Update 15 (v0.6.0)



Hi,

We are very excited to introduce you the new update with it’s biggest highlight - a new area Dry Lakes. Now when you defeat a Bogy boss, two doors are opened and you can choose where to go further - either Red Forest or the new area - Dry Lakes. It took longer than we expected to get everything done, but we wanted to make sure that the new area including enemies and boss feels and plays right. Hope you like and enjoy it.

Changes


  • Added visuals in main characters window so that it would be easier to understand how to change the character. Also additionally added A/D and LEFT/RIGHT ARROW keys for character selection.
  • Picking up a new active ability makes a player to drop an old one.
  • Edited Golden Gun description.
  • Edited Ice Cube artefact description.
  • Increased time for secret door indicator presence.


Balance


  • Balanced coin drops from chests.
  • A boss will always drop an active ability after defeat.
  • Balanced weapon drops in Swamp secret levels.


Bug fixes


  • Fixed a bug where Magnet item pulling coins or hearts caused them to stuck in the wall.
  • Fixed a bug where in co-op mode when one player is shooting multi-bullet gun and another player picks up Toy Gun artefact there is no reload time for another player’s weapon.
  • Fixed a bug where when player is shooting multi-bullet gun and picks up another weapon in secret level there is no reload time for that weapon.


The next few updates should be a smaller ones and if everything goes according to the plan should take less time to finish them.

Update 14 (v0.5.87)


Hi,

The biggest highlight of this update is reworked characters system. All passive abilities for characters except Platypus were changed completely. Also from now on, all the characters have active abilities too which can be changed during gameplay and used depending on situation, playing style and etc. More information about each character is now represented in a separate window instead of small icons which were not very descriptive before.
There were some other changes in the game. You can find more details below.

New


  • Added game tutorial. It won’t be shown to those who already played the game and brought any artefacts to the Crow at least once.



  • Added active abilities: Propeller, Icicle, Teleport, Bubble, Iron Wings, Teddy, Egg Bomb and Nails. Abilities can be found during gameplay and picking it up replaces your current ability you have.

  • Added 18 hand-crafted levels.
  • Added two new starting weapons: Drizzler for Duck and Swift for Chicken.

  • Added new Compass item.


Changes


  • Reworked all the characters except Platypus:

    Duck
    Has Drizzle as a starting weapon.
    Not shooting for 1 second reloads weapon for next shot 3 times faster.
    Has 50% lower weapon range.

    Bluebird
    Has Pistol as a starting weapon.
    Any damage taken having 1 HP left, decreases max HP.
    By entering boss level, refills health converting every 5 coins to 1 HP.

    Chicken
    Has Swift as a starting weapon.
    Can kill marked enemies in one shot.
    Shoots innacurately while running.
    Has 80% higher weapon range.

    Parrot
    Has Teeny Tiny Laser Gun as a starting weapon.
    Dealing damage to enemies reduce their walking speed for 2 seconds.
    Has 40% lower cooldown time for active abilities.
    Has 70% lower coin drop possibility.

  • Due to character changes mentioned above, those items and artefacts were changed too:

    Power Punch - completely removed from the game.
    Oblivion Stone - now it takes away character’s active ability instead of taking away ability to slide.
    Venom - now it does not allow to pick up an ability instead of losing an ability.
    Shackles - now it doubles cooldown time for character's active ability instead of reducing the length of slide.

  • Dead enemies now become transparent if they are nearby acid pools.
  • Weapon stealing in the shop now is more clear and understandable. If you step on a tile to buy a weapon without having enough coins, “STEAL” title will appear instead of it's price.


Balance


  • Balanced Platypus a little bit.
  • Black Matter Gun will not be available in Swamp or Graveyard shops.


Bug fixes


  • Fixed a bug where on very rare occasions Player 1 was spawned outside of level map bounds in tournament mode.

Update 13 (v0.5.86)



Hi,

In this update we focused on adding more levels, fixing resource issues and making dead enemies not to overlap collectable game elements anymore. More information below.

New


  • Added secret doors
  • Added new 29 hand-crafted levels.
  • New machines for trading resources (keys, hearts, coins).
  • Dead enemies now become transparent if keys, coins, hearts, items, artefacts, treasure chests, Spawner eggs or door are nearby.


Changes


  • No more repeating locked levels in the same area.
  • Improved player collision detection for players who had low fps.
  • Now the environment elements (trees and etc.) do not obstruct the level view.


Balance


  • Balanced the Bogy boss more.
  • Balanced coin drops.
  • Item Medal of Honor now will drop only one heart.
  • Item Bayonet now reduces weapon range more, weapon damage remains unchanged.
  • Reduced additional weapon range a little bit for Scope item.
  • Balanced loot drops from treasure chests.
  • Balanced artefact drops.
  • Duck Scout Badge item now increases running speed by 15% instead of 20%.


Bug fixes


  • Fixed a bug where you could not deal damage to Crux on it’s hit animation.

