Survivors! We are aware that after updates, some players are having issues with temporary FPS drops upon first launching the game. We would like to explain why this issue persists and what steps we’re currently taking to solve it.
Due to the technical properties of the game engine and the DirectX 11 structure, shaders are compiled each time Crossout gets an update. This process takes place every time after an update and requires some time, which leads to FPS drops in the short term. Compilation of shaders is a very resource-demanding process that heavily depends on the performance capability of your GPU.
DirectX 11 does not allow the previously compiled shaders to be transferred to the new version of the game upon an update. This means that your graphics card must compile shaders each time the game updates.
We are currently working on the possibility of switching to DirectX 12, which does not have this issue. Transferring to the newer version of DirectX will also mean other technical benefits for the game.
We are grateful for your patience and understanding. Our team continues to work on making Crossout better and on making the player experience as comfortable as possible.
Good luck in battles!

Improved visual and sounds effects for the “Compiler” cannon.
Fixed a bug that caused incorrect functionality of the “To battle” button in the battle results window of the “Clan confrontation” mode.
The “El Diablo gorge” map is now available for battles with armoured aircraft in the “Game center”.
Corrected the firing sound of the “Athena” revolver.
This complex used to be an advanced laboratory of “Waderkvarn”. The corporation’s engineers were developing a revolutionary technology here — the transfer of human consciousness into mechanical shells. The project could have changed the fate of civilization, but Crossout put a stop to it. The equipment shut down, the buildings collapsed, and the ambitious plans remained on the blueprints forever.
Decades later, Aris discovered the laboratory using a module on a tower in New Fuji. He intends to complete the work of his creators. To rebuild the complex, the AI has formed an alliance with the Founders. Their engineers are clearing rubble and fixing the equipment, but access to key facilities remains closed to them. Aris and the Ravagers are rebuilding the central part of the laboratory on their own.
While the Founders are working, the Khaganate and the Syndicate are preparing for war. They haven’t forgotten how the Ravagers invaded their lands, and they believe the construction site and Aris himself pose a new threat. Attacks are becoming more frequent, and now the Founders have to not only build but also defend the facility. Some believe that an alliance with Aris is the only chance to save humanity. Others are convinced that this is a mistake that could destroy the Wasteland completely

When the season level is increased, the reward is issued automatically.
You can still complete the regular daily and weekly challenges to gain badges and other resources.
New map “Cradle of mind”
The location is a symmetrical battle zone. The spawn points are arranged so that opponents meet and battle primarily on the left side of the map. Here there are hills, shelters and underground passages designed for battles. The central part of the map consists of tunnels and gives room for tactical maneuvers, allowing you to quickly retreat or stealthily drive into the rear of the enemy and arrange a surprise attack.
The key feature is the base, which is located closer to the edge of the map. This base placement allows you to avoid the “circular movement” of enemies that is characteristic of some other locations. There are also a lot of cover points on this side of the map. They create favorable conditions for maneuvers and battle at close and medium range. On the edges of this zone there are elevated areas suitable for sniper positions.
The multi-levelled nature of the new location is not only useful for the variety of gameplay, but is also important from a strategic point of view: taking positions on a hill gives the team a significant advantage in battle, since you can clearly see almost the entire map from the height of the second level.
The new map is available in “Encounter” missions, as well as battles with all types of movement parts and capsule capture modes.
Clan Wars, Clan Confrontation and Battle for uranium

