There will be many locations in Crimson Tactics that will have waterbodies - some shallow, some deep. Gameplay and visuals will change when these geographical features are present in different locations.

Shallow Water

All characters can move around in Shallow Water. Their feet will be slightly submerged in the water and their accuracy as well as agility will be somewhat decreased.

Deep Water

Characters cannot walk over Deep Water in normal circumstances. The only way to do is by applying the ‘Water Walk’ buff to characters. Characters that have used Water Walk will not have any part of their bodies submerged under the water, though their accuracy and agility will still be decreased.

Falling into Water

If characters are pushed onto a Deep Water tile and they do not have the Water Walk buff, they will immediately drown and be eliminated without any chance of being revived.

PS: The Water in this particular level is all Shallow Water. Some tiles have been modified to demonstrate the Deep Water Gameplay.

Gore Chaos - Bloombear Woods

The Bloombear Woods are a desolate and frightening location in Crimson Tactics. The overgrown thicket of tall trees and thick bushes hide a sinister force of creatures that Wendalle is not quite prepared to deal with.

As such, the soundtrack playing in these sections is loud, foreboding and represents a battle between overwhelming evil and a small force of heroes.

Minions of Madness - Waerlden Woods

Waerlden Woods is the name given to a small forest located near the heart of the region of Swozalta. The region has fallen into disrepair and lawlessness, leading to a congregation of bandits, marauders and mercenaries alike.

The quick and frenetic soundtrack symbolizes the fight the Player has on his hands when he enters this location. It has certain Middle-Eastern influences that provides a melodic tune as the Player strategizes and battles his way through this section.

The Tarot Card Minigame asks certain philosophical questions to the Player based on tarot cards from the Major Arcana. They are then presented with a quote based on the cards, a question and three answer choices. Based on their choices, the protagonist receives certain stat boosts and benefits.

The questions posed to the Player also give them a glimpse into the choices they may or may not be forced to make as Crimson Tactics progresses and serve as a starting point of the journey they are about to embark on.
