Dead Age 2 is on Early Access. The release for the next big storyline update has a small delay. Release date of the last big update is 5.3.2021. Final Release date of the whole game is the 12.3.2021.
We need a bit more time to find all bugs in the new southern area.

In this current update there is the last new main character potrait. Personally I love him. :)



Many people have asked for the formation button, so here it is.
You can now set one party member that starts in the front row. The formation button is set on the map next to the portraits.
But there is still the option to leave all three characters behind, in case you just want to empty your magazines. ;)

Dead Age 2 Update #23 Bugfixes, Balancing & French Loca

Dead age 2 is currently on a 45% sale. The release for the next big storyline update is planned for the end of February.
In this update there are again some bug fixes and an adjustment of the balancing after a 6-10 hours of play. After discussions with players from the community, Dead Age 2 becomes a bit harder in the 2nd half of the story. Problem was that the characters were significantly higher in level than the desert / mountain zombies and zombie mutations. (Level 10-11) Now it will be so that you have to play much longer to reach, for example, level : 12. Level 13 or Level 14 would be too easy against them.
So everything remains fair, but it should be a stronger challenge. Feel free to give me your feedback if you haven't reached the desert yet. Use the link: https://steamcommunity.com/app/951430/discussions/
For players with lategame saves, we will also adjust the new storyline that follows the desert later in the end of February. So that the enemies have a better level.

Then a big "merci" to Pauline Forestier who has improved French Translation. So every french player can check the nice text. :-)

  • improved behavior of borderless mode on setups with multiple monitors - the game won't minimize itself as soon as it looses focus
  • improved behavior of fullscreen mode on setups with multiple monitors - the mouse cursor movement is now limited to the game screen boundaries
  • fixed some wave count issues that could occur when two wave combats happened right after each other
  • fixed that the game got stuck when a random encounter between two locations gave enough resources to cancel the penalty for active jobs with missing food/water

Dead Age 2 is available on Early Access. The work on the quests for the south (last story update) is going into the 2nd half. We have implemented the quests, but now the big debugging and a lot of fine tuning begins. The release for the big update is planned for the end of February.
We work some days but also on more bugfixes we found or you reported. Thank you for this important support!

Bugfixes


  • fixed a crash that occured when a character with a counter buff wanted to counter while being knocked out
  • fixed a possible stuck situation in the "Dynamite for the tunnel" quest where Trevor could show a dialogue choice too early
  • fixed that placing a turret was triggering enemy return-fire skills
  • fixed that Lance's quest could eventually start even if he had already died before
  • fixed a crash that occurred during the dialogues of the sleeping scavenger camp event when the party only has two members
  • reduced the reduction that rifle attacks receive against high armor enemies for armor piercing ammunition
  • all characters that are protected by a trap now show a respective buff tool tip instead only the one spawning the trap
  • added an abort option to the popup that informs you when assigning a job with insufficient food or water supplies
  • fixed that the depressed penalty for doing a job without enough food or water lasted more than one day

Bugfixes


  • fixed that the level up window and dialogue would sometimes pop up in unfitting situations like cutscenes
  • fixed that knocked out characters could play speech bubbles in combat
  • fixed description for Blinded debuff e.g. used in smoke bomb in Chinese localization
  • fixed a crash when Crone zombie is hit by shock grenade
  • fixed that a civilian encounter could get stuck when one of your characters dies during that fight
  • fixed that in some situations with 0 minutes left on the clock for the day the player could still execute one move on the map
  • fixed that the injured status (HP lower than 30%) on party characters was not always visually shown when entering a scenario
  • ixed some inconsistencies with the display of borderless / fullscreen options and resolution when exiting the game and restarting it
  • fixed that in some cases Fernando's quest could still start even though he had died in combat shortly before
  • fixed that traps could hurt the wrong side of the combat
  • fixed that enemy traps were placed in an offset position visually
  • added a new line to the description of armor piercing ammunition
  • fixed that the scale of map was off when switching resolutions while it was active (nodes were not where they appeared)

Bugfixes

    fixed that SSAO and shadow settings could be internally set to low while overall quality was set to "Fantastic"
    -fixed error logs occurring during the injured female soldier event and threat reducing quests on the map in some languages
    -fixed that the tooltip in the lower right corner on the map showed wrong/inaccurate threat levels
    -fixed NRE when trying to leave to main menu right when your party moves out of a combat scene
    -fixed crashes that could occur during the running civilians event when the sequence progressed without the player clicking through the dialogues
    -fixed that the behavior of the "back to main menu" button could be influenced by the "new run" button if that was used before
    -improved the search for scoutable locations via the comms station so the number of revealed points will more closely match the promised amount

On Sale 45% Dead Age 2 Update 19: Bubbles and Replacement Survivors

Dear Survivors,

Dead Age 2 is currently on sale with 45% off for Christmas. Maybe give a friend a festive treat with some angry zombies?

This new content update includes additional speech bubbles in combat for party members and as requested by the community we have included "Replacement Survivors". These four survivors are non-story characters and replace a story survivor if one dies. All you have to do is encounter them in battle.

However, the final story update will not be released until February. There have been a few delays and in addition we are adding another Wishlist Milestone: an improved Final Boss Dungeon that needs a bit more time. In exchange, there will be some interesting ideas in the final hours of Dead Age 2. :)

There are still a few thousand votes missing for this additional content, but we believe that we will get these votes by the time of the content update in February.

Dead Age 2 Update 18: Engine Update & Bugfixes

Dead Age 2 is available on Early Access. Today we made an engine update to possibly fix some problems that are related to internal graphics cards.
Usually you need a Nvidia or AMD card with graphics memory to play the game.
For the people who had problems, let me know in the forum or the comments if something has changed for the better.

