Hello, Deadsiders.
The 0.2.8.2 hotfix is live.
It fixes some game crashes as well as the issue that allowed weapons to be duplicated. Servers may be temporarily unavailable: the game client needs to be updated.
⚠️ IMPORTANT! ⚠️ Please be sure to report any exploits you notice, it really helps us make the game a more friendly environment for all players. You can submit reports via email at deadsidecontact@gmail.com or via private messages on our social media channels. You can also send a DM to Lucas#3203 on Discord.
Please, keep in mind that exploit usage (including weapon dupes) is punished with a week-long ban. In case of a repeated violation, the duration of the ban is extended to a month.
Attention floating bases owners!
All bases built with the usage of this exploit are to be wiped with all the contents. All base owners and players registered on those bases are to receive week-long bans.
Celebrating The 2 Year Anniversary With a Special Gift!
Hey, Deadsiders!
April 14th marks the 2 year anniversary of Deadside.
2 years ago we launched the game in Early Access on Steam. We wish all of you (and ourselves) a Happy Birthday! On this occasion, we have prepared a special gift for you.
For months, your ration has consisted mainly of boring stuff like canned beans and porridges. Knowing that, we at Bad Pixel decided to pamper you with a dessert: a delicious post-apocalyptic birthday cake. However, evil scavengers (bots, basically) intercepted the cake delivery. Kill the AI-controlled bad guys to drop yourself a sweet slice out of them.
[th][/th] [th]The cake is a new in-game item that replenishes the satiety meter, just like regular food does.[/th]
Deadside came a long way since 2020. In 2021, Bad Pixel joined the tinyBuild family to enhance the publishing and marketing efforts. We also joined forces with Demagic Games which allows us to consistently improve the development process. The constant growth of the project is ensured by the support from the community which is obviously invaluable for us. It doesn't matter if you have hundreds of hours under your belt or you just created your first character—you are a part of the community which is the most important thing that we as a team have. Thank you so much for motivating and inspiring us. All this would absolutely not be possible without you. And to make this all sounds less formal—keep being salty guys, we love the pressure! But please show some appreciation too sometimes.
Happy Birthday, Deadsiders!
⚠️ IMPORTANT! ⚠️ We rolled out Hotfix 0.2.8.X which fixes the error that caused the game to crash in some occasions. During the deployment of the hotfix, the servers may be temporarily unavailable. The game client needs to be updated.

Coming Soon: New Locations, Redesigned Map, Base Wipe
Come in, deadsiders!
We have important news.
Very soon we'll be ready to present the new Update 0.2.8, which will bring a series of significant changes to Deadside. Let's talk about just some of them in this post. Off we go.
New locations
Settlements, stations, fishing villages—we've decided to make the world of the game more varied by adding several new locations. The balance of the respawn system has been reworked, and as a result there are new respawn points available in some locations. The reworking of world map will have a significant effect on tactics and serve as the basis for the introduction of gameplay possibilities for both PvP and PvE.
Landscape imrovements
In the upcoming update, we are planning on applying significant changes to the landscapes of some territories, as well as adding more rivers cutting across the mainland.
⚠️ Warning! ⚠️
The rivers are bursting their banks! That means that base wipe is coming: all players' bases will be wiped along with their contents. This includes storage crates that can be kept outside bases. Please save your gear and supplies in safe zones before the next update rolls out. And don't forget to help your neighbors, even if they disagree.
Technical maintenance will be carried out at 07:30am PST/02:30pm UTC today, the servers may be unavailable within an hour after the start of the works. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Unstable server performance
Hello survivors
At this moment, we are getting several reports of server crashes and degraded performances. The developers are aware of it and are working to resolve the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
0.2.7: Respawn Beacons are here
Hello, friends
Update 0.2.6 is now live on all servers!
Friends, in this update we have prepared a lot of new and interesting stuff for you! First of all, we will tell you about the main changes that are awaiting you.
Respawn beacons
Cannot be placed in the vicinity of any base. Only one beacon is available (can be replaced by the next one) and can be destroyed by other players. Cooldown after installation or respawn is 5 minutes. Special components are needed to craft a beacon.
Search for hidden stashes. The Bearing Finder is used to search for stashes containing various items, including a component for crafting the Respawn beacon. Hidden stashes can be dug out with a shovel. Currently, the shovels are intended only for digging out hidden stashes and will be available in the inventory immediately after each respawn. The shovel included in the Support Pack will have a custom skin, designed exclusively for the pack. The search for hidden stashes is a simple yet fascinating process! In order to find useful items:
take the bearing finder in hand
press LMB to activate it
move around the world with the bearing finder turned on in different directions to search for a signal
when the signal is detected, the device will start making a sound and the lamp will flash.
The more often the light flashes and the louder the sound signal, the closer you are to the target. The signal may fade out if you are already really close to the signal, but turn away from it by a significant degree. As soon as the signal of the device has become stable, without interruptions, you can start digging out the target with a shovel. This will require a few simple steps:
take a shovel in your hands
look towards the ground - the shovel icon should appear
hold down the “F" key until the action is complete
Binoculars The item can be found at various locations on the map, and is also available as part of the Support Pack! The multiplicity of the binoculars is 4x.
Universal inventory slots. Quick slots 4-7 and devices slots F1-F4 are now merged into universal slots, that can store consumables and devices. These items won’t take space in the main inventory
This update brings all weapons rebalance (including sniper rifles) and new recoil system with smooth camera adjustment after shot. This update is the first step towards total weapon system overhaul, next one will feature progressive spread and customized per-weapon recoil patterns. We need your feedback on this one more then ever so let us know what you think on Discord and Steam forum!
New features:
Respawn beacons
Due to the appearance of beacons, respawn cooldowns at other locations have been increased to 10 minutes. Base respawn cooldown is set to 5 minutes.
Hidden stashes and bearing finders.
Universal inventory slots.
Binoculars
New weapon recoil system
All weapons rebalance
Breath hold and recover timings changes
Menu option for disabling teammates names in game (“P” by default)
Universal inventory slots. Quick slots 4-7 and devices slots F1-F4 are now merged into universal slots, that can store consumables and devices. These items won’t take space in the main inventory
First-person and third-person view FOV can now be tweaked separately through the game menu
Cherny Log landscape changes
Some items (broken flashlight, walkie-talkie etc) can now be disassembled into components
Bugs fixed:
In some scenarios, players could not connect to the server
2-sided material added for rocks and stones to prevent players from shooting from inside the geometry
Items in quick slots are not stacked at purchase
Various graphical bugs and glitches
Items in quickslots don’t properly stack after buying
