After all, the difficulty for Dead Age 2 is designed for all players. There are three levels, and for those who find the game too easy after all, they can set themselves new challenges. Beware of too heavy settings. ;)

    Improvements

  • added survival options for a new run
  • changed bribe mechanic and values on bridges to match the bribe mechanic at outpost entries


    Bugfixes

  • fixed that characters playing guarding idle animation (e.g. from "Return Fire" skill) would only use the return fire animation for their attacks instead of the correct attack animation
  • fixed AP behaving not correctly when stunned
  • fixed a typo in French localization
  • fixed that using "Liquid Courage" skill would qualify as a "ranged" attack and therefore unnecessarily fail the arena master challenge random event
  • fixed that the bridge guard bribing event with a hostile faction didn't work as intended when failed or having insufficient money

In this update for Dead age 2 small improvements and bugfixes were made, which were discussed in the community forum. For example, we reduced the chance of ambush attacks on day. We are also slighty reduced travel encounters in unfriendly country. But remember, if you solve the area quest in each area, the area becomes friendly and then the chances of Random Encounters are much lower and you even get some friendly events.

    Improvements

  • removed the "Development Build" label
  • added scrap to the goods of merchants in all Independent bases, added more scrap in scrap locations (We had community discussions that scrap was a little too low in the world)
  • added resources and seeds to the crafting material filter in inventories
  • slightly reduced the chances of random encounters while traveling
  • slightly reduced the chance of scavenger/punk attacks on the camp during day on normal difficulty
  • speech bubbles in combat regarding knock back success will now only appear if the attack threw the target back without obstructions


    Bugfixes

  • stunned and knocked out characters will only regain a bit stamina / AP in combat. However we will optimize this feature next week.
  • fixed that the tutorial could get stuck after the very first fight when taking the loot

    Small Improvements

  • increased the doctor's HP from the Bodyguard side quests / Office Dungeon a bit and also Nathalies's HP
  • improved handling of Tessa's quest when the player doesn't completes Lana's request and lets the time limit run out
  • Improved turn order when a new enemy wave starts
  • he Fatty's Sucker Punch attack now requires one round of charging so the player has time to prepare
  • updates to French and Russian localization
  • added a new dialogue for the leader room of the office dungeon base when there are no dialogue options left
  • the level up window will now wait instead of showing up when there is a transition between a cutscene and another dialogue
  • slightly adjusted the background graphic for the pinned quest area
  • during a cut scene some of the UI elements will now fade out as well


    Bugfixes

  • fixed that one of merchant Joe's dialogue options regarding the Merchant guild was visible even if you already encountered the guild
  • fixed Denise's dialog asking if the player ever visited the Independent HQ was not correctly checking that state
  • fixed that in some circumstances the level up display could show a level up for the same character a second time although only having one actual level up
  • fixed a crash in combat that could occur when a Tough Brawler was killed by walking into one of player's traps
  • fixed that wolf enemies could visually get stuck at the back row when they got knocked back and stunned at the same time
  • fixed that the animation for climbing down the ladder of the hunting stand sometimes was misaligned when aborting the job
  • fixed that during the cutscene when chapter two of the story begins after the mutation fight there is a short moment the player was able interact with the menus when they shouldn't
  • fixed inconsistent spelling of Nathalie's name in several dialogues
  • fixed that the cooldown timer for a turret skill could get stuck if the turret was summoned in a fight before inside the same scene and that combat had ended with the turret still alive
  • fixed a bug where it was possible to skip the dialogue and start combat action even before the enemies arrived during mansion or shed entrance fights
  • fixed a crash that could occur when 2 enemies try to attack and the first one causes the second one to go KO by triggering a explosive trap

In this update for Dead Age 2 there are a lot of improvements to the 3AP skills, making them a bit more powerful and useful. Most of the time you will use the 3AP skills in bigger fights.
We now believe that all skills are useful, e.g. the jumping strike which now cannot be blocked as a melee skill. Also, for example, the defensive skills such as Give Cover or Return Fire, which have now become somewhat stronger.