Balancing

  • changed xp reward for crafting and camp jobs. the job tier you assign (eg gardener 1 - 3 or crafting a pistol of tier 1 - 3) will now determine the amount of xp rewarded (50 - 150)
  • cooldowns for turret skills will now start ticking down only after the turret was destroyed. It was otherwise too strong compared to other skills


Bugfixes

    -updated Unity to 2019.4.16 (LTS) to hopefully get rid of some random crashes on integrated graphic cards
    -fixed that the tutorial was forced to be skipped as soon as one attempted to play it
    -fixed wrong positions for NPCs in travel event with helping bodyguards
    -fixed that random encounters while traveling appeared much less than intended
    -fixed that when multiple characters died because of the same reason Jack would talk about that cause multiple times
    -updated some localisations
    -updated credits to account for the Spanish - Spain localization's contribution
    -changed xp reward for crafting and camp jobs. the job tier you assign (eg gardener 1 - 3 or crafting a pistol of tier 1 - 3) will now determine the amount of xp rewarded (50 - 150)
    -added a second backup save "Backup#b" that is written to every other save point since the current backup could be corrupted just as the normal save if something went wrong (which is not really useful as a backup)
    -improved some melee skills of NPCs so they no longer warp back after hitting the enemy with their fist / kick attacks
    -fixed that the number hotkeys in combat were usable while a dialogue was playing which is inconsistent with the fact that mouse can't trigger any attacks during dialogues. this could lead to some broken situations in quests or tutorial sequences
    -adjusted the skip tutorial button behavior to only show skip by default if tutorial was finished once
    -changed quest markers on map to use a different font color when showing the pinned quest
    -fixed that the ammo crafting yield bonus for survival talent level 9 was not working
    -fixed some inconsistent values in the descriptions of talent levels
    -fixed a crash that occurred when going back to main menu when using a controller while the map is visible

Dead Age 2 - Big Update 17: Threat Barometer and new Events

Dead Age 2 is on sale in Early Access. In this third Roadmap Update (Update 17) we have included the Threat Barometer. The barometer shows more information about the threat and the current area where the party is located. Depending on the level of the threat, other travel events will also take place.



The Wishlist Event offers additional events for Dead Age 2, you can check the changelist to see where the changes are. Some new events will be added in the last big Roadmap Update.

-fixed that antidote spray did not work against complex poison and in some cases buff particles would stay active although their buff was removed
-fixed that in some cases after an event in a combat scene, NPCs in the party would end up not holding their weapon and not playing any attack animations

First things first: Now available here on Steam is the "Dead Age 1+2 Bundle", which includes both games and the soundtrack of Dead Age 2! For all owners of Dead Age and Dead Age 2 the soundtrack is also available separately HERE.

Currently we are still a few weeks before the next big Dead Age 2 update. With it we will present you 10 new rogue-like events and the Threat Barometer.

For the time being, we’ve got something small but nice for our customers. We have new faces for Asian and Latin characters, and two new hair styles. We have added keyboard shortcuts to the combat system, higher resolutions should be possible (in 16:9) and some bugfixes.



Don’t forget the last big update which included helmets. You can find them in boss battles or in secret places for which you need chip cards or lockpicks.

  • added 3 new face styles and 2 new haircut types for the main character
  • the combat GUI buttons can now be triggered by pressing the corresponding numbers on the keyboard
  • enabled bigger resolutions than 1920x1080 but the game will still prefer this as the default resolution


Balancing

  • changed the rifle skill "Burning Salvo" to target just a row of enemies instead of all enemies
  • mutated zombies have received more HP, so they are a little more dangerous
  • changed "Small Hound" and "Tiger" skill to be only usable when the corresponding story quest has been reached


Bugfixes

  • changed the item stack sell slider to snap to whole numbers (more noticeable for smaller stack values)
  • fixed that the camp background sounds were audible during the loading screen and when standing at any point on the map while looking into the inventory etc.
  • fixed inconsistencies in the translation of some job and skill descriptions
  • fixed the faction label, which was too short in character creation screen
  • fixed a bug where combat could get stuck if certain enemies were hit while being stunned
  • fixed a crash when loading a save at the medic station of Army HQ

Dead Age 2 - Update 15: Healing, Helmets & Quest Tracker

Dead Age 2 has a new update. In this finished milestone we have some new features. You can now heal party members but also NPCs.
The quest tracker can help you to track a specific quest. Additional hats and helmets offer even more variety. You can find them in boss battles or in secret places where you need chip cards or lockpicks. The merchants also have the chance to sell these special items.

using healing items:
-you can now select a target for medical items during combat (via the quick medical selection) or use RMB on a medical item to use it on the active character like before

-we added 8 new head gear items that can be found in the world. there is also a chance that a merchant at an outpost has one of these new items in a shop refill delivery


Bugfixes

-reduced amount of birds / butterflies in scenes on low or medium graphic settings
-disabled ambient occlusion post effect in scenes on low graphic settings
-fixed that the combat gui could reset while already being displayed when the active character was just reacting to a counter hit
-fixed that the combat could get stuck when your small hound was stunned and just before waking up and doing its turn got knocked back by an enemy attack
-some smaller fixes for controller support
-adjusted loot drop for some boss fights
-fixed a crash that occurred during game start on linux systems
-fixed a bug where the quest location for the “save the spy” quest could become unresponsive if you didn’t enter it at the first occasion
-fixed a bug where entrance events of shed locations would assume you have no keys / lockpicks although you have them
-fixed “reset” button mapping in character upgrade screen
-fixed a rare bug where a zombie could become “invincible” with negative HP if killed by another zombie skill (we made it into a crash condition and now finally found the cause of it)
