Multiplayer Update

Hello!

In this update the multiplayer mode got some love and should work drastically better now. Most importantly the size limit for custom vehicles has been raised and the vehicle data is further compressed for networking, the result is that custom vehicles in multiplayer can now be about 10x bigger than before.

Multiplayer:
- Custom vehicle size limit raised and vehicle files now compressed (size limit can be tweaked in config files)
- Host can set the max number of bricks a vehicle may have
- Improved physics networking, vehicles glitching out should be far less common

Improvements:
- Explosions within a vehicle are combined for better performance and bigger destruction (few tanks or thrusters cause less destruction than before but many of them can form a massive explosion)
- Pump brick can now be used to extinguish fire

Bug fixes:
- Fixed siren 2 not looping
- Fixed crash when entering a vehicle in free cam mode

Known issues:
- Vehicles where large parts are connected with actuators or couplings can still glitch out

Update

Hello!

Once again, this update features some general editor and gameplay improvements as well as a few bug fixes. Enjoy and don't hold back your feedback!

New:
- Added per vehicle invincibility setting
- New 2x2x1 and 2x2x4 tanks

Improvements:
- Improved automatic hand brake
- Increased grid map size to 200x200km (previously 32x32km)
- Thrusters now also use fuel from tanks

Bug fixes:
- Fixed crash when entering the editor in free cam mode
- Fixed nameplate text not becoming invisible in the editor
- Fixed nameplate text not appearing after adding the brick
- Fixed windmill collision on desert map
- Fixed having to press change camera button twice in first person view with a camera on the vehicle

Editor:
- Bricks can be rotated at 1.40625° increments when holding down shift
- Added search box for bricks
- Added selected brick type text in the lower left corner

Hotfix

Hello,

This hotfix addresses some issues that were introduces with the update from yesterday and adds a button in the input menu to reset the key configurations to default.

- Fixed train getting stuck
- Fixed editor crashing when pivoting the camera with no brick selected
- Fixed Alt throttle axis not working with a gamepad
- Added new brick materials (including wood)
- Added button to reset the controls

Update

Hey!

This update includes a really cool new feature as requested by the community, the free camera mode! Simply press F on your keyboard while walking around or in a vehicle to enter free camera mode. Together with the new slow motion features you can capture some pretty epic crashes! I hope you have as much fun playing around with it as I had implementing and testing it!

New:
- Free camera mode (press F to enter/exit, WASDEQ to move and scroll to change the speed)
- Change slow motion speed from 0.001x to 10x with Numpad + and - keys
- Added ballistic tank gun
- Added 2x4x2 windscreen
- The train on the city map now has some company

Improvements:
- Toggle outline x ray mode with X key in the editor
- Rotate camera around selected brick by holding down Alt in the editor
- Increased large projectile explosion damage
- Automatically enter passenger seat when entering a vehicle with an occupied driver seat from the map
- Slow motion is now toggle instead of hold
- Improved multiplayer vehicle spawn and exiting

Bug fixes:
- Fixed Alt Throttle axis receiving wrong input
- Fixed handbrake not applying when exiting the vehicle

Editor Update

This update features a couple of improvements for Vehicle Editor, as well as other new features.

Editor:
- New free camera movement, controlled with they WASDEQ keys while holding down the right mouse button. Press F to snap the camera to the current selection
- Bricks can be moved faster up and down by holding left Shift while scrolling
- Improved outline: Outline is not x-ray anymore but culled by not select bricks in front of it. Line between active and selected bricks is always drawn. This should make it easier to see what is selected and where it is in the 3D space
- When a Workshop vehicle is not already downloaded via Steam, it will be automatically downloaded when opening it in the editor

Other:
- New "Rounded Corner" brick (Zylinders or Bricks category)
- Fixed bricks receiving view yaw or pitch input while holding the right mouse button to interact

Last but not least: Since so many new players have problems to find the reverse gear, vehicles now automatically shift into reverse when braking and standing still. I have to admit that it now indeed feels much more fluent and intuitive. The old system is still in use for the manual transmission mode.

Update

Hello,

Here is what changed with the updates from today and yesterday:
- New 4x2 wheel
- New 2x1x1s actuator
- Fixed slow acceleration and shifting issue
- Added gear ratio slider to engines
- Workshop author names are now correctly displayed (you are welcome Gray)

Update

We have a new update incoming today, some of it as requested by players and some of it additions by me.

- New empty "grid map"
- New large structural parts for planes
- Heavily improved wing aerodynamics, far smoother and more realistic
- New corner ramp pieces
- New "target marker" brick (camera category, shows the predicted trajectory of weapons)
- New vehicle camera behavior, rotation stays relative to the vehicle orientation (before always dragged behind vehicle)

Yet another update

I don't even know how but we got another update today!

- Remastered Racetrack map
- Added control binding settings
- Tweaked engine physics further (still work in progress)

First update in 2017

Hello!

This first update in 2017 brings a couple of new bricks and improvements that should be a lot of fun for builders and drivers alike.
The main change that you will notice is that motors behave singificantly different. Vehicles should now accelerate properly even when they are very heavy or driving up steep slopes.
This change should turn offroading into a viable option, which you can test for yourself for example with the new 8x8 offroad truck on the desert map!

Bricks:
- Added passenger seats
- New custom nameplate bricks in various sizes
- New diesel V12 engine
- New 20x1x1s linear actuator
- New double sided ramps
- New trapezoid brick
- Various new standard bricks
- Fixed collision on siren

Multiplayer:
- Map name and player count displayed in server browser
- Host can kick players in the scoreboard now

Other:
- New engine physics, less physically accurate, more powerful
- Removed outdated default vehicles and added new ones
- In game menu can be exited with Escape key
- Actuator movement with interaction is replicated now

Misc Updates

Hey!

Today's update features some exciting changes, which I know a lot of people have been waiting for.

- Added option for private server slots (invite friends via the Steam overlay)
- Added patterns to the brick material palette, primarily camouflages
- Added 5x2 offroad wheel
- Added 2x2x1s angular actuator