    Skill Improvements

    Blunt

  • Wary Stance: damage of counter attacks increased 80% -> 100%
  • Jump Attack: now has 100% -> 90% accuracy but can not be blocked by enemy block chance

    Blade

  • Sensitive Strike: increased damage 210% -> 220% and 230% -> 250% with bonus
  • Blade Storm: increased damage 140% -> 150%


    Support

  • Splinter Grenade: impact damage increased 120% -> 130%
  • Heavy Turret's attacks: increased damage by 5 (as perception value)
  • Explosive Trap: Reduced chance for Stun 75% -> 50% but added 50% chance for Dented Armor

    Pistol

  • Give Cover: added 50% chance of causing Wounded when executing the counter attack

    Rifle

  • Return Fire: added 30% chance of causing Wounded when executing the counter attack (but 3 shots)
  • Hail of Bullets: increased damage: 95% -> 100%

    Shotgun

  • Devastating Shot: increased the normal damage 300% -> 320%
  • Frantic Fire: increased damage 130% -> 140%

    Other Improvements

  • Defence is now halved when you change the line to avoid endless DEfense tactics with 3 people.
  • removed the prompt for the revert action in skill and medals/upgrade menu
  • when trying to equip a weapon to character that doesn't have the required talent learned it will now deny the action and show a warning instead
  • changed Tessa's quest so that you can still try to save Lana's friend if you want after healing Tessa


    Bugfixes

  • fixed i or I character in texts was converted to İ on OS with Turkish locale settings
  • updated InControl plugin for Unity to a newer version (could potentially resolve problems some users are experiencing when they have devices like pedals or thrust controller plugged in)
  • fixed a crash that could occur when 2 enemies try to attack and the first one causes the second one to go KO by triggering a explosive trap
  • fixed a crash that could occur in combat when Jack called the small hound
  • fixed no icon at target location showing during the briefing dialog of the savior side job
  • fixed that the target location for the Destroyer side job would be a different point every time one declines the job and retries it
  • fixed that in some cases side jobs could still lead to outposts of the enemy faction in chapter two of the story
  • fixed some nodes south of Freedom City West having missing connections after the tunnel got cleared
  • fixed party walks away to the right instead to the left on the bridges of the Army faction
  • fixed that the sound effect of using a medkit in combat was not affected by the effect volume setting
  • fixed a crash that could occur when 2 enemies try to attack and the first one causes the second one to go KO by triggering a explosive trap

Thank you for your support, because this way the (smaller) bugs will be fixed faster. :-)
Luckily our only programmer is very fast, so we got some stuff together this week.

  • fixed a crash that could occur during the merchant escort event when using Spanish language
  • changed entrance to Army HQ to not require the armor or reputation ONCE you talked to Charles
  • fixed that merchant Joe was still available in the outpost after certain story events
  • fixed that Steven and Hank in the final dungeon events would not have the same stats they had when being part of player's camp members
  • fixed that the game could get stuck if Jack was knocked out during a fight
  • fixed some occasions of side jobs that didn't make sense because of the faction alliance in chapter 2 of the story
  • fixed that side jobs from the outpost in Snake Desert could have the wrong quest giver depending on story decisions by the player
  • fixed a crash that could occur when clicking the right mouse button quickly while reentering the base in the office dungeon
  • fixed that the loot event with the injured person on the ground could get stuck when clicking through the result dialogues too fast
  • improved animations for Crawler when reacting to buff damage and while KO
  • improved Weapon Test Event: the pistol given to the player will now be called: "Experimental Beretta" during the test combat
  • fixed issues with progress count display of some quest tasks during the final dungeon
  • fixed a crash that occurred when leaving the game back to main menu during a loot event scenario
  • Suit zombie will no longer call reinforcement when the hit kills it
  • the Smuggler merchant portrait offering subway travel will now be exchanged in case the player made smugglers his enemy in chapter 2 of the story
  • improved handling of corrupted save files in the main menu when trying to load a game (if a backup is loadable it will replace the save with that backup otherwise the file is removed)
  • right clicking while the mouse is over an enemy during target selection will now go one step back instead of confirming the attack
  • when escorting a prisoner for the cop side job they will now show a speech bubble instead of a broken dialogue when loosing to much health
  • when killing a Tough Brawler the old body will now disappear as the Crawler is spawned in its place
  • fixed a bug where 2 enemies could summon a reinforcement on to the same slot
  • fixed that a character doing the hunting job in camp could sometimes visually try to climb up in the air through the hunting stand
  • fixed that the heavy armor of armored enemies didn't break properly if they got damaged by walking into a trap
  • fixed brief error logs when leaving the game back to main menu while in a scene with thunderstorm effects
  • fixed a bug where survivors could behave strangely when leaving the camp, then entering the final dungeon and then going into the first fight with them
  • fixed main survivors that were fighting with you while they didn't really belong to your party didn't properly show up in the combat inventory screen
  • fixed that some nodes on the map southern of Freedom City West didn't show their correct area color
  • fixed that combat equipment is sometimes visible spawning in the ground for one frame

