Update 2.07b out now!

Hey guys,
Update 2.07b is here! This is mainly a bug fixing update, no new content (yet). 2.08 will be focused on new content though, including the long awaited Racing AI!

What's new?



  • Fixed respawn glitch - the car will automatically reset if you flip it over or you can manually reset it by pressing R (you can no longer spam R and fly around, it will only work once every few seconds)
  • New loading screen animation - Less glitchy and makes more sense
  • Fixed pause menu bug - clicking main menu would result in no loading screen, user could click main menu button several times leading to a loading glitch that would break the game
  • Fixed main menu bugs - cars no longer make wierd noises when switching
  • New color options - If car has a secondary color (stripes, etc), it can now be changed along with metallic values.
  • (hopefully) fixed issues with Xbox controllers not working in game, will update this bullet point once I get confirmation that it works

Update 2.07 is finally here!!!!!!!

Hey guys,
Update 2.07 is here! I apoligize for the delay, I got hit with a lot of schoolwork and a lot of bugs. I (think) I fixed the issues with the Steamworks .NET sdk so hopefully this update will work normally with steam. Currently the only Steamworks features that I integrated in this update pertain to screenshots and a simple username display in the pause menu. Screenshots taken in the main menu should now be free of UI! I will add in a option later to upscale the screenshots into a higher resolution.

What's new?



  • Improved graphics - Color grading re done, less image effects used (improves performance), depth of field added into main menu
  • Damage System (some vehicles only) - Wheel detachment, hinge damage (doors, trunk, hood, etc), improved mesh deformation
  • Improved UI in-game - RPM bar now changes color to indicate optimal shift times, detailed info about vehicle in lower left hand corner, damage indicator (MK4 Roadster only)
  • Pause Menu - Completely redone, new icons, 3d effect
  • New weather option - Fog
  • Camera system - Press x to look behind (any camera view), camera now follows and damps z-rotation of target (noticeable sway/rotation matching when banking)
  • Driver model - New driver model, basic facial animations (eye blink and movement), improved rig, higher detailed clothing, fixed hand and foot placement for some cars
  • Obey V10 - new sounds, performance and dashboard
  • Chevette G1 - Fixed color changing of interior
  • Audio Improvements - new sounds for some vehicles, reverb on all tracks (echo)
  • Monza Track - Fixed placement of trees (no longer glitching outside of barriers), lighting fixes for day and night, misc performance fixes
  • Ambient Occlusion - replaced screen space version with new image effect, eliminates "scan-line" effect when moving camera
  • Steamworks integration - taking screenshots in the main menu will properly hide UI, bug found - taking screenshot while at the main menu (menu with pictures to select car, track, etc) will cause a UI resize, please take screenshots when in photo mode or before clicking begin for now, I will patch this tomorrow. ALSO: STEAM IS NOW REQUIRED TO LAUNCH THE GAME. Without steam, the game will not run and any steam features will not work (duh). If you launch the game without steam, it will reboot and attempt to launch from steam.

I hope you all enjoy this update! I will be releasing a hotfix within the next few days to fix all known bugs (and unknown, please do let me know if you find something).

Damage Physics Update

Hey guys,
Apologies for the delay of Update 2.07, I've been getting a lot of schoolwork lately and it gets in the way of my time to work on Corona MotorSport sometimes. Currently, I'm in the process of replacing some deprecated components on the cars with new ones, such as the new damage script, which you can see in action in the video below (youtube ruined the color balance during the upload so it looks a bit washed out)! The new damage system brings hinge physics, wheel detachment and improved mesh deformation. Refinements in the update after 2.07 will include tire puncturing, tire pressure, engine/powertrain damage and glass damage.

Trading Cards Available Soon! And a new team member!

Hey guys,
I have a couple of announcements. First of all, I'd like to personally welcome a new member of my team,

Joshua Whorton!