“Taming the dragon” PvE brawl
Attention! The brawl will be available from April 17 to April 23 inclusive!
“Taming the dragon” is a PvE brawl for 4 players, with the familiar mechanic of resisting waves of enemies.
A group of players is given a limited amount of time, which can be replenished by destroying enemies and avoiding the destruction of their car. Additional time is also granted for completing a wave.
If one player’s vehicle gets destroyed, the teammates have the ability to restore the destroyed player back to the battle faster than waiting for the player to be automatically respawned. To do this, you need to get to the place where the player was destroyed and wait for the special recovery scale to fill up.
Among your opponents, you will encounter enemies with a variety of roles. To win and survive as long as possible, you need to take their features into account:
Berserker — increased damage, but high vulnerability.
Cryomancer — uses cryogenic and energy weapons. Leaves a puddle of refrigerant after being destroyed.
Rocker — increases the damage of all allies in a certain radius around himself.
Chief — after his destruction, all allies in this wave receive a permanent bonus to the damage they deal.
Tank — has powerful armour due to increased damage resistance of his parts.
Communicator — calls for reinforcements some time after the player enters the detection zone.
Hunter — when dealing damage to players, he leaves a mark on them that increases the damage dealt to them. Destroying the Hunter removes the mark.
Defender — creates an aura of invulnerability on all allies within a certain radius around himself.
The final amount of rewarded resources (copper and plastic) depends on how many waves you survive and how many points you score.
Special challenges and rewards

Miscellaneous
Added a number of locations to the “Bedlam” game mode rotation, as well as into the suitable game modes in the Game center.
Solving the “speed inflation” issue
In recent years, the number of ways to boost the speed of the cabin has significantly increased in the game. This led to “devaluing” of speed and increase in the efficiency of armoured cars that use wheels and medium or heavy cabins. Those builds are able to use full bonuses to speed, while builds with light cabins have a maximum speed limit (120 km/h) and other types of movement parts also have their own speed limitations. We have made a number of changes to solve this problem.
Changes to cabins’ speed values and bonuses
The key change is reworking the base speed values for cabins and some of their speed bonuses.
In order to decrease the difference between the base speeds of cabins and their maximum possible speed values, we reduced some speed bonuses from various sources.
Speed bonuses
We then reworked the base speeds of the cabins so that armoured cars with light cabins (with engines) would have about the same maximum speed as before the changes, and builds with medium and heavy cabins would become slower.
Base cabin speeds
Maximum speed
To ensure that the reduction of medium and heavy cabin speeds is not excessive, we increased the maximum speed of armoured vehicles from 120 to 130 km/h.
This change will provide more opportunities to use the light armoured cars (mostly with high PS). In conjunction with the other changes, the cabin types would be more distinct in terms of speed.
Movement parts with speed limits
Engines will now have a new parameter: bonus to the movement parts maximum speed, thanks to which all armoured vehicles that have an engine and movement parts with a speed limit will become slightly faster if the speed of the cabin allows it. The bonus will keep such movement parts relevant in the context of the maximum speed increase, and will allow for more diverse builds in terms of engines and resulting maximum speeds. Upgrading engines’ speed bonuses will affect this new parameter as well.
Bonuses to the movement parts maximum speed
Additional changes
All heavy cabins
The effect of mass on acceleration increased by 9%.
Comment: the change will slightly reduce the acceleration of heavy armoured vehicles.
All wheels
Increased the maximum penalty to the turn angle of the rear wheels. Previously it was 50% and was achieved by installing 2 rear ST wheels, now it is 75% when 6 or more rear ST wheels are installed (the penalty remains exactly the same for 2 wheels).
Comment: the change will add additional differences to the turning radius of armoured vehicles with different number of wheels.
Golden Eagle
Changed perk: “Increases damage protection of weapons (except for melee weapons), the bonus depends on the number of movement parts installed. Maximum bonus is 30% with 2 movement parts, minimum bonus is 10% with 6 movement parts. The bonus does not apply with more than 6 movement parts or none.”
Comment: this perk makes the engine a more versatile solution without being tied to a specific movement part type, while still making it an effective choice to be used with most current armoured cars equipped with “Golden Eagle”.
Colossus
Durability increased from 333 to 415 pts.
Comment: the current durability of the “Colossus” is lower than its predecessor. The change will keep it relevant at medium PS in the context of “Golden Eagle” change.
Yokozuna
Perk speed bonus increased from 10% to 15%.
Hammerfall
Energy consumption reduced from 11 to 10 pts.
PS reduced from 2200 to 2000.
Breaker
Energy consumption reduced from 11 to 10 pts.
PS reduced from 3300 to 3000.
Comment: partial reversal of changes that were caused by the heavy vehicles with wheels meta and became redundant after the maximum speed changes. Changes to other parts will be made as part of the regular balance changes after the major speed changes are released.
Omamori
The charge now recovers automatically 6 sec. after the last instance of damage taken.
Comment: after a number of changes and the introduction of “Jackie”, the module has become redundant. The change brings back the original mechanics of the perk, but with longer recharge time.
When saving a blueprint from the exhibition, you now have the choice of saving the original blueprint or a version with only the parts you have in storage.

