dough ready let’s take a look into how the process of preparing pretzels looks like on the board. Short animation below will show you the steps needed to be taken in order to create a perfect pretzel. Be careful when shaping the product as we need to achieve the appropriate iconic look of the pretzel. Game will navigate you and help with the process to make sure that it presents itself with all its glory.

As previously – the green ring symbolizes where you need to click and hold your mouse button – then by moving the mouse you will be able to create the shape of pretzels. When it’s finished – it’s high time to bake and then eventually – enjoy your pretzel!

If you’re getting hungry – try pretzels today!

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #59 “Drive carefully!”

Hello Bakers!

Baking is one part of your job but making sure your products will reach your clients on time is also important!

In order to make sure that the delivery was done correctly you’ll be given some essential tools that will allow you to make quick decisions on the road. Minimap and timer will be some of the greatest allies in your struggle against the road and we sincerely hope you will make a great use out of them both. Minimap will allow you to calculate the best possible route to your destination. It also comes equipped with a special red marker that will signalize the destination. Even if you get lost…

…and drive to some unknown location – the marker will be there to aid you in your delivery quest! The timer (at the moment work in progress!) will also show you if you’re doing a good job or a bad job and if you should perhaps start sweating and trying a little bit harder to squeeze all delivery deadlines into one day.

While driving around the city you should also remember to drive carefully but steadily. Don’t drive recklessly or you will risk an accident or falling behind in your schedule.

Take care of yourself on the road!

Bakery Simulator - Devlog #58 “An essential toolset!”

In all jobs there are particular set of skills and tools that you need to have in order to thrive… Let’s take a look at some of them that you need in your work as a baker!

What you can see on the screenshot above are some of the absolute essentials in your work. Without those you will not be able to prepare anything in your Bakery so make sure to always have them at the ready. These tools will let you properly measure the amount of ingredients you need and get them safely to the bowl. You will use them to prepare and cut the dough with the surgical precision! To be honest one of the tools vaguely reminds us of the scalpel so maybe the comparison isn’t completely without some truth to it?

Bowls might seem to be completely normal but you would do well to appreciate their existence! Imagine working in the bakery without them and you would quickly come to a conclusion that it’s not quite possible to comfortably do your work without them. You need a place to properly stir and mix your ingredients and bowls are there just for that!

Normal and baking trays are very handy when dealing with presenting your baking goodies. Of course you will want to use the baking tray to put the prepared dough in the oven. Remember to not confuse them both as you might cause a fire if that were to happen! As for now…

Take your tray and bake away!
