Cavity Busters Update 21

Hey all! Here with another update. This update lays the foundation for some future features as well as adding some goodies. Plus the addition of BIG rooms. These will only spawn on the first area for now. Future updates will add big rooms to the other areas.

What's New:

  • the game will now track what hurts you during a run and on death will display what killed you and a bar graph of everything that hurt you
  • 33 new rooms
  • 1 new upgrade: Reconstruction Surgery
  • 1 new synergy: Thor Throat
  • updated an enemies art
  • updated a handful of enemy ai so they're a bit smarter


Fixes and Tweaks:

  • fixed a bug where Plaque Darko would escape the room
  • fixed a bug where curing mutiple diseases wouldn't unlock an item
  • fixed bug in tutorial where shot gums would repeat the reload sound
  • changed how skin tags work: now they spawn on one enemy per loop
  • poison meters no longer fill while there's important text on screen
  • fixed golden heart not doing a full hp cure when goop was higher than 100
  • crowned slomo now works properly with baby tooth.
  • updated an enemies art
  • updated a handful of enemy ai so they're a bit smarter
  • updated a few rooms that are more bullet heavy to have obstacle cover

Cavity Busters Update 20

Hey all! Welcome to another bi-weekly update. It's another mixed bag with some quality of life changes, some upgrades, and a new mini boss. Lets dive in!

What's new:

  • 2 new room mod types: player goop refill and reward for no damage room clear
  • 1 new mini boss. This one shows up in Ortho I.
  • 3 new upgrades: toaster, electric guitar, and face mask
  • teleport map now shows room mods on the map
  • a new health type: Fillings! When you get hurt, these break in filling pick ups
  • tumor progress is now displayed in the pause menu
  • added a tutorial for using crowned tooth slomo. Btw this has been in the game since day one but was never shown to the player except in the launch trailer.


Fixes and Tweaks:

  • crappy toy received a minor buff towards dropping regular pick ups
  • fixed slow down when alot of fillings are donated at the end of a run
  • wall zits wont make bullets if player is still in contact with them
  • items in the shop cost more when you loop
  • fixed text for Diseaple
  • fixed a bug with tumors crashing the game when trying to create "Bone"
  • shot gums will be one button press by default
  • tutorial has been updated to reflect this
  • adjusted where menu buttons display so they're are more centered
  • fixed a bug where picking up a shot gum ammo type in the hub wouldn't take effect if you changed character
  • default gummy now has proper shot gums in hub area
  • nerfed bot enemy
  • buffed canker upgrade a bit by increasing spawn rate and fire rate

Hello everyone! Welcome to another update. This is a big hodge podge of different stuff. Two weeks is a rad amount of time to get stuff done. That'll probably be the norm from now on. On to the stuff!

What's New

  • 35 new rooms
  • 1 new enemy
  • 2 new upgrades
  • 2 new synergy
  • planted tumors will now show you what disease is in effect


Fixes and tweaks

  • as the tongue, deflecting bullets that were already yellow seek out enemies
  • nerfed level 3 dronk fight
  • lowered health of big slime enemy
  • tweaked and added a handful of alt patterns to enemies
  • fillings count a bit more towards gaining a seed
  • pulling tooth through enemies causes slightly more damage
  • swab upgrade is more effective
  • hard mode slime are a bit different
  • can no longer dig out of last room

Cavity Busters Update 18 - Alternate enemy bullet patterns

Hello everyone! We skipped last weeks update so that I could mostly finish (lol) this update. It brings LOADS of new bullet patterns. This really spices up rooms with different enemy ai and different bullet patterns. Now I'm introducing this update like it's been in the game all long. Meaning you slowly unlock these new patterns through playing the game normally and killing enemies. But for those of you who have been playing the game for awhile now, I added an option to unlock these bullet patterns right away. It's not a huge grind to unlock but this option is another step towards making the game more accessible. Along with that there's now an option to unlock all items! :) These are found in the accessibility menu.

What's New:

  • new alternate bullet patterns (note there's a few enemies without. they'll be patched at a later date.)
  • a handful of enemies normal patterns where updated
  • a new section was added to the accessibility menu: "Force Unlock Options"
  • a lot of enemies make little shooty sounds now
  • 3 new bullet sprites
  • 2 new upgrades
  • loads of other tweaks


And with that, this is the last update for the year. We've done 18 updates since the August release, filled with new items, new characters, rooms, enemies and so much more! Cavity Busters Update 17

Hey all! Welcome to another weekly update. This ones file size is larger then normal. And that's due to loads of new sounds! Sweet, sweet juicy sounds. Cavity Busters now supports cloud saves! Which was easier to implement then I thought it would be so shame on me for putting it off. Plus a few new quality of life editions.

What's New:

  • a bunch of new sounds
  • all projectiles will turn blue when you start wall running to indicate that they can't hurt you
  • stunned enemies (flashing yellow and blue) can be shot gummed for extra damage
  • cloud saving


Fixes and tweaks:

  • fixed a bug that would cause the player to "teleport" to opposite walls when wall dashing
  • fixed a bug where if a player saved and quit a run with cured diseases that came about by planting tumors, they would load the game with those diseases uncured.
  • changed the color of the drone map icon
  • Nerfed explosive diarrhea
  • Tongue can now deflect seek bullets with a charged shot or regular shot if Bursting Seek disease is held

Update 16 hotfix 1

Hey all. This is just the first batch of balance changes to the new player. There's a few more things to do but I needed to get this update out because there was a nasty bug that needed to be fixed.


  • balance for new gummy
  • unlocking gummy displays correct icon
  • fixed a bug with loading a saved game where synergies made the game unplayable

Cavity Busters Update 16 - New character update!

Hey everyone and welcome to update 16! We have another bone crusher for you.

New Gummy
First and most exciting is the new playable character! If you've been playing for awhile, you'll likely unlock this new gummy when you fire up the game. Otherwise you may need to do some grinding. This new character is whole new play-style, with some new mechanics and a greater emphasis on some older mechanics. And on to what else is new.

What's new

  • Rubber Glove upgrade
  • Explosive DIARRHEA upgrade
  • Shot Gums: Akimbone upgrade
  • Nose Bubbles upgrade
  • Fried Laser Egg upgrade
  • Tongue Dagger upgrade



Fixes and tweaks

  • screen lock now works in full screen mode
  • slime ball bursts from other projectiles

- fixed a crash caused by the travelling merchant upgrade
- fixed a bug where enemies would get near infinite health from frozen effects
- 'beating the game unlocks', now unlock when you kill the last boss instead of seeing the ending scene

Cavity Busters Update #15

Hello everyone! And welcome newcomers. Are your ready to eat? *nervous laughter* OK so since last weeks update was late and large like an overdue baby, this update is a bit smaller but still important and in need of your love.

What's new:

  • This is a potentially big change. In my time with it, I loved it. It's the wall run bubble. When wall running you receive i-frames. Now when the i-frames run out wall run bubble will pop, pushing away nearby enemies and destroying nearby bullets. It makes wall running much safer.
  • updated the stat icons
  • dronk boss room now has a map icon


Fixes and tweaks:

  • lab experiment won't spawn on duplicated enemies or slimes
  • tooth in turbo mode is much more reliable
  • gave some later enemies more hp
  • gave some faster enemies a delay start
  • fixed a bug where lasers were getting stuck in walls
  • fixed a few upgrades that weren't working properly with the baby character
  • most enemies created by duplicating or spawned by another enemy won't be champion enemies.
