A number of songs have been improved! Also, the end-of-game story sequence has an entirely new song and a revised version of the credits music.
Artwork and Animation Improvements
As usual, a number of small tweaks throughout the game. Several bosses have more detailed artwork, among other changes.
“Big Sur” and Apple Silicon
The game has been tested on the new macOS “Big Sur” release and is supported. It has also been built with direct support for both original Intel Macs (x86_64) and new Apple Silicon Macs (arm64).

The next Celtreos patch is live!
New Negative Item “Reduced Range”
Be careful…there is yet another power-down in the game, “reduced range”! This will significantly limit the distance that your weapons can reach, for several seconds.
New Enemies
There are even more types of foes in the game! You can see them in stages such as “Hyperspace Pursuit” and “Colony Evacuation”.
Artwork and Animation Improvements
Lots of small new details all over the place! Several enemy projectiles or firing effects have been improved. Even your player ship’s tail exhaust looks cooler now. The background in “Hyperspace Pursuit” is now a lot more intense, and some other game graphics have been tweaked as well.

Extra Boss in “Shipyard Attack”!
At the end of the game there are now two boss fights, back-to-back! The new boss has a wide variety of attacks and moves, some of which are not used by any other enemy. Oh, and your ship’s sensors cannot detect how many hit points it has. Prepare yourself!
More Base-Speed Options
You can now choose “X-Low”, “Low” or “Normal” base ship speeds in the main Options Screen. These are particularly useful when playing with certain game controllers or other input devices that may lack precision. The base speed is only the default; as before, your ship can still go even slower using the Slow mode in-game (e.g. Shift/Caps-Lock key or A/X buttons), and your ship still automatically moves a bit slower in dense-layout stages such as “Space Station” and “Refinery Raid”.
Game Tweaks
Minor gameplay improvements in various stages. Small enhancements to some effects. Also, a handful of optimizations to ensure a good frame rate in high-traffic cases (like lots of bullets on screen).

A big update to Celtreos!
Huge Artwork Upgrade
Several parts of the game have had their artwork significantly updated. Backgrounds in most stages are now much more detailed, and there are even some cool new background effects (like swirling lava pools in “Sharp Descent”!). Some bosses are more detailed. There are even some tweaks to the UI.
Weapon Array Swapping
Weapons are even more useful now because you no longer have to stick with your choice of array for the entire game! At the very end of every boss fight, up to three alternate weapon arrays will now spawn. You can choose to ignore these special power-ups, or touch one of them to use a different array of weapons! Note that this not only swaps out the set of power-ups that can be found in future stages but it changes the slots for any weapons you currently have. For instance, if you had “Seeker” (a locator-class weapon) and you choose to switch to an array that has a different locator-class weapon such as “Phaser”, you will no longer have “Seeker” but you will have “Phaser” instead.
Mac App Icon Update
The Mac app icon has been updated to match the rounded-corner style of icons on macOS “Big Sur”.
Lots of detail has been added throughout the game, along with some cool new effects!

A big update to Celtreos!
New Stage “Refinery Raid”
There are now 12 stages! Just before the final shipyard attack, now you have to fly carefully through the narrow pipes of the enemy’s fuel refinery. Naturally, the soundtrack has been extended with another great song to go with this.
New “Voice” Volume Setting
It is now possible to set the volume of voice separately from other sounds. This affects anything that is spoken, such as power-up acquisitions.
Artwork Improvements
Some of the artwork is slightly more detailed, such as backgrounds in “Jungle Cave” and “Alien Ocean”.
Performance Improvements
A variety of improvements have been made that may not be visible but they will make the game “feel” better.
Just before the final shipyard stage, now you have to navigate a twisted maze of pipes in a refinery!

A big update to Celtreos!
New Weapon “Tail Whip”
It’s not entirely clear what this thing really is, or what dimension it came from. Your ship’s graviton particle tech can wield these tentacles with frightening accuracy, tearing through almost anything! There are tentacles in front of your ship but also many more attacking away from your ship as you move. Find this new weapon in the Weaver Series, or select it in a custom weapon array.
New Weapon “Magnet Mine”
These powerful bombs float away from your ship as you move, while you simultaneously fire a weak version of your default weapon. The mines also head toward nearby enemies, and they hug walls. Find “Magnet Mine” in the Plasma Series, or custom weapon arrays.
Other Weapon Tweaks
Weapons that also fire normal forward shots (such as “Sideliner” and “Ground Wave”) now fire the forward shots normally, which generally makes them more useful. In particular, the forward shot fires at its normal frequency, which is often different from the selected weapon’s firing frequency; and if Beam is your normal weapon, it moves with the ship as it otherwise would.
New Enemy Abilities
Certain enemies have learned how to attack with lightning!
Physics Bug Fixes
In certain cases, game physics could become pretty wild. Now it should no longer be possible for large ships to jump around the screen.
Two new opposing-movement weapons…the tentacle-like “Tail Whip”, and the powerful “Magnet Mine”!

New Positional Sound Effects
Sounds are now heard “from” the actions on screen that caused them. For example, an exploding ship on the left side of the screen will now sound louder from the left speaker or earphone.
Power-Up Ships
Although many power-ups still appear directly on the screen, now some power-ups will only appear by destroying a new type of ship! These ships are not always easy to spot and they may move away very quickly. In addition, power-ups spawned by destroying ships will not move in a straight line; they can travel in circles or slide up and down.
“Sweeper” and “Star Strike” Improvements
These weapons now both have a weak frontal attack in addition to their “opposing movement” behavior.

Better Performance
The game should feel faster, as several general improvements have been made.
Gameplay Improvements
There are new enemies in “Dimensional Rift”! In “Space Station”, there are several new wall turrets and some other minor layout changes. The “Beam” weapon is now more powerful (especially at its lowest setting), which should make it much more useful.

Expanded “Jungle Cave” Boss
This mysterious walker is now a lot bigger, with three heads and some new attacks!
Artwork and Animation Improvements
Several player ships now look much better! Enhancements to artwork and effects have been made in everything from stage backgrounds to weapons and enemies.
Updated Music and Sound
Many songs in the soundtrack have been improved! Some sound effects have also been tweaked.
The “Jungle Cave” boss is now a lot bigger, firing bullets and lasers and launching bombs.

New Defender Pod, “Sentry”
A new power-up “Sentry” is now available in the Weaver Series (and custom arrays). Sentry pods will occupy defensive positions near your ship and automatically fire a short-ranged laser at anything nearby. You can acquire up to 5 Sentry pods.
New Boss Abilities
Several bosses can now fire a new type of weapon! These larger, oval-shaped projectiles can be destroyed but they are more resistant to weapons than regular bullets.
Artwork and Animation Improvements
Several stage backgrounds and animation effects have been improved throughout the game.