Update 12 (v0.5.85)

Hi,

The main focus for this update was on performance. Until now the game was running at a fixed frame rate (60 fps). Due to game engine specifics, even if the players had high spec PC sometimes they experienced frame rate lower than 60 fps. For those and for the players who had lower spec hardware, the game was running slower. With this update the game now has a dynamic frame rate, so ones who have computers which can handle high frame rates now can enjoy even smoother gameplay, and those who see up to 60 fps can have full game experience.

Changes


  • Adjusted colliders for Brute, Puffs and Fat Fly.
  • Fixed Grenade Launcher spelling mistake.
  • Fixed a spelling mistake in Frying Pan description.


Bug fixes


  • Fixed a bug where Zip bullet hitting ghost statue triggered ghost to appear on wrong side.
  • Fixed a bug where wrong number of items near risk value indication bar was showed when the risk value of last collected artefact was equal to the remaining risk value in the bar.
  • Fixed a bug where risk value bar was visually filled a little bit even if you did not have any artefacts in possession.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes Jut’s lightning was visually in the wrong position for the first few frames.
  • Fixed a bug where you couldn’t deal damage to enemies with Needle item if Cloak item was in effect.
  • Fixed a bug where picking up an item in the shop would also caused accidentally buying or stealing a gun. Now you can do one action at a time.


New area is in the making and after couple updates you can enjoy it.

Update 11 (v0.5.84)



Hi,

Here's an update which as promised includes rebalanced Bogy boss. Also we added some new artefacts, fixed some bugs and made some changes.

Bug fixes


  • Fixed a bug where on very rare occasions Newt was stuck on hit animation just before his death.
  • Fixed an issue which happened sometimes when Newt was on the lower part of arena and on taking damage part of his tongue flashed incorrectly.
  • Fixed a bug where a Ghost in Graveyard appeared not on the correct side when Brute hit the statue.


New


  • Added 5 new artefacts: Empty Box, Ice Cube, Handcuffs, Splinter, Token
  • Added animation for Eagle when gun is stolen in the shop.


Balance


  • Rebalanced Bogy boss (Graveyard).


Changes


  • Now when player steps on acid or goes into toxic fumes they start dealing damage not instantly but with a little delay.
  • While player slides through acid or toxic fumes it does not take damage from it.

Hi,

Thank you for letting us know about the bugs. Here’s a quick update to fix some issues.

Bug fixes


  • Fixed an issue when items which modify damage of weapons dealt to enemies also modified a damage dealt to characters.
  • Fixed a bug in Tournament mode where a player who dealt damage to himself with Grenade launcher or Rocket launcher got the points.
  • Fixed a bug in Tournament Golden Skull mode where indication of player's lost HP was showed every time a damage with weapon was dealt despite the fact that weapons don’t deal any damage in this mode.
  • Fixed an issue where locked level name went out of pause window bounds.

Update 9 (v0.5.82)


Hi,

It’s been a while since our last update and finally the new update is here. It took time to put everything together, because after adding new weapons due to the way they work a lot of adjustments, balancing and changes in the game itself were needed too. That also lead to reviewing every single existing weapon. In this update Bogy (Graveyard boss) remains more or less the same as in previous version. We still need more time to make the needed changes and balance this boss more so it’s likely that in the next version it will be significantly updated.

More details about the update below:

New


  • Added new weapons: Teeny Tiny Laser Gun, Knife Arbalest, Poison Gun, Ice Gun, Nail Gun, Azure, Golden Gun, Grenade Launcher, Rocket Launcher, Zip.
  • Added a light shining from the hatch when it opens. Now it’s easier to find the characters at the beginning of the level.
  • Now every time you want to buy a gun in the shop you can view it’s stats at the bottom of game window.
  • Now you can steal a gun in the shop if you do not have enough coins to buy it, however, it will have consequences.
  • Additionally added confirm button “E” in menu.
  • Training book item now has visual representation when it’s triggered.
  • Before attacking Crux (Red Forest Boss) will indicate where the rotating crystals will be.
  • Newt (Swamp Boss) now has a separate indication when he will attack with his tongue.


Changes


  • Improved visuals of explosions.
  • If you passed at least one loop, a number of loops passed will be showed in game end and pause windows.
  • The time intervals of acid when it does damage for bosses will be the same as for other enemies.
  • The time intervals of toxic fumes when it does damage for bosses will be the same as for other enemies.
  • Removed invincibility frames for bosses.