He will be managing some stuff within Steamworks (updating store info, screenshots, etc) as well as working in Unity with me on the game. Josh has worked on quite a few games on Steam including Redactem, a recently released 2d platformer. This is good news for both me and you guys because we can push out updates a lot faster than before. Josh will officially start work in Unity after 2.07 is released (which will be within the next few days, finalizing some stuff with the UI and graphics)

Secondly, Corona MotorSport will feature badges, trading cards, emojis and backgrounds!! I'm currently adding in the last few backgrounds and I'll submit them for approval shortly.

Also, racing AI will be present in 2.07b, the package was just updated recently and I don't want to delay this update any further than necessary. 2.07b will be released within 2-3 weeks of the release of 2.07 and will bring along some bugfixes and new features, including the Dubai International Circuit

Hey guys,
2.07 will be releasing soon, I'm waiting on a certain asset package for vehicle AI to be updated so I can add that in. 2.07 will feature a massive overhaul of the game!

What's Gonna Be New?



  • Graphics improvements - Updated Ambient Occlusion, reduced image effects (less image effects = less lag), updated color grading, tonemapping and bloom effects.

  • Updated Damage System: less glitchy effects, wheel displacement/locking (hitting a wall and causing the wheel to lock up and move away from its original location), tire overheating/popping, detachable parts (doors, fenders, etc), engine/transmission damage (hopefully I can get that to work)

    Side note - I've been messing around with an evaluation copy of a softbody physics solution for Unity thats currently in beta, If I can get it to work with Corona MS then I will purchase the license and add it in sometime in the near future :)

  • Monza track: lighting and performance fixes, fixed position of trees so that they no longer go through walls or float.
  • Dubai International Circuit - 60% done as of 8/3/16. Need to finish adding fencing, design grandstands and other props. Overall track layout is complete, there are a few bumps that need to be fixed.
  • Audio Reverb - simulates echo within track
  • MK4 Roadster - New engine and exhaust sounds, more modern rims and tires
  • Driver Model - eyes now face forward, blinking animation
  • Ability to look behind while in 1st/3rd person view
  • Racing AI with replay system (again, waiting on a update from the package developer)

Dubai Circuit Progress

Hey guys,

New circuit coming in Alpha 2.07!!

Hey guys!
Update 2.07 should be out by the end of June. I'm proud to announce that a new track will ship with 2.07, I don't have a name for it yet, it's based on a popular circuit in Dubai. The track will be F1 styled and will feature beautiful scenery and multiple layouts. So far, the tarmac is finished with a few touch-ups needed. I'm almost done adding in the curbs as well. Terrain (sand pits, grass, etc) and buildings are next on the list. Here are a few renderings of the main layout:


The circuit will have a marina and a beautiful glowing hotel (by now you can guess which track this one is based off)

2.06b is finally out! And a hotfix has just been released

Hey guys, 2.06b is finally out! Sorry for the delay, I have also just released a small patch that fixes issues with in-game fog, it worked fine in the editor but in the build the fog would have no effect on the sky system and would mess with the cloud shaders during a thunderstorm

What's New?



  • Completely redesigned main menu and car spawning system. UI improvements
  • Settings menu (experimental)
  • New Car - Merseda GT - high power German sportscar, full electric version (Merseda GT-E) will be released next update
  • Improved loading system
  • New selectable track layouts -
    Monza - Full circuit and short circuit
    Daytona - Oval layout and Road Course layout
  • Deleted more unused assets, reduced file size
  • New color grading shader/effect
  • New high quality Antialiasing method - SMAA - enabled by default, can be changed in menu
  • Dynamic Precomputed Global Illumination (Monza only, Daytona was having some issues) - improves graphics quality and performance, since its precomputed a new folder is present in the game files called GI that stores lightmapping for the scenes, please do not tamper with it, it will break the game
  • Hopefully* patched all visible holes and blocked off access to glitchy areas on the tracks
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes/optimizations
  • Improved overall framerates

  • Re-add Racing AI
  • Re-add stuntplane - fixed the issue with the landing gear, plane is bug free, currently designing a large map for the plane