The Founders are in play again. New features of the major March update. Part 3
Hello, survivors! Let’s continue talking about the new features of the upcoming Founders season. In this entry, we’ll share some information about the legendary shotgun and epic wheels, as well as reveal the new map and something very special: animated effects for your player profile. Let’s take a look!
We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves.
Legendary shotgun
The Founders love unusual shotguns, and the famous “Parser” is a prime example of that. This time, they have a curious double-barreled one for you. It would be perfect to fight off hordes of demons.
The new shotgun makes two controlled shots before reloading. As you deal damage, it charges the perk that will allow you to deal massive damage to the enemy.
When the perk is charged, the shotgun switches to the second shooting mode, in which you fire from both barrels at the same time. You can take several shots and reload in this mode. By the end of this barrage, the enemy will have little durability left: the perk not only allows firing from both barrels, but also increases the damage and impulse of the weapon. You will be pleased as your opponents find themselves in the world of hurt; just don’t miss.
Epic medium wheels
Have you ever dreamt of looking down on your enemies? And we’re not talking about literally looking down from an armoured aircraft. The Founders have a way of rising above everyone else with the new special epic wheels.
The new movement parts can rise and lower as you command:
the standard “high” suspension mode can help you with viewing the battlefield from a higher point, and also increases your resistance to all incoming damage. Your cabin will get a penalty to power in this mode, but knowing when to switch between modes will allow you to bypass this limitation.
the “low” suspension mode has your armoured car at the same level as the other typical vehicles, but the power of the cabin becomes significantly higher. This is a perfect opportunity for those who like firing from a long range and quickly changing positions when trouble comes their way.

Animated profile frames and updated game activities UI
The upcoming update will bring a rework of the game activities interface. We won’t spoil much, but here is an example of our vision for the leaderboards:
There will be many various improvements to the interface, for example:
The ability to quickly switch between leagues, search by players’ nicknames and clan names;
The ability to click your own nickname and make the list center on it with no more scrolling to find yourself in the table;
The “Battle for uranium” description is now located in the “Clan” tab instead of the “Select mode” window.
And that’s not all! The full list of changes will be published in the patch notes.
We are also introducing a new type of profile customization: animated effects! Those beautiful accessories are not so easy to get. The effects will be given as a reward for high positions in the leaderboard of the “Battle for uranium” event.
The frames will not stay with the winners forever, and each season will have different effects among the trophies. The process is as follows: take a high place in the event and receive the frame; but when the next “Battle for uranium” ends, the frame will disappear from your account. To constantly display a gorgeous profile design, you need to steadily hold high positions and prove your status.
Here is an example of a player profile with the effect:
Please note that these are not the final versions of visual elements yet. Some elements may change during the development process.
New map
The secret facility hides something even more secret and very important for the future of the entire Wasteland and the history of the Crossout world. You can learn more about the new battlefield from the upcoming location panorama, which will be published after the release of the update.
But we can still reveal one fact: this map will be the first truly two-level battlefield in Crossout! This entry concludes the series of posts about the new season, and you can find out about all the rewards and new features on our livestream before the update, which will take place next week. Stay tuned and good luck in battles!
