New update available - combination of some bug fixes as well as a few additions.
Tax System - new tax system that deducts tax at the beginning of each day based on past day's earnings. There are now three tax collectors in town - if they were to perhaps...disappear, the taxes would no longer be connected. As well, the Hotel and Townhall, both late game buildings, have options to lower tax rates if you wish to go the more legit route.
Fixed bug with no upkeep on empty building.
Pre-made saloons no longer cost more than $350 on any setting.
Research icon will no longer show if no research available.
Fixed bug with courthouse adding suspicion instead of taking away.

September 17 Updates
New changes, fixes and updates. Thanks for feedback!
Added Provoke townsperson action. This allows player the ability to piss them off and gain a claim against the NPC. As previously, with a claim, this of course opens up the "legal" way of killing an NPC via an ol' fashioned duel and removing them from the board.
Fixed bug where player was still able to sponsor a family even though the town was full.
Fixed/refactored Suspicion setting system as it was not working exactly as intended before with the player start settings.
Fixed/refactored Stress setting system as it was not working exactly as intended before with the player start settings.
Stove pots hide on second story.

September 16 Updates (v4)
One more small cheat update - couldn't resist.
Nemesis stress was reported wrong in journal - this is fixed.
Fixed bug where placing an item on a wall would sometimes not work due to an object in the room behind.
Fixed purchase/sell button on businesses - was sometimes not showing up when it should.
Fixed bug with bottles on bars and counters appearing on second level when on first.

September 16 Updates - Day End
Long day, another round of changes.
Staff limitations increased for Prostitutes and Croupiers to ten each.
Items can now be moved between first and second stories.
Fixed most bugs where item would be highlighted red when leaving bounds of saloon and coming back during build and edit modes.
Added daily revenue and costs to daily cash tooltip in top bar showing exactly was spent and earned for the day so far.
Added alert to show if owning stock in a drink or food family but nothing researched.
Alert icons slightly larger.
Fixed bug when in edit mode and clicking on the edit button would make the item disappear.
Fixed bug where firing staff member would cause inability to assign weapon to someone else.
Fixed bug where businesses like rival saloon or train station could be purchased if owners were killed.
Business acquisition prices increased (price now set to lifetime earnings instead of monthly)
Fixed bug with staff hired always having 100 opinion
Adjusted storage of large trunk and bedroom shelf
Dirt removed from townsperson on failed blackmails as well

Staff limitations increased for Prostitutes and Croupiers. The UI will likely improve, but this allows in the short term to hiring more of those staff (now up to ten each).

Closing a saloon now reduces stress by 1 per hour
Staff follow button added.
Optimized NPC movement scripts for drastically better performance and FPS, especially late-game with a full town.

Fixed bug where sometimes player could build furniture outside not meant to be outside (and would make it disappear).
Birds no longer fly through saloon.