In this latest version of Dead Age 2 after player feedback we fixed problems with some quests. This includes the U.S. Army quest, which now offers a more obvious second option to complete the quest even without enough U.S. Army reputation.
Buying reputation is another option, but it is only available in certain situations of some special quests.
Furthermore, a nastiness has been improved in the final dungeon, I marked the entry with a warning spoiler.

Bugfixes & small improvements


  • added some additional quest tasks to help the player in some situations where the next step in the story was not so obvious (Lydia's Alliance Quest, Getting into the Army's HQ, Kira's first request in Forest Grave, Trevor's second request to find Terence's stash)
  • when entering the final dungeon, open quests will no be moved to failed since the player can't finish them anymore
  • when entering the final dungeon the resources and items stolen from the player will now be given back at a later point (although this doesn't work for saves that are already in the dungeon)
  • changed the combats in the cave of Fernando's Quest and Mary's Quest to be no ambush combat
  • fixed that it was not possible to correctly choose non enemy target slots in combat with controller / gamepad
  • changed hardcore difficulty back from +15% to +20% enemy strength
  • fixed a bug where a character could enter a strange walking animation during camp defense if he was infected and then healed with Zomdex
  • fixed that improving the bed room in camp did not provide any XP for the worker
  • fixed that the defense barricades' HP didn't adjust with the level of the defense post room
  • reduced the upgrade costs for the defense post room
  • fixed a bug where after startup of the game and on first time loading a save with a defense combat the first wave could have wrong enemies (caused by some data not being fully prepared and therefore the loading time had to be increased slightly)
  • fixed a possible crash when doing the weapon test challenge from an encounter

Thanks to all who helped us , there were many bug descriptions from the community. Without you we would have taken much longer! :)

Of course we will continue to fix all bugs that are reported after release. Dead Age 2 is our baby!!!
You will still see the "Developer Version" in the game. This is an automatic feature of the engine that helps us to find crashes accurately.

I think we will manage to reach 80% together with you, In Early Access we started roughly with *cough* 45% ...
After that we fixed and improved countless of features and then we climbed steeply upwards to 79%. :)

  • fixed that the player could get stuck when entering and clearing the mine dungeon with 0 minutes left for the day and then being forced to retreat to camp afterwards
  • fixed a bug in Snake Desert
  • fixed a bug where quest Total Destruction could spawn a second time
  • fixed wrong dialogue when completing a map node faction war quest
  • fixed Isa is already assignable in camp when she have to arrive there first on next day
  • fixed a bug where some location nodes on the map like bridges behaved incorrectly and blocked the player although they should be able to pass
  • fixed a bug where the threat reduction quests in the south would ask the player to clear 0 locations
  • improvements for German, English and French localization
  • fixed dialogues with Steven in the Smuggler HQ not working properly
  • reduced the amount of soldiers the player has to fight for the Soldier side job
  • fixed a bug where the new "Old Friends" achievement did not recognize saved counter progress from previous runs
  • fixed that the leader had an empty dialogue left active when finishing their quest in the office dungeon
  • fixed that Hank appeared twice during some events in the final dungeon if he is assigned as a party member
  • fixed that the Cop side job could not be assigned while Jane's quest requirement was active
  • fixed that the game could get stuck when trying to finish the Cop side job for Independents or Smugglers
  • fixed that the romancing quests would not fail when the partner died during the quest
  • fixed that visiting quest related locations or very generic locations like crossing a bridge contributed towards the threat reduction quest progression