Balance


  • Reduced damage dealt by Fat Fly.
  • Increased possibility for Training Book item to be triggered.
  • Reduced possibility that there will be a random weapon in the shop and if it is, it will be the only one random weapon.
  • Balanced which weapons and when appear in the Story mode.
  • Adjusted prices of weapons.
  • Balanced coin drops from the enemies.
  • Balanced which weapons and how many appear in the Tournament mode.
  • Balanced artefact drops from the enemies.
  • Reduced Shotgun’s damage dealt from 2x3 bullets to 1x3 bullets.
  • Reduced Razor gun’s damage dealt from 2 to 1.
  • Reduced Black Matter Gun secondary bullets’s damage dealt from 2 to 1.
  • Balanced all the bosses.
  • Balanced enemies HP and damage dealt in the loop.
  • Balanced weapon prices in the loop.
  • Increased Jut’s charging time.
  • Increased risk value for Green Crystal artefact from 1.1 to 1.3.

Update 8 (v0.5.81)



Hi,

Here is a small update with some of community suggested items and artefacts. We are really thankful and happy for great ideas and suggestions you share and all the support. Here’s an overview of the update:

Bug fixes


  • Fixed a bug where co-op player’s negative impact of all his artefacts was reset after another player gave his artefacts to the crow in the shop.


New


  • Artefacts: Bogy Bone, Coal, Shackles.
  • Items: Frying Pan, Duck Scout Badge.


Changes


  • Tweaked shooting while player is running a little bit.


This is the last update this year. The next one should include the improved guns system, more guns and other things. As new guns require new sounds so making this update should take up to few weeks, but we will try to make and release it as soon as possible.

Update 7 (v0.5.80)


Hi,

We would like to introduce Update 7. We did not manage to do everything what we planned so we will put these in upcoming updates. The biggest change in the game with this update is the changed artefacts/items exchange system. You can read more below, so here’s an overview of this update.

Bug fixes


  • Fixed a bug where sometimes you could deal damage to Creep when he’s hiding.
  • Fixed a bug where a crosshair was visible after co-op player was dead, if he was playing with mouse and keyboard.
  • Fixed a bug where first shot had a wrong direction if Fire button was held while a player was jumping out of the hatch.
  • Fixed a bug where some weapons would not deal damage to enemies if they were standing very close to the wall above them.
  • Fixed a bug where Fat Fly exploded running into the worm even if he was under the ground.


Changes


  • Changed Items/Artefacts exchange system. Now every artefact has it’s risk value depending on the negative impact it has. The number of items you get in the shop now depends on the total risk value you carried. The indicator at the top will show the minimum amount of items you will get in the shop and how much risk value you still need to collect for additional item. So with this new system players will be rewarded more.
  • Edited Lunch Box and Lock Pick Set descriptions.
  • Added additional animation for Puffus when he’s dead but not exploded.
  • Older versions had an option to turn on adjusted movement controls for gamepad with F8 keyboard key. Now it’s deprecated.
  • Improved movement controls for gamepad.
  • Improved shooting. Now the speed of bullet also depends on player’s movement.
  • Improved aiming with gamepad.
  • Changed the movement of the main Black Matter Gun bullet. Now it’s more predictable and has a range.
  • Razor Gun now has a distance parameter instead of number of bounces.
  • Adjusted player’s slide ability.
  • Explosion marks now are shown below the spikes.
  • Butterflies in Swamp are now more blended into the environment.
  • Added additional pre-explode animation for Fat Fly. It will work as an indicator that Fat Fly is about to explode.
  • If you want to give the artefacts to the crow, you no longer need to wait while the text over the crow disappears.


Balance


  • Golden Bullet item now increases weapon damage by 0.5% for every coin you have. (Previously it was 0.2%).
  • Pistol, Double pistol and Shotgun bullets are more accurate now. Previously it had a small deviation on every shot.
  • Coupon item - increased the discount for weapons by 10%.
  • Red Juice item - changed what it does. Now it refills your HP and if you already have full HP adds 1 max HP.
  • Hourglass item - increased the chance to get HP every time you enter next level.
  • Rusted coin item - increased the amount of coins you get after picking up the item from +1 to +5.
  • Stethoscope item - increased a chance to loot more hearts.
  • Keychain item - increased a chance to loot more keys.
  • Cooked Plump-plant item - now it gives +2 max HP instead of +1.
  • Metal detector item - tweaked a little bit.
  • Jar with Stardust item - inverted what it does. Now it decreases explosion range.
  • Pot item - adjusted the chance to loot more coins.
  • Transdimentional Pizza - additionally it will increase weapon damage.
  • Blank Check - the player who picks up this item now also gets 1 key.
  • Love - now it will add max HP instead of HP for co-op player.
  • Sandwich - changed what it does. Now it adds your HP to your max HP but not more than 3.


We plan to release a small update this Friday which will include some of community suggested items and artefacts.

Here’s an overview of what you will see in Update 6. 

New


  • Added 4 new items: Lunch Box, Sandwich, Screwdriver, Second Wind.
  • Added 6 new artefacts: Grappling Hook, Toy Gun, Toy Scanner, Venom, Trap, Cracked Clock.
  • Added inventory summary in pause screen. Now you can pause a game and view every item’s or artefact’s name and what it does. In tournament mode you will see tournament stats when the game is paused.
