Call to Arms Tournament
With the rank reset tomorrow we will be officially kicking off the next season, Call to Arms. At the end of each season we hold a tournament for the top players (the current one is still wrapping up: http://forums.conquestofchampions.com/index.php?threads/pre-steam-tournament.795/).
Call to Arms Tournament Details:
The top 32 players will qualify for a single-elimination tournament. Cut-off time is TBD but just know it is roughly 3 months out as we want to get in the pattern of an expansion/season every 3 months.
Prizes:
Grand Prize: Help design & name a spell that will be used in the 3rd expansion. You will work with Daggan on this and ultimately your idea will need to be approved by Daggan and may be subject to future nerfing/tweaking to ensure it is balanced.
Second Place: Expansion 2 Hero & Deck.
Third Place: Expansion 2 Deluxe Pack.

New Season Starts July 24th
We plan on doing a large patch this Thursday and along with it we will be kicking off the next tournament season. During the downtime on Thursday we will need to wipe all games in-progress along with rank. This will allow us to have a clean leaderboard after the wipe and it will also prevent a few issues that could occur with what we are changing with some of the units/etc.
To be clear, we will not alter any inventory/purchases/decks/etc. This is strictly a rank reset and in-progress game wipe.
Please try to wrap up your games before Thursday! Sorry for the inconvenience, but I am greatly excited to get out some of these improvements. (matchmaker/unit balancing/bug fixes/new card art/etc)

Here's a quick patch before the weekend. Today's patch is focused primarily on fixing errors and trying to add some additional network robustness for situations where people have less than stellar internet connections.

Network
Added some additional handling of network traffic when the game connection is unreliable.
The game client will now attempt to send messages more times before failing.
These changes should help fix issues where the game gets stuck loading because a network message failed. We are continuing to work on this and this issue may still exist in various cases

Fixed an issue that could cause units from a practice battle or tutorial to be spawned in a quickmatch in certain rare cases

Fixed some issues causing Quick Matches to get stuck and then forfeit
Corrected an issue that could cause the Deck Manager and Card Fusion pages to display less cards of a particular card than you actually owned
Ambush dealing double attack during turn playback is now fixed. This would result in units incorrectly dying during playback and then re-appearing at the start of your turn.
Fixed issue involving Draw Phase that would trigger some abilities additional times during playback. Similar to ambush, this could cause playback to show an incorrect death or not show a death that should have occurred. Both would get corrected at the start of your turn but would cause units to appear/disappear which is confusing.
Fixed Paladin Blade which was doing an extra 10 damage to non-Embercult units.

Today's patch is focused on additional improvements to matchmaking and quickmatch.

Quickmatch
Made improvements to how some events are sent to the other player. This should result in less delay between turns.
Changed how the forfeit timer works on the server in order to prevent games from being automatically forfeited incorrectly, especially in cases where one player’s actions were not being played back and were all be replayed for the other player after that player ended their turn.
Matchmaker
The matchmaker will now wait longer in order to find matches more close in rating
The matchmaker is now more restrictive when matching players
The deck manager no longer automatically selects a deck and instead shows the deck selection modal when going into the deck manager.
Added some additional flair to the main menu.

Fixed the Steam version of the client to use the included assets that are part of the Steam download.

Made adjustments to the matchmaker to slow down the rate at which you are matched against players further above or below your rating.
This is the first step in our refinement of the matchmaker. Over the next few patches we are planning additional work to tighten up the matchmaker and provide more fair matches

Rarities - Exotics have been added to the game. Whenever a RARE card is set to be obtained, there is a 10% chance an Exotic card is granted instead. Exotics that are craftable will NOT be randomly granted in drops and packs.

Gold Changes
All gold costs have been reduced by a factor of 10 (from 1000 to 100, for example)

Extended Matches
Extended Match timeout has been reduced from 5 days to 3 days.
Improvements
Added a new path that locks parts of the game until the player has finished the tutorial and some other tasks in order to help simplify the new player experience
In Extended matches you can now use retry as many times as you wish.
Fusion
Can fuse up to 10 cards in 1 setting rather than 4.
Added warning if you try to burn a leveled card.
Added message if card could not be used due to being used in a deck.
Added rollover buttons to Add/Remove cards to deck/fusion with 1 click (rather than drag)
Added buttons on the scrollbar in the deck manager to page through the deck and collection if one does now want to drag

There is no longer require a minimum number of turns to get a reward if you win a ranked game. However, you must take at least 6 turns before you forfeit if you want a reward.
Balance
Player 1 now receives 6 cards in their initial draw and Player 2 receives 7 cards (1 less for each player)
There is now a maximum of 2 attacks per soldier on that player's turn
If a stealthed soldier is revealed by an opponent running into him with a unit, the stealthed unit gets a free attack of opportunity against the discovering unit
Knowledge ability change - DMG reduced, max HPs reduced (+3 DMG, +1 DEF, +5 max HPs for a card draw)

Fixed issue where after toggling filters it would prevent entire stacks of cards to be fused even though not all of them were used in a deck.
Toggling filters no longer creates visual duplicates of the selected cards.
Going straight to Fusion from the main menu will now properly select the correct resource filters.
Fixed issue where players viewing wins against forfeits were unable to correctly view the special offer pack.
